HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Happy New Year to all my friends here on
and best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2012!
I'm sorry I've been somewhat abscent lately, but between the holidays and some big projects I'm in the middle of, it's not leaving much free time.
I will be posting some harvest pics of the Lucy who's set to be harvested tomorrow, but I may give her an extra day or two.
In the mean time, here's my smoke report on the Power Skunk:
POWER SKUNK SMOKE REPORT
It's only been two weeks that the Power Skunk has been curing, but I couldn't wait any longer to dip into a good bud for the smoke report.
First, this is some STANKY stuff! Despite it's name, it doesn't really smell "skunky" to me at all, but it's got an extremely strong & pungent fruity smell that's really tough to describe, but I guess the closest thing I can come up with is something like fermenting orange peels.
For a non-smoker, I could see how the smell could be a little offensive, but for those of us that partake, it's got the kind of stink that screams "smoke me & you won't regret it but if you're gonna grow me, you better have some good odor control!"
It's got a nice citrus/skunky flavor that's most notable on the exhale and this stuff goes right to your head numbing all senses. Definate couch-lock (just the way I like it!) and I'm trying to decide if it's as good or better than the Pineapple Express, and I'm having a tough time (but a lot of fun!) deciding!
You could see from the previous pictures that the Power Skunk was covered in dense trichomes that made the buds look like snow-covered alps; and, the buds themselves are extremely dense resulting in more weight than I had expected.
Here's what the buds look like dry:
After two hits of the Power Skunk I found myself just staring at the TV for about 15 minutes until I realized I had no idea what I was watching and was only paying attention to the action playing out in my head and not what was playing out on the screen. It works GREAT for my back pain and also for help in getting to sleep.
It's definately some more great genetics I don't mind having around for some time but probably not what you want to be smoking when you need to think. It's not bad, though, for having to focus on one needless task where you can't break anything or hurt yourself too badly. It would be perfect if your job was stuffing envelopes, just not good if you had to address the envelopes, if you know what I mean!
As much as it's got the couch lock qualities, it's also some pretty social herb and definately helps the good times roll, providing good motivation for conversation on ways to solve the worlds problems using methods no one's ever thought of before and that you won't remember in an hour, anyways!
I have no doubt there are better strains, and no doubt a better grower get better results than I with these strains, but I'd put both the Power Skunk and the Pineapple Express up as some of the best herb I've smoked/vaped and I like to think I've smoked some of the best!
If you're like me and you like you're herb stinky and leaving you feeling like you've been hit in the head with a 2"x4" - only without the pain, then the Power Skunk is for you!
I give the Power Skunk four out of five spliffs:
Happy Harvests!
