SOGgy Daze Ahead For Mr. Krip!

Looks awesome Mr. Krip!!!! Can't wait to see how well I do with this hempy/coco method...I think that the p/v mix is great, but I am gonna give it a shot with the coco...
+reps if I can Bro!!

Thanks, Brother :thanks:

You'll do fine w/ coco hempys. I haven't seen a side-by-side against a p/v mix, but I've seen coco used very successfully in hempys. If anything, you'll probably have to water less. Plus, I believe coco is high in P which will help during bloom. :cheertwo:

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS HARVEST

This morning, I checked trichs again on all six of the PE's and two of them were showing lots of amber, so I harvested those two this morning, leaving four more PE's that should be ready in the next day or two.

One of the PE's was 12" and the other was 12.5". I didn't take many pics, but here's a couple shots of one of them:

The pre-harvest sample was fantastic! Better than the Power Skunk, so far, but I'll reserve final judgement until after the dry & cure.

Happy Harvests!

The 2l seem to be the most efficient use of time and space? You have me considering a switch. Because I notice the dirt is never fully used in larger pots on the plants slotted for harvest, they get done before the roots fill the spac... Your thoughts.

The 2L SOG sure seems to allow for maximum yield in any space indoors, but there may be other considerations, such as legal number of plants. If you haven't read them, you should check out 420fied's two SOG journals.

The short version is that, when growing bigger plants, the most and best bud tends to come from the main cola. Lower buds tend to be airy since indoor lights can't effctively penetrate far below the canopy.

So, instead, with a 2L SOG, we grow something like 16 (or more!) plants in the same space as we used to grow 1-2 plants. And, all 16 of those plants are main colas. Because the plants are shorter, the lights don't need to penetrate as far, and combined with heavy defoliation, results in no airy/popcorn buds, so even lower buds are dense and well developed.

I've definately become a big fan and highly recommend SOG, especially for anyone flowering with LED's! :thumb:

Use smaller pots.....it all depends on the strain and how long you veg.

It's done. Scary pulling them out of their little cups and then going at them with the shears, but I did it.

Whew. :thanks:

Nice work, fn! :welldone:

You'll see the topping is no big deal at all! :high-five:

QUICK PIC UPDATE - FEELIN' LIKE A GROWER, NOW!

I'm starting to feel like a real grower now with all this stuff I have going on with the grow right now. I still have eight plants in the flower tent, and the last two of the original seven will be harvested tomorrow, leaving six more due for harvest in a couple of weeks.

The first five plants are hanging in the dry box:

The veg side of the cab is packed full with 4 good-sized Bonsai mom's, the new Lucy clone that will become a mom, the six other Lucy clones that have all rooted and will go into veg along with the two Power Skunk clones. No more room on the veg side! :)

On the clone side, we still have the six Pineapple Express clones, some of which just started showing roots today, plus another Lucy clone (the top from the new mom) and three Power Skunk clones. The ugly looking clone is another Lucy clone I tried to rescue from the TK, but she isn't going to make it:

Finally, the Power Skunk has been drying for 2 1/2 days now, so I clipped a smaller, lower bud that appeared pretty dry for a little early sample. It will be going in the vape soon!:

I'm looking forward to these next batches of clones. Now that I have enough mature moms and a better idea of how big the clones need to be before flowering, I'm hoping to have a nice full tent soon as I get this SOG dialed in!

Happy Harvests!

Congrats on getting the hang of this grow style brother grower, you're cranking them buds out! :thumb:

Thanks, Sisco! Yeah, it was all a matter of getting the clone situation under control. It's tough to get many plants in the SOG if you can't take many clones. And, combined with my low success rate in the TK, getting started was a little slow. Now, we seem to have picked up the pace considerably! :)

Congrats on the harvest - that Power Kush looks fanfriggintastic! :high-five:

Thanks, Bro! Actually, it's a Power Skunk, but I sure know which one you're talking about! ;)

I just finished a final trim and jarring the PS buds after three days of drying and, to my BIG surprise, there was 17.4g on that one plant! I'm sure I'll lose another couple of g's (maybe more?) as the buds continue to dry & cure, but, with the plants so short, I was initially projecting less than 1/2 of that. Then, as I saw the buds develop, I upped my estimate to about 10 g's per plant dried. If I can get anywhere near 14 g each TDW, I'll be VERY happy with this initial round! :yahoo:

This next round, I should end up with plants that about 50% taller, or more, so I know I should be able to get the weight up. :thumb:

QUICK CLONE UPDATE

It's been about nine or ten days since I took the first four Pineapple Express clones, and then took two more over this past weekend. We now have three of the first four of those clones showing roots.

I need to put them in mini hempys, but, I found out this weekend that both Homie's near me stopped selling vermiculite. I located another local source today and need to pick some up in the next day or so.

So far, I'm batting 100% on cloning success since switching from the TK back to rockwool. I'm sure this ratio won't hold up over time, but it's still far better than I was getting with the cloner! :thumb:

Happy Harvests!

Oops! I knew it was Power Skunk, but typed the wrong damned thing, haha. Too much Lavender tonight... ;)

Super cool on the unexpected extra weight! :thumb:

Yeah!

I knew it was a mis-type and that you know the strain. I only corrected it for anyone else dropping in who may not have realized it was a Skunk & not a Kush.

Your Lavendar was almost too pretty to vape....ALMOST!!! :)
