Round 2!!
Lets start this new thread off properly.
Equipment List:
2 1000W Nextgen Ballast
1 6" elicent inline fan
1 6" vortex inline fan
1 4" vortex inline fan
1 Ebb and Grow
1 Phresh carbon scrubber
Full Line of Canna nutes, + Botanicare Sweet, + Cal Mag@ 5ml a gal (RO water)
Medium = Hydroton
Strains:
Dream Queen :
It is roughly a 75 percent sativa - 25 percent indica hybridized strain, making it sativa dominant.
A great daytime strain, its effect is very noticable initially. It has a strong euphoria. It is the type of strain that makes music "cool" to listen to.
It has a very pungent odor, usually not sweet. It is a very tasty strain, tasting just as it smells. Dream Queen generally gets me moving, I will smoke it, and not be able to sit still. I have heard it produces a med-high yield, but we will see.
Grape Ape
Grape Ape, a dominant Indica hybrid. It has a very strong grape smell that also has skunk undertones. The nugs are dense and very stick. They are also covered in dark green and orange hairs.
The buzz is quite as characteristically unique as it's smell or look. On inhale the taste isn't exactly what one would expect. Primarily because it doesn't really taste that much like grape initially. The first flavor is instead reminiscent of a hash, which is a common Indica strain flavor.
As you take the smoke in a breath out you taste the hints of grape. The high also speaks of it's Indica heritage, it's mostly a body high, but very relaxing and not too internal.
I am doing 6 of each in my EBB & GROW. My clone provider told me, that both should take about 9 weeks.
So, anyone who followed my last journal knows it went great for a first run. I had 8 Blue Dream girls that gave me 53oz's in 9.5 weeks. I did however improve my setup.
I had a bit of issues with controlling my heat last round. I was generally about 80F with lights on, acceptable... but not optimal.
To improve my temperature, I decided to insulate all the walls. I believe I was venting hot air into the rest of the garage, and it was just seeping back into the room. Also I wanted to try and limit noise. To combat temps, I also purchased new inline fans. A 4" fan that pulls cold air from outside through a hepa filter to the room. 1 of the 6" fans pulls air from the room through the scrubber, and out to the garage. The other 6" fan pulls air from outside directly through both lights, and then out to the garage.
After setting up all the ducting, I am chilling at 73F after 16 hours of running.
Other improvements, are:
I painted the room flat white. I primed 2 coats, fixed all my holes from first run, and put 1 coat of flat white paint. The room is blinding right now. Another improvement, is I split the room into 2 sections. I have a 12ft X 8ft room flower, that allows me to access all 4 sides this time. Last round I had the girls pushed against a wall, and I regretted it the whole time. The other room is 6ftX8ft, and will work great as my nursery/storage. I also put my reservoir in the nursery room. I hated not being able to do water changes, or check my levels during lights out... solved!! Here's a few pics of the girls.
Water temp, 72F
Canopy, 73F
PPM 850, I added 5ml per gal Cal mag, and 5ml per gal sweet on top of Canna's light feeding.
Lights 18 on
Light distance: 3ft at the moment, I will be lowering slowly all week.
So the girls have lasted 36 hours in my new room, and the look happy. 9 of them have leafs pointing up, and I believe are already showing signs of growth. 3 have a little bit of droopy leaves, might be a little bit of shock.
Here's a few pics.
Below are all 12, I am able to move them around, so they're not in permanent spots atm.
Below is my intake
