Smokiemcpot's Perpetual Pot Plant Paradise

All my new growth is lighter at first also. Just wait til you hit the 4 - 5 week mark & they start taking off. You'll be a happy camper then. Did you see the wire racks I made to sit my pots on so I didn't have to hold them up? 16" x 8' piece $15.95 @ Home Depot. Cut it down at the store to 16" x 16" & set the racks on top of oil drain pans ($1.00 ea. @ the dollar store).
Now I can water .... walk away & come back in an hour or all day if I want & no roots will sit in the water & they'll be well drained. Well worth the cost.

Hey Smokey, How about an update & some fresh pics ? I'd like to see your progress so far. I re-read your grow journal & I noticed one other thing you did different. You didn't wash your Coco prior to using it to make sure the pH was correct.
When I 1st broke my Coco bricks down the pH was only 5.0 so I had to keep flushing it until my run off came back 5.8 (the same as the 5.8 water I put in. Took 75 gallons to get it there. The package said it was double washed & all the yada, yada crap .... but I still washed it to be sure anyway. Don't get me wrong, I have heard some people don't wash it. But it seems most do. You need to find out what the pH of your run off is. Really should be between 5.8 - 6.0 for the best nutrient uptake. I've been trying to stay at the 5.8 because the salt build up will raise the pH.
Anyway, I did my 1st defol on 5 of my plants last night. They sure look a lot smaller now. But I can see the white hairs coming out so we are starting the transition to bloom now. Let the buds grow !!!

Hey man yeah your right, my coco said It was already washed and pH buffered on the bag so I only put a half gallon through each pot before planting seeds. I've been watering to runoff every watering since a few days ago and I tested run off yesterday at 6.4 and ppm of 226.

I have a couple new pics from last night of the ak, she's the biggest so far but I'll get new pics today!

(Day #10)

Your pH is too high. You need to get it down to around 6.0. I always used 6.4 pH for my soil grows but not good for Coco. I'm not sure what others would do. I would stick my pot in the tub & pour about 3 gallons of 1/4 strength pH 5.8 nutes through it to get my pH right & then skip feeding for a day. 2 - 3 gallons should do the trick. That's what I would do but you might want to check with others. They may have a better solution.

We are running a drain to waste system with coco coir, your runoff pH will always fluctuate and only matters when and if you see a deficiency.. I've explained a few times in this thread my tap, tub, shower, ect is off of a well and I have to buy water cause of it or I would run it through till lower pH but everything I've read says it's not needed unless you have a problem

I don't have 75$ just laying arround to spend on water to just run through my plants or I would bro. I'm not getting any deficiencies yet and my growth has been slow cause I was giving 0 nutes and barely watering the first 7 days.

The last 3 days the plants are thriving.

@farside05 do you agree my run off pH at 6.4 is too high? I can always feed at 5.5 till more run off and lower it slowly but I don't have 50+ gallons of distilled water sitting arround atm lol.

And buds I appreciate the help man! Just hard in my situation without a good source of water to do. And also farside is a wizard with the numbers and nute calculations! He grows in a smaller space then both of us, uses a less draw light, grew only 3 plants last run and yeilded more then probably both of us combined will yeild this grow!! Check out his grows and he's using no bloom nutes!!

OK, do what you like. Everything I've read or been told said pH has to be between 5.0 - 6.0 in Coco for proper nutrient uptake & between 5.5 - 6.0 for the best results. I personally believe that 6.4 could cause a lockout of one of the other nutrients.
$75 would be a lot for water. You don't have one of those bottled water machines near you where you can get 5 gallons of water for 75 cents? I'd be using that if I had to pay for water.

I just read his grow. He got 9.13 oz. off 2 - WW's. That's about 4.55 oz. per plant which is average. My last grow (in soil) I pulled 5.5 oz. per plant with very little training. Not putting his grow down at all because it's a darn nice grow. But if he would have lowered his N like you're suppose to during bloom he wouldn't have had N burned tips. I also believe if he used Bloom Nutes he would have gotten more weight. However, Mega Crop is a Start to Finish Nutrient so I guess he would have to adjust the ppm of the N somehow. All in all, his grow is good.
I'm looking to get 6 - 8 oz. per plant. Until I accomplish that I wont be happy. I'm getting closer. Went from 2 oz. to 3.5 oz. to 4.5 oz. to 5.5 oz. Now with my new set up & nutes I expect more. But of course we'll have to wait & see.

Not sure where you were looking. My son grew White Widow about a year and a half ago, with the old blurple lights. My current grow was Blue Dream'matic and Girl Scout Cookies. Results are HERE.

I'd stay the course at the moment. The plant isn't telling you to do otherwise. They look fine. Just keep feeding daily till runoff. I wouldn't necessarily discount your well water. The extra ppm you see is likely from calcium, which your plants would enjoy. I installed a fancy RO system because I was concerned about my city tap water. After a couple years of slowly filling jugs and toting them up the stairs, I now just run water straight from the tap in the nearby bathroom.

It was the thread "Growing without Bloom Nutes". The grow was 2 GSC & 2 WW. It was the 1st grow on that thread. I read the 1st 15 pages of it.

Like Fanleaf on Farsides grow .... we see things differently so i'll be on my way. I did agree with Fanleaf though.
Hope you do well !!!
Not saying I don't value your opinion man.. if I had the ability to run endless water through them I totally would.. and look at the latest pages of farsides grow at the bottom of his sig. He grew gg and blue dream.
I wasn't watering to runoff before and now that I am I'm sure it will go down soon now that I'm technically flushing with proper pH through the plant.
All I'm saying @Buds Buddy is my plant is looking healthy to me and others atm so i dont feel i need to take extraordinary measures just yet.
I want you to stick around man compare these ak47's
