SmokerJoe's Indoor Organic Soil Bagseed Grow

I just wish someone would of said dont use baking soda any one of the times I mentioned it. and I wouldnt of used it for ph up if this meter was accurate and I wouldnt of even bought a meter had someone said organics dont need phed. A Series of misfires but now I know and unfortunately for me others get to profit from my mistakes and thats how I teach so it isnt totally valueless

i always used the fish tank ph up safe for fish safe for plants i would think. and before that if the ph was to low i would just empty some back into my 5 gal jug and add fresh un phd water to bring it up. but i noticed when i didn't ph right my plants looked yellow cause they said don't do it with soil cause it does it itself, but i went back to doing my ph and my plants look great. I'm also switching to fish tank water for watering my plants now. so i just add whatever ph i need to do and see what happens and I'm still gonna give it the fox farm nutes but I'm gonna go 1/2 strength for now cause i really don't know whats in the fish water might be strong or not strong enough but ill take small steps for now. also to ph down i was using a fresh lemon or vinegar couple drops at a time. seemed to work good for me.

I rarely use any chemicals to bring my PH up I just ad more of the original water.. that brings it up unless im really low, I always have to use PH down and the safe bet is to buy a gallon from General Hydroponics for $16 and I can tell you I use about 5 ML or less to adjust my water down 1 Gallon [Fluid, US] = 3785.41178 Milliliters. Its lasted me and i do close to 40-60 gallons of water a week I bought my gallon 2-3 grows ago still have some.

Best bet break down and get something stable, and seriously you don't need PH up. adding the water is the most stable way of changing it and your EC wont spike. The other thing about changing the PH the chemicals you add to do that IS changing the makeup of the water so the less you can use the better, so if ur sitting there bringing in down then up then down again that's ok for like 2-3 times but it can get a little nasty.

Hope your remaining girls do well, hope all is well with everyone!

Yeah I use fish water every once in awhile maybe every third watering. It works out really good. The plants love it. plus you get to recycle and have something right there that the gardening store sells back to you.

Hey Smoker Happy FreeWeed day :thumb:
I didn't know of the accuracy of using baking soda as ive never used it so I couldn't comment on it either way
I do for myself even 30+ yrs ago never did ph any of my soil plants or check ph of any plants in soil regardless of what kind of plant
and if it does need nutrients always best to use organic stuff
throw some earthworms in the pot use some fish emulsion etc...
these things I did 30 years ago lol
but lately I just buy decent soil and I still don't check or mess with ph
I would think most if not all these soil manufacturers know that most plant require soil in a certain ph range
and to have a good soil that will sell and be successful has to be within a certain ph range to be good soil
unless you make your own soil in which case you will be responsible for yourself what kind of natural nutrients that will release on its own you can put in there and how alkaline or acidic you make the soil
our plant requires slightly acidic

Yeah not gonna really worry about the water ph especially with a broken meter and im not gonna buy a new one right now or maybe ever. Ive done very well without one so im going back to that. I do give my plants fish emulsion already. I got 2 different types of guano and potash. So im gonna do what the owner of the indoor gardening place has said to do and put the guano in a nylon and let it sit in the water for 3 days before I use it. The thing I figured was to put it in a pillowcase but I suppose that doesnt matter except to spread it out further and I figured to use warm water so it is trhe same principle as dunking the teabag in the water to get it to release more tea into the water but he said cold water.

I almost got that posted a few minutes ago but the circuit breaker went off a second before I clicked send. Thanks for the advice. I love to hear other peoples stories and how they do things. Im glad to be a part of this site.

Tomorrow is picture day so you will get to see how they have recovered it was some hard work but I think they will be ok except for the 1 that is dead. Even ones that I thought were dead are rallying when they were in deep trouble.

So I mixed the 2 different bat guanos with the water and potash and some big bloom in some pantyhose from my old hookin days and the ppm is 1310. A little low but im going low until a complete recovery. Going for stronger larger roots for right now trying to repair that infrastructure.

The water seems about as concentrated as it is going to get. So im gonna water tomorrow because a lot of them are really dry finally. Lights out in 30 minutes thats why im not watering now. Dont need any mold encouragement.

Just waiting for the lights to come on to give them that water. Well time to go rummaging around the site until people start logging on

Yeah you dont want to water right before lights out because of a increased risk for mold overnight. You dont want to water during the day when the lights are on full bore. The best time to water is while the lights are still kicking in so it wont scorch the plants. Thats when I folialar feed but I dont do that much unless I have the lights up higher which ive been known to do specifically so I could give the plants a treat.

Lights are on time to get to work. Remember pictures tonight.

Starting to do blog posts now if you have interest drop on by say hello. I will be posting there as often as I can. It will be specifics on growing techniques of my creation that I will only be sharing through the blog, activism, politics. Some of the discussion could get a little heavy at times but I figured that would be a better format for those venues then to clutter my journal with them. I encourage participation to make it a enjoyable read for everyone I hope to see you there

Easy cloning blog post. If you like that after you read ya can rep here I wont be mad at ya :) Get to do these blog posts on slow traffic days so thats what im gonna create them. Its so boring with noone here. No journals to reply in noone on my journal blah.

i know the feeling if you aren't popular you aren't getting many visitors.

SmokerJoe, have you subscribed to many journals? That usually helps attract others here. :peace:

Yes 97 journals I am subbed to and 21 forums. Maybe I need more. I thought it was enough and that was enough people to help but I suppose most days it isnt.
