Ok as promised :hmmmm:
Here is my attempt at a SIP pot ,critique welcome 😳😂
Made from 2 /20ltr black buckets one bucket cut at 14cm from the bottom this was the divider for the reservoir, saves me having pipes or bottles to hold the divider up . I used a short piece of 90mm storm water pipe with a cap and I used a 90mm to 100mm reducing bush and trimmed the outside 100mm bit off to give me a bigger shoulder to support divider .
The top half of the bucket that was chopped is fitted to the top of the bucket with screws from inside out into the flanged bit handles go through, trimmed a section of lid to hold fill pipe ,skewer and cork to indicate water level .
Drain pipe fitted and holes drilled in divider and foot.
Let me know if I've missed anything 😊:headbanger:

Love this build, nicely done @Absorber

The 27gal Tote SIP. 4in sleeved French drain pipes at the bottom, gives it a 4.2 gallon reservoir. Columbian Gold on the left and Forbidden Fruit on the right.

Well here goes my first attempt at building a SIP.
I was going to use storage totes but a friend of mine hooked me up with a couple shipping totes
I cut the bottom out of one and put the sip holes in opposite corners. The PVC is the 2 inch spacers for the bottom support and I need to drill the drain holes in the floor and little pots yet.
This is also going to have a net that attaches to it that I made from a old 26 inch bike rim, this is going to be my 1st stage net and I made a 3X3 net that attaches to my tent.
If I'm forgetting anything I would appreciate your advice..

omg a bike rim? Genius! This is SIP DIY gold! GOLD! Way to go. 26inch BMX no less, a classic wheel size. I really want an electric bmx bike on 26's and huge wide, snow tires. I have one of those big shipping crates too, impressive. You can just fill the planter with soil (homogenous mix, no perlite layering, only exception being the very bottom layer.) I would have put those wicking feet in the middle, but this will work fine.

But the corner wicks will work less fine if you try this out, which is a setup I like, it slows the SIP down just a stitch. Not growth, just the wetting rate and subsequently means a 10% less wet SIP, for me compared to just filling the planter: lay a cloth down, maybe spread some soil, and then drop soft pots in, they'll wick just as well, and you have different plant phenos you can always pick them up and put 'em somewhere else. Just avoid soil layering in SIPs unless you are actively experimenting with slowing the capillary action-evaporation down. Water doesn't do its capillary action too well against layers. Maybe also consider knocking together a dolly, or mount onto a skateboard to help you move things about.

26" wheel... brilliant.....

O that’s friggin mint , ya had to go mess my head up eh I was all set on my design now I don’t know if I should do yours haha

Given enough veg, that will grow a nice big plant.

🤣🤣
These are going outside, with the extra height they might be a little tall in grow room .:passitleft:

Hi SIP club, today I undercut a purple queen in SIP in green she was 63 in flower 66. She was under @ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO and was getting 300w. That's how it turned out with the roots as well.

Buds are looking tasty, is that strain known to foxtail ? They still look impressive either way .
And the root mass looks nice too
:passitleft: :goodjob:

What do you mean fox tail?
Some strains will naturally do it ,its mainly an indoor grow thing from a hot grow room or light too close or intensely bright light during flowering can all cause it if its not in the plants genetics already
.

It had 300w and summer is in full swing here, so I was struggling with high temperatures. That'll probably be it.
