Shottafire's - Bubba OG Sealed Medical Grow in Sunshine #4

This looks like the one I bought.

Not sure about posting links to blue's site, but here goes. If this is a violation, mods feel free to remove with my apologies.

Shop Soleus Powered by Gree 70-Pint 3-Speed Dehumidifier ENERGY STAR at Lowes.com

While looking for this, I found this one:
Shop Soleus Powered by Gree 70-Pint 3-Speed Dehumidifier with Pump ENERGY STAR at Lowes.com

I'm going to try and exchange mine for the one that comes with the pump. Mine is in the basement, so I have no floor drain.
looks like I will be gettting a lowes credit card. lol. Thanks for that link hiker. I really like how it looks too. My old LG looked like a bomb exploded on it. +reps
Hey bro looking fantastic!!

Was that a typo? The warmer it gets, the less moisture that is able to be held in the air. Meaning, the warmer you go, the less humid. Try to keep it at around 70-74 night time if you aren't already. With the heat from my 70pint dehu and heater, my rh never goes above 40% at night time (9x9 room with 65% ambient rh)
I know the warmer the air the more evaporation I will have. But the more my ac is on the more it pulls moisture out of the air. If I set it to 76 FROM 78 my ac is on for a longer period of time making it pull more moisture from the air. When the ac goes off humidity climbs with temperature. I need to go and get a 70 pint dehuey

Hiker,

Yep, I go in and manually turn it up at lights on.
Then turn it down in the morning.

dedication!!!

Hi UG. Are you sure about this? It's my understanding that warmer air actually holds more moisture. The air contains more energy and therefore is able to keep more highly energized water molecules as a vapor. This is why rh drops so low in the winter. When air cools, the moisture is forced out as condensation.

I wrote this and then started to wonder if I was mistaken, so I looked it up.
Relative humidity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The graph in the 'Other important facts' section, about 2/3 of the way down the page, displays this pretty clearly I think. After reading this page, I'm not sure my understanding is all that accurate, but it is true that warmer air actually holds more water vapor.

No disrespect intended at all here UG. You're an excellent grower, and this has nothing to do with you. I have a compulsion about correcting misinformation. My apologies if this comes across as rude in any way.
:Namaste:

Hiker,

Thanks for that Vick. I read this yesterday and it stuck in my mind. Even before I read your reply, I had decided to start doing this. It will be a pain for a few days. Currently, my 'daytime' is 4PM-3:30AM. I'm moving that up a few hours so I don't have to stay up so late to adjust the fan. I already have a speed controller on my exhaust fan, so I might as well make use of it. I've always tried to avoid having to do anything manually on a schedule, but it is what it is. :)

I had to get up at 2:30 AM this morning to turn the fan down. I'm moving the schedule up one hour a day, so the plants are actually losing an hour of light for a few days. I'm planning to diminish their light schedule (hence why they are on 11.5 hours already), but I'm not ready to remove another hour yet. They will be getting only 10.5 hours for the couple days it takes to move up the schedule, then I'll leave them on 11 hours for a few more weeks.

OK... now back to Shottafire's show :)

No disrespect at all brother, in fact we are both right. See here's the tricky shit about it lol... It's called relative humidity because it is "relative". Have you ever heard of dew point? that's the other side of the relative. Yes, in summertime my humidity rises but it also rises every single night of the year from dew point (morning wetness). If you warm up your temps at night your rh will lower.

I really should have paid more attention in school so I could explain this better lol. But yes Hiker I typed it wrong lol, warmer it gets the more moisture that can be absorbed, but remember it is relative.

P.s you should look into Day/Night controllers with photocell. $120 and none of that "Omg, I forgot to turn the fan down!!"...cause it will happen just sayin lol

Yep. That 'R' is the important part.
The Wikipedia page did a good job of explaining it I think :)

Thanks for the suggestion. Will the controllers let you change the speed of the fan based on day or night? I suppose there must be some that do that.

I'm reluctant to invest much more $$ into my ventilation right now. I'm planning to make this room sealed as soon as I can. Hopefully after this harvest, but it might take 2. I'm getting an AC for the room for sure, but not sure I'll be able to add CO2 after this first round. If I can't swing the CO2, I'll still have to vent the room, but with the AC, I can just leave the fan on, but moving very little air. Just enough to replenish the CO2 and maintain a negative pressure (to control odor). At night, I'll just do as I do now and have a heater running.

And the "OMG..." part is exactly why I try to avoid having any manual timed processes. It's not that big a deal for me to change the speed setting, and I'll also be restricting down the intake, every 12 hours, once I get the schedule shifted. I work from home, and don't even leave the house many days, so I'm around to do it. I do appreciate the warning/concern though! Trust me, I'm not entirely happy about it, but Vick's suggestion is a perfect solution for me for the rest of this harvest. :Namaste:

Looking good Shotta. I think I'm like 2-3 days behind you :)

What day did you flip? I flipped 2/6

What day did you flip? I flipped 2/6

I flipped jan 30th so I am not sure what to call it. Ultimately going by the trichomes but I would think I am a little farther along then 28 days. more like 35. Your plants look great as does your room.

What do you guys think?

I count from flip date. Some use day they see pistils. I had 9 different strains. Using pistil day is worthless for me. I actually think everyone should use flip date myself. It's the only way we can all be on the same page.

Ok so today is going to be 36 days then. It really is only a number the plants tell us whats good.

I agree to be on the same page should always use flip date.

Today at 5 is my moment of truth to see if my room is able to stay under the 50% rh mark.

The new dehuey cranks got the room down in the 30's last night. So i am hopeful it will be near or below 45% when I go in just before lights on.

That's a good deal. Mine was $260.

Searched far and wide. With the cost of gas to go and pick up I didnt save much lol! This one had a sticker on the box suggested retail 280.00 It apparently is a refurbished model soleus 70 pt witha valid warranty as well. so I am not complaining just another week of beans rice and leafy greens from the vegggie garden.

Things have improved as far as the humidity goes should get better as the temperature outside gets a little warmer.
51 percent is my high during lights off. 37 percent is my low during lights on. Temperature its always sunny and 77 degrees give or take 1-2 degrees. lights off temps are not super low. like 73 or so. good picture update later today. need to go to bed now.

peace shotta out...
:thanks: everyone

Man is it getting harder and harder to get all the work done and then get on here for an update. Baby, work, grow, surf if im lucky. Oh yeah here too. geeezzz.

Anyways these are the nicest looking plants i have grown to date. Very happy with my results so far. I would like your guys opinions on Feeding drain to waste style. I have been going between 1000 and 1200 ppm's every feeding since flower. They dont seem to be harmed in fact they look extremely resinoous and healthy. Since my room is all sealed and everything is dialed in now do you think i could push the nutrients a little stronger.

Just curious, any opinions. I am using PBP as my base grow/flower w/ liquid karma and floralicious plus alternating between the two. molasses, silica blast, 1/4-1/2 strength powdered kool bloom weeks 4-6 every other feeding.

Here are the beauties at day 39 12/12
