Shiggityflip - Follow The Yellow Brix Road With The Perfect Sun 1000

Major the one I have my eye on is the dake hand pump hydraulic for just under 200. But I also love the nice semi mobility of the arbor press. Here is one pic of the 4Csins at a few days post cat drench. I think I am going to wish I had some tomato cages by the end of this. May need a lot of stakes. But who knows? These stems are unbelievably strong. I had a few buds start the bleach on top and my solution is al aye to supercrop that bud. Fixes it every time. But these 4Csins stems are super strong and resilient. I am finding I have to manhandle them to train them. I think they stopped stretching about 23ish days in. Does that mean 70 day flower?

I think I like this new system. Teases through the week and a big update on the weekend...

I meant to get the rosin thread up and then came Tutankhamon. I made some Tutankhamon rosin. Got 15% yield but TUt was pulled early last grow as I didn't want to wait for one plant to finish. I dabbed some...and here we are. This is some potent smokable. And the terps are ridiculous. I may try to squeeze her high brix version into next grow but there are so many new seedlings.

Pineapple Fields, Dark dragon, sour bubble, GG#4 X dosido, cactus X dosido, hulkamaniac, I may not have room till after this grow. And for that one I have 9 Pineapple fields "Linda" plants that will veg from now until then. She's a slow vegger. I may try the net thing someone was doing. Was that FE? I can't remember.

So far HK Pineberry gave a whopping 22%, Tutankhamon 15% yield, and Pineapple Fields 16%. I tried kief in a coffee filter but it blew out. Need to get a bit of steel mesh or some teabags.

I am still working out my protocol for rosin. Right now I am pre flattening with two giant padlocks lol. Looking for a hammer press that can make a puck just bigger than 1". I also want to get a pipe to slip over and extend my lever for the press. More torque means more yield. I have been staying under 220F for terp retention. I squish for 15 seconds. The nugs extend almost to the edge of the plate when squished so the rosin does not stay under heat for that time. It squishes out side the plates. I am not getting all the rosin out. I can feel some in the Nug chips. If the pipe to increase torque doesn't work I will get a cheap hand pump hydraulic press. May be easy on these old arms. The arbor press was for proof of concept.

So I'm excited that eventually when I upgrade I will get a little bump in yield too! I have been saving all my chips for some kind of edible or oil.

An actual thread later. This Tut rosin just has me spinning!

yeah ive done the net thing , dont shiggity trip!

Freakishly strong stems are a sure sign of high brix. It's gonna get real nice in there pretty quick....:cheertwo:

Shiggs, I tried the "garlic-press tech" to pre-form some pucks, but the pressure I can apply in the rosin process wasn't enough manually. No doubt a hydraulic press would provide the pressure necessary to press a full puck. Give it a shot if you haven't already.

I gave the second cat drench last night. Everything is piling on nicely and buds are starting to take actual shape. Things are happening fast and I like that for sure.

Two days ago I hit the 1 gallon plants with reversed Twister pollen. The reversal wasn't smooth, I think I need to up the spray frequency of the silver thiosulfate and try again. But who knows? I used a small cosmetics brush I stole from my GF to apply the pollen. She had never used it before. We will see if it works. I am going to take a small twister and try reversing again just in case.

Looking for a big update this weekend and I will get the rosin tech thread up today. Happy Friday People!

:goodluck: with the pollination!

I noticed that on my current seed project, once I pollenated the females, within a day or 2 of the pollenation, all the pistils that received pollen turned orange/amber and within about a week after that the calyx's started to show signs of swelling. Not sure if that helps but it was a good indicator for me that the pollen was received.

you can also successfully reverse males to the point of self pollination shiggs you probably have even done this before yourself ,contrary to poular stoner myth ( if you google this sort of stuff all you seem to find is people arguing and poking fun), eg take the male plant for demos sake lets say it is a topped plant so has the Y shape ,i lollipop all the way up leaving only the top buds and 4 fan leafs ,2 sets of 2 , then you have bugger all balls to watch and the ones you do need to watch are localised ,continue to pick a ball off whenever you see one , ( for me this is a simple 1 min inspection of the 2 lollipopped tops at lights on .
ok so the male plant will eventually develop pistals usually in week 3 of this treatment , walla ,you can self the male and save his genetics , in case of clone theft, govt assasins etc lol

Shigg - Up spraying to once a week or every 3-4 days. I have a Fruit Punch balling up right now, it took 3 sprays over 16 days. It's coming on strong too.

This was a 5:1 dilution. It gave very minor spotting on the lowest leaves, looked like Ca def.

Some strains seem harder than others. Dark Devil was easy. HSO Blue Dream was hard and we collected very little. Fruit Punch seems to be going well, we'll see when balls are mature.

I've made some DIY CS for home use. Next seed project I'm going to try the CS again.

:peace:

I agree Heir. This dry run is looking unsuccessful. I am going to use the STS but spray twice per week. So the plant doesn't get confused. I did get the small spotted burn but in general I think the plant took the STS in stride. And lots of male flowers in the end but they didn't produce pollen for the most part. So a more frequent spraying would be just what the doctor ordered. At 1/5th strength of the recipe we were looking at? That's what you are using?

And oh yeah, I know peeps are waiting on the rosin thread... I promise it will be up today or tomorrow. I have been busy chainsawing fallen trees and removing log sections. Here is another tease. I squeezed some kief in a coffee filter and it worked nicely. Just made sure I didn't up the pressure to max until some of the rosin had already squeezed out. Otherwise you can get a blow out. (Ask me how I know!)
