Any number of reasons: dust, pet hair, bugs, any foliar sprays, powdery mildew, and more even drying.

I never heard of it. But old school growers we just eat the bugs spilt them out
Yes, I do.
Do it this grow and look in your buckets after you're done, then decide if you really want to ingest the crap that comes off on your next grow. Most growers, especially medical growers, will never not wash again after doing it that first time and seeing what came off.

Hi Lisa!
I've washed the past two crops using a 4 bucket wash. Similar to above but first bucket has 4:1 water / hydrogen peroxide. Will help to kill off critters and powder mold. I grow outdoors. There were a lot of fires near my house one year - had a lot of ash in the air. I'll continue washing. The brown water in the first bucket tells me it's a good idea.
I looked at trichomes closely before and after - no noticeable loss. Seems to help even out the dry (I hang dry for a few hours then do low and slow fridge dry). Freaked me out first time I tried it but it worked out just fine!

Thanks grateful. I’m going to try it. Even though I grow indoors I’m sure I’m going to be amazed at what comes off .
I grow in a cabinet with an air intake filter. I still have to periodically clean the grill of my circulating fan of dust and other stuff. Kind of surprising actually since I thought that filter would be all I needed to keep the grow clean. But I also spray the plants down as part of IPM so, just like washing your produce, I figure it's a good practice here too!

Good morning the one in the solo cup should been put in a pot a long time ago... It's suffering 
as far as the other two the look nice .. you mentioned orange on the leaves are you referring to "rusting" ? From what I read on that could be fungal issue or nutrient deficiency such as cal-mag.....prolly more so on the cal-mag tho.

One in cup looks deadGood morning all! Today I’m not sure what’s happening but it’s puzzling. First off my Pineapple Express is growing like crazy but I have some orange on leaves.
Blue dream is not as far along as Pineapple Express. Weird.. and the. The girl scout cookie??? I have no clue…
It's to far along tell what's wrong with it. Did it do that like over night gradually or what. Might can narrow it down for you. But yeah it does need bigger pot might used up all nutes in dirt in that cup

Believe it or not is bigger than it was the day before. I transferred back to cup because it was over watered. When I put it in cup it looked smaller. It’s so weird. It’s certainly not dead but just not growing the way it is supposed to. So dissapointing.
The first two photos were a few days ago. First in its 3 gal. Then I took it out to check on roots. Third pic today. So it is certainly growing.

Wow. Idk. Just let that sucker grow. No discolored roots or anything. Suggest fungus. It they were black or anything..just let it grow.Believe it or not is bigger than it was the day before.
