Scrumpdilly's First Time Grow - AK48 & White Widow Autoflower

The Green lights may be OK. I've read that you can use green lights during dark time and it doesn't affect Photos. There have been a couple discussions on them here on 420Magazine.

After I completed my last grow I noticed that there was a Amber light on my power strip that had been on the whole grow - even the 12/12 and had no problems.
I've been wondering about the red on power bars, I'm guessing even a strip of tape over it just to stop the light traveling directly at the plant would be enough, but I'm not sure! Your plants certainly turned out fine so I won't be worried any more!

I was going to put some electrical tape over the lighted (orange) power button on my power strip but never got around to it. I probably won't worry about it on my next grow as I am trying Autos.

In theory, if it's less bright than the moon it shouldnt be a problem, right?
I just pretend that the red on my power bars is a fancy far red light for at night XD

Jeez. I don't post for two days and my thread gets messy. I've been working A LOT so I just haven't had the energy. Anyway, here they are Day 38 from seed.

Smalls' name is becoming more ironic every day. I actually had to raise the light up a couple inches. Lots of bud sites!

Even Bender (white widow) has grown a couple inches and I am loving watching the cola form on her.

Adorable lil gals Scrump! .

Day 40 from seed: If I knew they were going to be so different in height, I would have done a light for each girl. Also my humidity seems to be hovering around 30% and there's nothing I can do about it short of spraying the tent down whenever I'm home. Smalls (AK48) seems to have finally slowed down the vertical growth at around 16" and bushy while Bender (white widow) seems to have topped out at 8" with a stout tight nug formation. Somebody direct me to the bonsai contest because even though she's tiny, she's getting nice and frosty. Anyway, here they are.

Day 44 from seed. Sorry I haven't updated in a few days. Been extremely busy at work. Girls still doing good. Smalls (AK48) has gotten up to 19" and Bender (white widow) is up to 9" haha. Just a couple quick snaps of them sleeping. Also got another viparspectra 450 on it's way.

Wow really starting to fill out! Nice man!

Help! Woke up to about three of the lowest leaves on Smalls (AK48) a nasty shade of yellow and one with a big brown spot. The rest of the plant looks great. I just watered last night. Still at 48 oz of 50% nute water and full cal mag. I hope this doesn't spread, but I don't have time to research until I get home from work. Any ideas what may have caused this? I know the light doesn't reach those leaves as well anymore now that the plant is a little bushier so is it possible they just weren't getting enough light or maybe just focusing more energy toward the flowers? Or could it be something worse. Thanks for any advice.

Definitely light not hitting leaves will cause that.

If it's showing up on more than one leaf though it's usually food related, make sure your watering enough to break up salts in the medium.and id consider bumping nutes up to 3/4 strength and 3.5 mL per gallon cal mag

I i usually just end up trimming leaves like that and as long as the plants being fed well you wont have a problem!

Also if you haven't flushed at all it might be time to start planning for one!

It's just the three and they are all at the bottom. I meant to post this a while ago but I did knock the nutes up to 75% about a week ago and the plants were showing signs of nute burn so I put it back down to 50%

If it's not spreading I wouldn't be too worried! Are you noticing it moving up to other leaves?

I only noticed it this morning so I'll have to wait to find out. I really do think it's just the bottom leaves not getting enough light anymore. I got a second 450 but I need to buy another timer before I can set it up

Yea couple leaves are no issue, it's usually if it starts spreading n you see funky new growth then it's time to put a plan in action. For now just watch and research the symptoms and you'll be ready if action time comes .
