I truly admire a man who does his research and studying and then can put the plan into action.
I've seen so many, too many, who say they hate to read and then wonder why they had such a difficult time trying to grow.
You get my applause!

thanks roseman the reading can be hard to adzorb in one sitting, but we just have to read again and the pics help too, you just can't be lazy and not read.

i totally agree i researched from july till march before i decided to order anything and like most new growers here (at least on the Deep Water Culture forum) if it wasnt for Rosemans very informative post i would prollyh not have the luck ive had with my first grow

yes roseman guides are a great asset here for sure, i can't thank him enough i know he is getting tired of hearing it from me, i would love to actually meet him face to face one so i could shake his hand

every thing is looking good this morning, i will be gone all week to the river the wife is on vacation and i will be going to dialysis down there, my son will be taking care of my medicine while i am gone
he should be ok i have written everything down in an easy to read format for him to go by, but Roseman if you don't mind i am going to give him my user-name so he can pm you if he has a problem i can't handle over the phone.
the wife has started to complain about the smell when i open the medicine cabinet so i have ordered Ona and will build bucket when i get back.
temp at 70
rh at 60%
ppm at 830
ph at 5.8
res temp at 65
cj has become a monster for sure
gg is a bush with some fat a** leaves and stems
made a rookie mistake with mb and it broke during bondage too much pressure i guess but she seems to be OK just a little shorter, i took the broken top and put it in pot and will put it in a bucket when i get back and it will be a mother

the roots are getting better
be back in a week

looking great, but id say pull the feeder tubes out of the plants that have a good root mass in the water, if the stem stays wet youll see a bruse form around the stem and you will kill the plant, stem rot sets in.

When should the pump be removed? Look at these pumps, after they were used for 4 weeks and I removed them.
Nasty looking after 4 weeks of use, aren't they? Allow me to stress or emphasize this; a submersible water pump can harbor dead debris, dead roots, and possibly mushy yukey slimey stuff that really jacks up the pH. After two weeks of use, you should give your water the sniff test to determine if the water pump is possibly spoiling the water. It should smell like fresh cut iceberg lettuce or alfalfa sprouts, and not have a bad odor. Most all water pumps have a filter in them that needs cleaning after three weeks, or get the pump out of there after 3 or 4 weeks or when the roots are well established in the deep water. A nasty filter is why you notice the need to increase the use of the pH Down after 3 or 4 weeks.
