Day 28 Update

Hey everybody!

Finally got around to doing some updates. Things are looking good, although a little slower than I would have liked. I might have a week left before the Bomb turns on the pistils but there is a good quad form happening so it will produce some good colas.
OK lets get on with it because I'm tired and need my beauty sleep, which is calculated in weeks not hours.

Let's get the THC Bomb in the spotlight again. I mentioned I removed the fans earlier than I would have liked to on this plant. Since then the growth has been slow. Although today I have seen some rebound and I think she's starting to get her bearings again.
The first pic shows the top view of the quad where the ticklers are on the first node coming out of node three and four.

Now they have been moved to node two. We keep moving them out as the nodes grow outward.

Finally, after the training, you can see the plant is opened up slightly from the center out. We'll be taking those fan leaves off that are pointing inward towards the center in a few days. There's also some nodes that I haven't shown yet that are just starting to grow under the branch. These never make it to the canopy and will also be cut off.

Next up is the GG in FFOF that is part of the twinline experiment. It's doing much better now and the first pic shows her not having any training.

The next pic has the ticklers attached to the newly inserted pegs, pulling back the nodes. Keep in mind that this is an experiment, and it didn't get pruned the way I'm trying to remember. I've spent many seconds trying to figure it out and I think I know what's missing. More on that later.

The GG in MGOS has really started to grow. It's day 14 and I was concerned around day 7 that she may not make the six nodes I'm looking for. I'm confident she will now.

Last but not least, the reason behind the empty pot pic posted earlier this week. We pulled the THC Bomb to make room for a new Bomb. Today she poked her head out and is ready to take on the experiment her relative lost her life to. This time we'll be taking the new growth off node four, and all the growth off below node three. This will leave me 2 nodes, number three and four. Node three will have new growth and node four will sport two fan leaves.
I'll leave it at that for now and will explain more in a few weeks.

:Rasta:

lol, thanks Preston! Best compliment all day!

I'm very happy with it John. Two reasons...1. it's simple to use. 2. I have 21lbs of it.

A few members I know of use it and if they catch the post I'm sure they can vouch for it's simplicity. I have v1, the older version of MC. There's a new formula out now that some members mention the calcium balls should be crushed down, but I can't speak of that. Dutch and Homer have the new formula.
I do indeed have v2 and although I haven’t really used it much (only 2 feedings on a clone that I’ve now given away lol) I’ve just got cuttings going until I’m back from the wedding where I’ll be going strictly to the Greenleaf Nutrients lineup of MegaCrop/BE/SC

It's all good, I learned how to use them last winter. I think that I'll stick with what I know and not change yet. Plus there cheap.
Thanks, have a great day.
It’s always good to stick with what you know! It’s worked this far!

Yup, it's been busy, but I like it like that. I've never been one for sitting around. I always have a project going, however I'm not very good at finishing projects. I actually started a project today to finish off my incomplete projects. It was going well until I sat down.
Dam chair got in the way again eh?

Someone else was using Mega Crop as well....I think it's me. :hmmmm:
Someone once told me weed can affect memory .... but I can’t remeber who told me :hmmmm:

You know it. So much so I still haven't moved. Partly because the fam here is awesome and sometimes I have a hard time dragging my ass away!

lol, I always remember when it doesn't matter anymore, or at least that's how I remember it.

Good family, good times, good weed!

What more could you ask for!

So true and that’s if I remember it at all

So you killed off the plant with just two leaves left to it's name?

I sure did!

When I was searching through the sponsers 2 weeks ago they were not listed on the sponser page but now I looked just after seeing your post, and see them there... interesting, they also have another code for 20% off that is tnsb20 that is the code I used for my order.
Thanks PD. I thought I seen one that looked like mag20 or similar. I guess they give 20% off all the time.

Day 31 Update

Hey everybody!

It's been a busy couple of hours getting this update ready as there is much to discuss. So, off we go.

The THC Bomb Quad in FFOF was do for a light defol and node removal. What this involved was the removal of the first set of the four fan leaves pointing towards the center of the plant. These are typically the biggest leaves pointing inwards. The pic below tries to show that.

Once those leaves have been removed your plant by now should look similar to this next pic. The four main leaves have been removed and you can see the center of the plant now. You will notice another set also pointing towards the center. That is what I call the second set. Leave those alone for now.

The next pics may be hard to understand, and the instructions may not be much better. Under the plant where the new nodes have been growing, one of those nodes has a fan leaf underneath and a node growing from it. There will be two... one closer to the bottom of the plant, and the other higher up from another node.
We only want to remove the lower one for now.
The first pic tries to show the node to be removed, and the next pic after the node is gone. This is done on all four branches.

Once that's all done I did some light training. The purpose of the quad is to get all your nodes growing at the same height. I added a new row of pegs closer to the outside of the pots now which you can see in the next pic. Notice how uneven the plant is growing from the side view.

From here I tied down the branches by hooking my tickler underneath a node so as to damage new growth. I only bend the ticklers up on the peg, so if I bang the pot or the plant grows faster than I thought, the tickler will give before the plant snaps.

Now take a look at how even the canopy is. The outside branches are now being pulled down to grow with all that new inner growth.

Finally, a top view of the THC Bomb after defol and training. The structure has really taken shape now and has allowed the inner growth to get all the light it needs right now.

OK, on to the GG in FFOF. This is getting more like the structure we are looking for. Already the stalk has gotten fatter than the others and it's obvious why it's called a twinline now.

This GG is hard to train. The nodes remain tight so pulling it out takes patience. You can see in the next pic I'm only slowly opening up from the center right now. There's not much else to report on her until those nodes start to grow out.

Next up is the GG in MGOS. She's now on Day 17 and her fourth node is showing with the fifth just coming in. Like her sister in FFOF, she's a slow starter. I believe I will try uppotting this strain of auto next time to see if there is a difference. My understanding is plants don't really take off vertically until the roots hit the sides of the pots.

Last, and never the least, is my newest star the THC Bomb in MGOS. Started fast, just like her sister and is doing just fine. She will be my other twinline with a different type of topping when it comes time.

Overall it was a very productive day. The plants are getting little water as they haven't shown a need for it. Keeping a good RH has really helped that I do believe. If you have any questions on today's update then keep them to yourself. I gotta go get high. OK post them, I'll answer after I go get high!

Beautiful job Mr. S!! The only thing I can think of to tack on (for information’s sake only, yours is fab) is, when you’re pulling down those arms, make sure they’re still at an upward angle and not out flat. Like a wide Y, if that makes sense?

Absolutely correct HH! It helps with the structure of the plant and allows them to hold the colas better. My plan is to run them out a little more then let the outer pegs go. They wont have time to maintain that flat shape and will go straight up after that.
Great point and one I didn't touch on!

:thanks:

They're all autos, so whenever they tell me :) I'll drop the lights to 20/4 when they start to show pistils.
My, my, my, things just got a lot more interesting here!!:popcorn::popcorn:
Quadautos? Quautos? Quadtoes? :thumb: Either way, I’m staying tuned.
