Salt N Pepa: Back Again

I have one in my room next to the crate but for some reason it stays at 46% i do have the biggest one and the next step down for the bedrooms but i dont have one small enough to fit in the crate. Im gonna get one from amazon and hope i can keep it up until it gets here

I spritzed a little water on the buds and put them in a paper bag and in the fridge they went. No matter what i did i couldn't raise the humidity level... Ughhhhh im not gonna put anything in dirt yet cuz im gonna use the tent to dry the nb. Its bigger so i think i can use the humidifier i have in there to keep it higher for a few days. I know 4 days is to early for the buds to be crispy. I dont wanna lose to much of the pineapple flavor

Folks in dry climates do have a shorter hang time before they need to jar, but that won't change the taste/smell after a month of curing if it's done right.

Into jars at 68-70% RH and then a slow burp down to 62% should give you the equivalent in final taste as a longer hang-dry. The first couple of weeks are for off-gassing the chlorophyll. It's the nice long cure that brings out the goodness in the flowers.

What do i do about the nb's leaves? They are starting to dry out and break off. I do see more then enough amber and cloudy but she still has new growth for hairs. Should i chop? Or do i wait to see if the hairs start to brown up?

Ive got her in 3 dif jars. I have a bovida pack in each jar and they hydrometer in one says 47% and its been about an hour. I really hope it gets a bit higher. I did sample and it doesnt taste like much but i got a really good buzz... Hopefully a month in the closet will make a world of difference and hits smooth by christmas. Im on the fence with the nb. Im gonna take pics of the amber trichomes and the hairs

Here is what she looks like farther out and up close

Before i forget this is from the chop. Im gonna weigh out the total it wasnt a whole lot but im not dissapointed by any means. I am gonna be happier when i can use the tent to dry. I'll have the space to have the humidifier out and hope that will give me enough to not have it dry out so fast.

Chop by trichomes at this point. Some plants will shoot new pistils forever! Get out that scissors since I think you said no to amber.

Take out the Boveda as it's keeping you from getting an accurate reading of the actual buds. Seal the jar for 8-12 hours at room temp to see where the RH settles.

I had the boveda cause i couldnt get it higher then 40% in the jars but i just took them out. Im setting my alarm for when she wakes up then I'll chop. I feel there is enough amber to be happy but their all cloudy so thats good.

If the buds are really at 40% then the Boveda won't help anyway. I don't think it can't move a jar more than ~5% in either direction of its target RH. And it takes days to even do that.

If they settle much below 55% on their own then curing won't happen. On the plus side, they still have all the THC they did when you harvested them!

Another harvest! :yahoo:

Oh so sad they smell so much better then the gsc in jars.... One day im gonna get this drying shit down.

It was only 16 grams... It surprisingly doesnt hit bad but i think the sweetness of the plant is what helps that. At least I'll have something around while the nb dries. A buddy of mine brought over some decent shit until mine dried so im in no way dry for the waiting game. I just really wish i had a better system to dry. I may have to go down to one plant at a time just so i can use the tent for all stages.

Lol WI is the worst place ever... Spring or fall seems to be the only time i can get humidity here. I was gonna do the box but it made me nervous to have no air flow. I just have to figure out how to create the right environment.

The idea is to get the outside of the buds dry in the first 24 hours to lower the chance of mold, and then slow the drying process down for the rest of the time. If you have a hygrometer you can put in the box you can check it and see whether it needs more or less air.

I use a big sealable box with holes drilled on the bottom of one side and the top of the lid. When I need to dry faster I aim a fan at the lower holes and the air comes out of the top. When I want to slow it down I will lower the fan speed or make it oscillate or close some holes. It's a dance!
