While I have a filter on the intake, I wonder how much it helps. As soon as I open up the room, I'm defeating the whole purpose. I guess it helps the other 80% of the time when I'm not in there working ('working' being a euphemism for sitting and staring at the plants). :yummy:

Well been working on both veg and flowering plants since 1030pm and its 144am more could be done but its enough for tonight. will have a couple of hours in the morning. i know myself enough that if i push it harder for two hours now my production will be less effective than at 8am after 6 hours of shuteye (thanks San Jose). have bunhes of pics to show n tell tomorrow. this journal will be a great tool for newbies to see what can work and even more imp. what could be done better and what not to do. If just 1 person can tack on a little more grower talent from learning fom my mistakes then mision accomplished. hopefully I will learn alot also, kinda counting on you guys and gals ( I know you are out there looking in from time to time lol) to yell ROOKIE MOVE AZ when Im Fing up. Thanks ahead of time.

Either beginners luck or hes got one hell of a green thumb lol, I got his cousin growing GDP cross Larry OG, post away brother glad to have a fellow Az growa. Awesome pic.

Will be pic time in a few hours still aint home yet, I can't wait

and I only hope that 1 day I can grow.

LA CONFIDENTIAL seedling, think this is the one that is way bigger, the sead of the bigger one was over twice the size of the other and the seedlings are the same, 1 way bigger. Thinking one is going to be a male

Here is a few before and after a solo Grand Daddy Purple cross Larry OG, the seed was from a MMJ Dispensary in Southern California 2011, its looks to be female by the pre flowers. last year I grew out one of the 6 seeds I had and it ended up being absolutely superb I am hoping for the same phenotype but I aint getting my hopes up. The seedling grew for a while in a 2L and by the pic of the roots it needed to get a bigger home, not sure why halfway thru the root zone its so much darker colored? As always when I transplant I give them a little bit of BPN's "Root Magic"

OK so the genetics in the room are this: OG Kush from Res. Priv. The Purps aka Mendo Purps, G13's Raw Diesel, GDP x Larry OG, LA Confidential, Dr Grinspoon, NL#5 x Haze. All but the nl5 x haze and Dr Grinspoon were single seed promos or UFO's Unbelievable Free Offers so what I am trying to say is all these plants are from 8 seeds two being actually paid for for a grand total of 45 dollars. Lots of free seeds and cuttngs were taken to get the plants where they are. The NL5xhaze seems really expensive at 32 per but with that one and the Dr. Grinspoon being 12 the 45 US Dollars is a small price for me to pay to have access to so many different strains.
I hope you all enjoyed the pics of the work I did last night, I stayed up working from approx. 1030pm to well after 230 am.
Next work party I will install another 30 amp circuit at 120 volts for a dedicated line for the 14000 btu portable a/c, I will cut a hole in the ceiling to add ducting and a 8" Vortec style vent fan and have it controlled by a C.A.P. Atmosphere controller. This coming Sunday 3/3 there is a chance it wll get to 70 degrees F, so I have no time to waste RH is starting to become an issue and I dont want to lose all the hard work and healthy plants to a couple of hour of work and some equipment thats not currently being used. I'll be back with more pics soon

I usually use scissors when I top plants, but your method looks fine to me. :)

I did have a question about the plant you're topping. Is that a clone? Plants don't usually start doing the alternating node thing until much later in life, right?

Regarding your question about the soil colors. In that picture, it looks like you have removed the label from the 2L and the line is where the label used to be, ie the lighter area was under the label and the darker area would have been exposed to the light. Maybe something is growing in the soil down there that makes it a little darker. That, or the bottom has more moisture, so it looks darker. You're just seeing the line dividing the dry soil and the still moist soil. Probably both theories are wrong, but those are my ideas :)

Thanks Hiker, that makes sense and I really think your right. the plant I was topping in fact every plant in that room except for the seedlings are clones. All those plants including the once in the tent flowering away are from 8 seeds:) Ronnie I used the aero cloner back in Late Dec. until the Middle of Jan, thats what the bigger clones are from, I used plain old tap and they got as high as 76ish. This last time I had something inhibiting them from rooting so I pulled them out after 10 days and recut them redipped them and let em finish in rooter plugs. Since I am out of the rooters and have about 100 rock wool cubes that is how I will clone next round. So far I liked the aero the best cause once they were rooted and ready to put in coco there was nothing but clone and roots.

I've seen a video of this method. Never tried it myself, but it looks like it works great. I've mostly tried to FIM recently, so I just pinch the top off with a thumbnail.

Great LST! Seems like a lot of work to do for four or five tops, though. Wouldn't a few rounds of toppings and/or FIMs get you more tops?

Yeah, to be honest I was just experimenting to see what certain methods would do, figured if its female i will keep her for a mommy for a while, if i was going for straight production I would have done it different. Good noticing though, thanks

Got to have something up there, gets pretty gosh darn lonely at times, it's starting to take its toll on the wife and kids but she's understanding and is fully aware that until the cabin is dialed there is going to be alot of time apart, of course once its the way it will be and fully functioning then there is harvests that will be lots of hours and days trimming but the beauty of that is she actually enjoys trimming and is WAY better than I am, honestly I havn't ever seen anyone who is better at trimming than my wife. I will take pics of her trim job and mine and then you all will see what I'm talking about. She could trim for High Times photo shoots no prob. Only problem is I aint got nothing to trim! YET lol
All Yall have a good one, im going to crash out for 4 hours and get up in the middle of the night to get my seed order in for the big birthday promo and hope the Cookies aren't sold out, well see.
