Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

Hey bud, hope all is well in your world! Just getting back into the 420 world here and you were one of the first old dirty dogs I’d wanted to check up on!!

I'm sitting on the porch mumbling to myself most of the time, but I'm still here. :smokin2:

Sorry to bother. Do you get foxtailing on your SSDC's? Mine isn't bad, in fact I think she looks mighty fine, but I thought I might ask

Mumbling with a mutt by your side makes you appear slightly less insane to the strangers that might observe you.

Where's the fun in that ?

You've got a ways to go. Looks to me like those calyces will fatten and fill the bud structure you're looking for. The last two weeks of flower can boost harvest weight by a great deal.

Well lookee there... Cannabis growing in dirt. Who'da thunk it was possible? My solo dirt girl is also alive and thriving and i am pleasantly surprised.
Looking good man.

Thanks Laz. This has been surprisingly easy... and cheap. o_O

If you were to sit in Teads world for a moment, you'd swear it only grows in perlite!

I saw your perlite logs. Use them out front for Christmas decorations. Dare ya. :adore:

Today is Day 30 so I thought I'd look back at my notes and see if I could compare this grow to the last time I grew the SSDC in DWC.

No comparison.

To date growing in soil I have used 39ml of AN m,g,b and 8 gallons of water for ALL four plants I'm growing. The SSDC are currently between 13 and 15 inches tall.

The last time I grew the SSDC, by Day 30 I had used 85ml of m,g,b for EACH plant and 15 gallons apiece. The plants were between 28 and 30 inches tall on Day 30 and topped out at 48 and 50 inches.

The power of DWC will not be denied !

Defo man, dwc is biiig fast, but lugging around all that water and dumping nutes becomes a chore and hard on the wallet. I am in love with hempy and so is my wallet. Gotta come up with the cash for a quantum board yet to cut my electric bill and i think i will settle into a perlite filled rut. Lol

It's an easy rut to fall into ehh?
I compounded the problem by using Osmo with the config.... no nutes. Serious rut territory. Not the best bud, but stupid easy.

I could get into a rut like that, but I'd have to grow 365. I'm addicted to the large harvests of my buckets.

I used to claim Lazy Grower status, but after hempys and this soil grow, i realize us waterheads work our asses off.

So what kinda weigh are you pulling of your ladies and how long does a plant usually take ya to trim up? I ve got one to harvest today and it takes me on average about 4 hrs a plant! Sure would love a mini bud trimmer if there is such a thing. I guess I shouldn’t bitch, it’s only every month and a half I have to do one:rolleyes:
Give that o ll mutt a pat on the head and a belly rub for me in between farts and ramble s;):peace:

Just came back online and wanted to swing by here to say hi...and it seems like just in time...LOL.

So...you finally giving into the dark side?

Like 2 posts back you are the power of DWC cannot be denied and then you follow it with but us hydro guys are working way too hard...LOL

So work twice as hard in soil and it is still way easier right?

Cheers mate!

Out of *all* of my grows in The last four years I am averaging ~6oz per plant. That includes a one lb sativa and a couple of half oz hempys grows. Most of the time my harvests are two day ordeals, chopping four plants. When I'm done everything has been cleaned and ready to be put back in use while the buds dry in another room.

Greetings VI. :ciao: I'm doing a soil grow due to surgery and not being able to lug buckets around the house yet. 35 lbs is a bit over my ability for now. :( I should be back to waterhead working by Jan 1st.

There is no doubt I could work twice as hard at a soil grow and it'd still be less work than DWC... if I considered DWC work. :hmmmm: To me it's a place to get lost in a task for an hour or so a day, or ten hours a week.

This is almost a boring grow. I've only watered twice since planting the beans ~35 days ago, slow growth means no plucking or tucking going on, yep a boring grow.

What have you got going on ? Any greenhouse growing in your new river valley yet ?

Sorry to hear about the surgery and hope it leads to an improved situation.

I meant by that...you could double your crop size and almost annual yield for less work...but I not only get it but those are the same reasons I do hydro.

Also the same reasons I do organic.

The plant is just showing you an example of what the roots are seeing so inswitxh focus to managing a loving soil. That is where the fun is for me these days.

I still enjoy trying new teas...the plant thing is sort of what evaz... it like I said is just a reflection of its source.

But you nailed it. The growing part is boring even in hydro. You gotta find something more than just tucking and talking to them to keep in interesting. And I do enjoy the peaceful time alone in the tent.

Tuesday I get my stuff out of storage and have a computer again.

I may get a grow started over the winter. I want to build a barn next to my house and then grow there. It will take a few years. But I have the permits for a barn with power water and sewage. I have all the utilities already drug out. I just need some time and cash. My wife wants a pool.

ehh.... it's rut like any other. Avoid it if you can do better.

Holy crap man... if you gotta pull permits, you know you're in for some work!

Nice to see you around. Hell... Laz, Village Idiot.... it's gettin prehistoric around here!

Well you can build structures illegally and then when somone complains deal with the county wanting to see if the budding is safe...or get it legit and people have to stay off your property. Retirement plan since it is legal here now...but man the competition. Akers it not worth it. Something like 25k medical licenses and 2k commercial. The commercial guys here ... most are going out of business. The rules for growing medical are better. And it is easier doing a reasonable sized grow on the side not a farm.

Who knows what I will do but I will have a hard time not growing weed out here.

Day 36. SSDC all out growing the Sour Crack. It did have a strange start though, kind of grew like a clone. Here's to hoping it puts out some rock hard grenades of goodness. :passitleft:
