Rifleman's - Multi-Strain Auto Grow - 600W - Hydro

IMO it appears Overdrive is pretty "hot"... Do you plan on adjusting your regimen to accommodate the extra PPM of Overdrive, or you just going to add it atop your standard feeding?

I've been doing a lot of reading on just that Cogreen. Next water change there are going to be some adjustments. I have some burnt tips and I need to add some cal-mag, I'm getting some deficiency. AAMOF being the stoner I am, I forgot to turn my fans back up last night after taking the photos and today Q1 has some ugly curling on her larger fan leaves where the deficiency is. Oh well, can't change it now. I plan to drop the m,g,b some to make room for both the cal-mag and the Big Bud and later Overdrive.

I'll probably spend some time today or tomorrow mixing a gallon or two separately to see where the ppm falls. Thanks for the heads up though. It'd be a shame to get this far and burn them all to a crisp.

Day 46

57 hours from another water change and my girls are thirsty. Weekly totals so far; Q1-12.5 quarts, ST-9.5 quarts, and BK-13 quarts. Forgot to turn my fans back up last evening and turned a few already deficient leaves on Q1 crispy. Not too bad and can't change it now....Zen. On a side note I will be keeping track of the experiment at the bottom of my regular updates here. I don't see a need to start another journal just for it as I plan to kill it shortly after this harvest so I can start a top feed, drain to waste project.:)

EXP - We have germination! My tap water has been bubbling in a bucket for a couple of days now. Beginning ph is now 8.82 with a ppm of 177. I mixed in my nutrients at one half recommended dosage for cuttings and seeds. I put in 7.5 ml each of the m, g, b, and 9ml of hydroguard. 90 minutes of bubbling later ph was 8.23, ppm 378, for a nutrient level of 201ppm.This will be home for the plant until I see roots through the basket into the solution and a couple sets of true leaves. I expect to change it out around 11-25-15. I will be checking ph but I will not adjust it. Time to see if I can trust the nutrients and quit chasing ph. Time will tell. :)

Based on my ad-hoc testing it appears 1ml of Overdrive only adds 30-40PPM to a gal of solution (water / nutes)... I expected it to be hotter, so I'll be interested to see what your testing produces. If you remember please post your findings on this topic and I'll try to watch for them in your updates.

Thanks man, and have a nice weekend if I don't talk to ya!

With nothing better to do today, I worked on my nutrient mix for the next water change. I took 1 gallon of water, and used 1/4 the amount nutrients that I would use in the 4 gallons I put into my buckets. This gallon should show me the ppm equal to the ppm when everything is mixed into the larger recipe. I checked my base ppm, and then again after each additional item was placed in the mix. Here are my findings by listed ingredient and ppm measurement. The number in parentheses is the ppm amount for that ingredient only.

Water 168 (168)
CalMag 8ml/4 gal 291 (123)
Micro 21ml/4 gal 514 (223)
Grow 21ml/4 gal 714 (200)
Bloom 21ml/4 gal 843 (129)
Big Bud 13ml/4 gal 909 (66)
Big Bud 26ml/4 gallons 965 (122)

Total of 965 ppm minus the original water of 168 ppm leaves me a nutrient soup of approx. 797ppm.
Q1 has been running at 740 748ppm with slight burnt tips.
ST has had no problems at 725 ppm
BK will be getting a break from the 910ppm she got last week. She also has the most burnt tips.

Questions? Advice? Want to tell me I am wrong? Too much Big Bud? Let's hear it, I am flying with a wing and a prayer here as I've never used Big Bud before. The second notation for it is almost full strength. But for faulty math and a smokey haze in the Northfork Kitchen Lab it would have been a full dose.

Peace, Luke

What's up luke. I'm no hydro gut but I can tell you in my experience with burnt tips....it's not the big bud your fine there... it's NPK value is 0-1-3 no nitrogen that usually causes it.... the base nutes is where I have to adjust when I get the tips.... can I see a pic? A small burn on the tip is actually good sometimes to see here's why... autos need to be pushed as hard as possible with out going over... if you get slight burn on a mature plant it doesn't hurt just back it down and you know your in the sweet spot....

To fix your tip problem you can customize your feed with GMB or just back them all down a hair and I think you'll be golden

Thanks Atrain. That's the way it was thinking too. I am backing off of the m,g,b just a bit for everyone and will go nearly full dosage Big Bud. The tips are just slightly burnt as you can see. I've never grown a perfectly pretty plant, and these aren't going to be either. :)

I am jealous, I can not get my roots to be so white ):

I don't know how I manage to do it. Solution temperature is 72.5° I use AN nutrients, Hydroguard, and run my air pump WFO. Well there, I guess I do know how I do it. :) Truly it has all been luck for me. I have been successful almost by accident.

So, I see your photo.... don't want to ruin the surprise.... and go searching and zooming in close all around your image. I thought I was looking for some little specific small thing... you know... like a funny insect or a frog (had one the other day!). I spend a good minute or two searching.
I gave up.... zoomed back out and said a little "wow... those are awesome roots" in the back of my mind. I started scrolling down to find out what little treasure I missed.
Fun. Thanks. Incredible roots!

You had a frog or an insect? Frog in a grow room would be a 1st ive heard:hmmm:

My grow room exists in an outdoor shed. Wildlife of various forms occasionally find a way in, tho I know not how.
