Rider 509 - Out Of The Pan & Into The Fire - Gold Leaf - 2017

I wouldn't consider myself OCD but I do like a clean tidy work area. That a pretty nice environment you've created for your girls Rider. The White Widows are obviously loving it, the LST is definitely gonna pay off. Are you planning to scrog those three?

That was the original plan but I'm not sure now. Bonnie and Booby were topped and LST'd and would be great to scrog. I didn't top Beth so she's au natural, like a hairy hippy chick. I'm torn between just leaving her be or trying to bring her down to the same canopy height as the others. I'm not sure if I've waited too long. Is it even still possible?
I'm going to pull her out and see if I can top her and create a six branch pinwheel without destroying her.

Back to the Gold Leaf! It is hard to imagine what's going on under the Hydroton because even at this very early seedling stage there are roots evident on the outside of these 6" net pots. Crazy stuff, Maynard.

I had to do something to make room to reach the whole White Widow grow during the ScrOG so I elevated the Gold Leaf RDWC. The reservoir is still at ground level and water is pumped up to the Gold Leafs. I'll have to reposition the filter and fan eventually to get enough height for the CFL lights as the Gold Leaf grows.

Quick and dirty update. I topped and defol'd both plants yesterday. They don't seem any worse for the wear today. I'm cloning the tops of both plants. The hope is that after the White Widow finishes I'll have four huge Gold Leafs with the tent all to themselves and ready to go 12/12. Best laid plans though, right? :)

The Gold Leaf was slow to germinate but it makes up for it in speed of growth later. This strain should be perfect for a scrog. Mine is on hold in the veg state until I can clear the White Widow out of the tent. I'm really looking forward to what this Gold Leaf will do once I can give it my attention.
