I wanna see that! Do it!I may do coco; I have a bag I bought a couple years ago. I will need too re-hydrated it, because the last time I check it, it was all dried out.
So, I may just give coco a try if I don't do LOS.

That's a nice side-by-side grow plan. Are you going to use any amendments, or nutes?I just started two auto's and two fem's.
I will be using compost/manure in two and a California Super soil for the other two.
Sounds like wonderful plan for a low stress grow. I know what you mean about not giving up on the DWC, it's fun (and somewhat satisfying) playing in the dirt- but the growth rate for DWC/hydro is unbeatable.@Rexer I have been playing with dirt during the hotter months over the last couple years, but I am not ready to give up DWC yet. Let's say this is a first steps in learning about LOS.
They will be water only for about three months, so the auto's will be fine.
I picked up a box of Neem Seed Meal slow release nutrients/insecticide, for the fem's, should they need it.
That's a nice bush! Did you train it to be low and wide or did it just grow that way? Nothing negative but I think I was expecting something much bigger given the age and pot size.I've got two Photoperiods in soil that were started last winter/spring.
Here is that plant now (in a 50 gallon fabric pot):
So pretty! And of course DWC means eventual root porn! Here is my Gorilla Glue Auto in DWC
My second plant ever was an AK-47 auto, and it was everyone's favorite happy weed. Here is the 100% Hydroton RDWC Ak-47 Auto that will soon be harvested
She just got a bump in cal mag
I started her off in a solo cup. Once i transplanted her into a 3 gallon pot, i trained her to follow the edge of the pot. Ive done a lot of work with her to keep her as low as i could, including the use of a Scrog net. That's a nice bush! Did you train it to be low and wide or did it just grow that way?
No offense taken in the least! My goal was a lofty one pound, she'll hit that and more, so im quite happy with her. And honestly, the picture doesn't do her justice. She has around 25-30 colas, each one is almost a small plant in its own right (3 feet each or so).Nothing negative but I think I was expecting something much bigger given the age and pot size.
d'oh! I knew I forgot something last night, the root shot! Her roots are starting to get nice sized, I expect her to explode come stretch. So pretty! And of course DWC means eventual root porn!
Awesome to hear! I'm more of an Indca guy, so I was on the fence. My second plant ever was an AK-47 auto, and it was everyone's favorite happy weed.
Rexstead, love it.So it's been a bit since I posted in here!
A small recap of what's been happening at the RexStead.
Right now, I'm growing in 4 different mediums, a new personal record...two of which are new to me for growing (soil and coco).
So while this journal is about Hydroponics, I will have some soil included from my summer grow(s).
I've been busy to say the least...just keeping on top of the plants, and life have prevented me from doing much Journaling on here. Hopefully I'll get a nice RDWC cabinet grow documented this winter.
So, the soil plants...I've got two Photoperiods in soil that were started last winter/spring.
Here is that plant now (in a 50 gallon fabric pot):
(That's 4 feet long, and 3 feet wide)
And here's a small experiment I did that I will be repeating going forward.
When transplanting, I buried the plant down to the first node, and scraped some of the outter "bark" off to increase the roots- the results?
Roots are right up to the soil line
Thanks Jon. I figured an update was due lol.Whoa! What a return! That AK - awesome. That a big auto!!! Gorgeous work. Bury up through the first node, eh? Very interesting Rex. Please keep posting!
Thank you!Rexstead, love it.
Great shot of that double Stump.
hell no! Mine is a singular- yours is Stump after Stump. Doing it once is easy, multiple ones showing the same consistency across all of them, is the touch of a pro.Blows my Stump shots away.
Ahh you like my lazy system eh?Hey what about your watering pictorial or video would be better.
That coco system is a dream.
Thank you brother, you tooEverything looks fantastic Mucker.
Take care.
Stay safe

I would think this also applies to yellowing lower leaves in flower, yes?Doing it once is easy, multiple ones showing the same consistency across all of them, is the touch of a pro.
Yeah she's loosing the odd one, most are low and doesn't appear to be from a deficiency .I would think this also applies to yellowing lower leaves in flower, yes?
I've had it before on an Auto. The long spears seems to be consistent with past growing of the strain. She just didn't bulk too nicely. I'll probably get maybe 100g (dried and cured).Does anyone else think the top on that outdoor auto looks oddly like a reveg.
Not yours silly, mine! I was wondering if me always having those made me a pro.Yeah she's loosing the odd one, most are low and doesn't appear to be from a deficiency
Nice work.Currently, she sucks the 50 gallon pot dry in 3 to 4 days.
Well that's a sweet stack right there! Here's some pics of a previous grow with this strain.
Thanks N420!What a return! Beautiful plants everywhere, Great work Rex!
Yup I do actually . My garage "back in the day" was a barn. Previous owners converted it. And it's where they (the soil plants) will finish off, as it will most likely be too cold outside come harvest.Wow, that SagaView plant is incredible. Just huge and green and healthy as can be. You got a barn to hang it in? Lmao!
