Regrowth: Growing Clones & Getting Stoned

Hey Regrowth, I have limited experience, but do know that the Promix HP bag says to damped or moisten the medium. I may have been a plant or two deep before I read those instructions!

OG creator of this now closed thread was called out to in your thread here, so you are soon on your way!
:goodluck:

Ok reg, I see you using metric there, so i will tell you my exact dosage, in metric, no converting

MMy calkulations say, and i mix up in eight liter batches, so

FFor eight litres of maxed out fert according to the calculator is

12.7 grams per 8 liters of water

TThat is what the online calkulator, says,is max flowering fert

AAt 12.7 g I had plants that looked very, very,, did I say very? much like yours. and btw I still battle with that look even overferting

SSo I feed, for my max dosage, 14 g per eight liters,, and now I keep near all my fan leaves all the way to harvest, healthy fan leaves

JJust for a wee bit o precision first thing in the a.m.

CCheers friend,, karma sent

Don't jinx it @Trala, the spider mite infestation may have passed. I should treat the plants like Schrodinger's cat and not open the tent to look. It's the act of observation that's killing them. Hopefully your girls are doing well.
Get out there and enjoy those sunsets or I'll send some snow your way.

Btw, I noticed you're in kelowna, it's such a beautiful spot.

indeed it is,, we enjoy it here,, simply spectacular spring summers and falls and a lot of folks would suggest winters as well,, but not this folk. bearable,, but not spectacular

but the spring,, my fav,, oh my

and of course the summer is a bit well known

might i ask your area or residence? i have been around a bit,, we mighta been neighbours once,, :ciao:

oh,, i see that post,, friend,, spider mite infestations do 'not' just pass

you have friends possibly for life

did i mention diligence before? or was that another thread?

research every possible weapon now cuz near none of em work completely

i only ridde my mite problem when i stopped growing in soil.

the mites were coming in with the soil, or the peat moss,, i re infested myself constantly

and with the soil or moss i also once or three times got fungus gnats and even thrips,, tho i coulda brot them in

just trying to point out that mites are buggers,, they get into the darkest corners of the plant, and other places as well

If the mites become a reoccurring thing I'll be upset but mostly I'm at fault for even allowing clones from someone else into my tent. I didn't attempt to cut my own from the MOB clones I had going because I had battled mites with them outdoors. I didn't want to risk it - yet here I am.

I'll do a thorough cleaning after I finish this round and try adding a few more tools to the belt so I'm more prepared for these situations. I'll probably wind up bringing mites back inside with my outdoor crops or random bags I pickup either way. Karma sent.

I'm in northern Ontario but I was lucky enough to travel to BC twice nearly a decade ago. I had family in Penticton.
My first time there was some issues with flights due to the winter weather, I ended up taking a scenic route from Vancouver through to Penticton on a greyhound. The second time was smoother, I landed in Kelowna as intended and family picked me up from there. Apart from the beautiful mountains, the weed was some of the best.
I remember a lot of Kush strains with that velvet smoke. Just how I'd describe it lol

Next time just isolate them separately from your crop and once they've been treated then you could join them together. Hasn't this pandemic teach you isolation process yet? :laughtwo: :laughtwo:

I did a small spritz of insecticidal soap again. Was planning to transplant but can't be assed today. This foliage is from one of the GSC clones. Most of it was dead enough to fall off with a little shake and the rest with a little pull. I hit them with a nutrient increase as suggested and they are now drinking at the recommended max for veg. One of my drip trays is cracked and I had a mess of water to clean up from the runoff... so much fun.

Will hopefully know in a week or so how they respond.

i know that look all too well friend,, even now

and keep in mind,, it is natural for the lower leaves to kinda do that as the plant progresses thru maturity but one dos not want to see that too soon

I transplanted into 5 gallon containers and started using the SCROG a bit.
I thought upping the MegaCrop dosage stopped the GSC clones from yellowing but it's back in effect.
I'm at 5g/4L now and mix 16L at a time (each plant having 4L every 5 or so days). Math homework.
Apart from some minor defoliation very little has been done to them. They sure are bushy a.f

Unfortunately, I showed them very little attention and didn't keep up with proper pest maintenance for a few weeks.
In my defense I was sick but that was enough for the poor things to be rampaged by mites. Notably, the GSC clones were effected whereas the MOAB clones don't seem to be as desirable to the attackers. Mites generally go after weaker or dying plants and prefer a single host so it's not surprising. I've decided to unscrog for now and try another treatment method since they've likely adapted to the safers solution or will soon enough. Doctor DOOM was recommended to me by a local grower. I'm doing a full on assault with it; Spray 3 times in 9 days then every week afterwards until the problem is neutralized. This isn't the manufacturer's recommended application, however I'd argue it's necessary to win this war. The gnats are still around too but they are a lesser evil and don't kill things like the mites do. I guess my new years resolution is to get rid of pests lol.

Happy holidays.

I think they look good Regrowth.

Are mites Aphids?

I actually hate the thought of a scrag net or what ever they are called as a rule, but you make it look good.

Happy New Year, let the growing adventures for 2021 begin!

:)

I'll probably be flipping to 12/12 this week. The MOBs are in the front now and GSCs in the back.

A while back I encountered a post detailing how to preserve cuttings in the fridge.
If someone could send me a link to that post it would be much appreciated.

I'm considering switching to a 1000 watt HPS rig to flower as I'm under the impression that my LED fixture will under perform given my area is bigger than the recommendation of the manufacturer.

Mars website has 'recently bought together' showing a 4x4 tent and that had a part in my ordering the two together. People are running a 6500 in a 4x4?
My budget is tight so this is unfortunate but someone is willing to lend me a ballast to use.

If I want to improve my LED coverage on the cheap, is there some recommendation for supplementary lighting?

They were flipped to 12/12 yesterday after a fairly large defoliation below the canopy.
I didn't switch lights yet and might consider just sticking it out... for science.
I know @DonkeyDick does fine with the same light and a similar sized area.

No one answered about the storage of cuttings and my searching skills are lacking. Or I'm probably just stoned.
I guess I'll end up tossing this cup full of clones as I'm not ready to root them yet.

Now the fun begins. I'm hoping for jars (and lungs) full of buds soon.
I can't wait for more of this MOAB. It's fire. The GSCs have been whiney the entire time so I just want them gone lol.

Regrowth the green healthiness of your plants makes my heart sing with joy.

I grow with plant health in the forefront of my mind. Yield is secondary. Your plants are quite simply bursting with health.

I am loving watching you grow.

:) :) :)

I am no grow guru, but since no one else answered I’ll have a crack.

Personally I wouldn’t store cuttings in the fridge. I cut with clean scissors, slice below a second node using a fresh Stanley blade in a diagonal line, dip in a cutting rooter, and plant in a nursery grade cutting mix.

I should've watered them the other day, they were especially sad looking yesterday. Luckily, within a few hours everything was fine and back to normal.

I'm uncertain if I'll need this scrog net or not. It's been somewhat of an a annoyance when it comes to watering and spraying. I like to move the plants around and take them out of the tent.

The issue is I only have the one light available at the moment. If I borrow that HPS ballast, I only have the one tent.
I've got some shopping to do I think, just not sure when I'll get to it. I would love to eventually run multiple tents / areas and try my hand at perpetual harvests. It's the only way I'll be able to run multiple cycles and prepare plants for the summer time because otherwise there's just not enough time.

I cut some clones of the MOAB in the summer time and they were particularly easy to root just sitting in a cup of water or planting directly into soil. The weather was quite humid though so that likely helped them out a bit.
Rooting hormone is something else to add to my shopping list for sure.

I appreciate the kind words @Trala, you're somewhat of an expert at nursing plants back to health and I enjoy following along with your adventures.

I only have one very small tent, in hindsight I shoukd have bought a larger one with a bigger light. I am lucky in the fact I have a tiny silly small, I’m not even sure it qualifies as a room, it’s like a narrow tool shed joined to the house which I have converted into a dark room, and I have the sun most days so I have a perpetual growing going.

There is a poster in here called Billpopy79 and he made his own light which I think he did quite cheaply.

I hate the thought of a scrog net, I actually bought one, but it looks like too much work.

I am no expert. I seem to be okay in veg, but I go to pot in bud.

I like watching your grow too :)

I switched up the watering schedule a bit as well, I now water with 8L every second day as opposed to 16L every 4th. Mostly, I'm trying not to cause another drought. Here's the water reservoir, it's not ideal but get's the job done.
The air stone is meant to bubble off chlorine a little faster than by evaporation alone...
It's an old trick someone taught me years ago.

Here's my corner for drying, not sure I've shown it yet.

That's some left over MOAB from the summer grow. She still smells incredible and it's some of the best smoke in the house. It's only around still because I've been patient and fortunate enough to have an assortment of other goodies. I've been hoarding nugs from nearly a dozen strains of which all the berry strains kick my ass.

stuff is looking good in here. not sure how i missed the call out a while back.

one tip i can offer is pre-mixing. i usually make a feed mix the day ahead before feeding. simply toss the mc in to the feed water and let sit. stir and ph right before feeding.

i'm on RO which adds a lot of control to the grow. i don't need to worry about chlorine or chloramine as a result.

you can edit the pic out with a simple backspace erase in the post edit mode.
