Redemption Journal - Two Buckets - Two Lights - One Cab

Totally a clone noob and we were doubtful they'd succeed but I took a peek today and so far 80% success out of 5 so we're thrilled we didn't have a crappy first time up. They don't look great either but soon as there's roots and not short little nubbies we will plant em and feed em

Lol they have roots yet? If so give em a tiny bit of juice as they are in veg if nonroots be patient. ChAnge the water lately?

Mine are growing in rockwool.....well I wouldn't say growing, more like dying, but in rockwool. I ordered Clonex solution (mixes with water) and have been re-wetting the rock wool with that when it feels like its pretty dry over the last 4 days. Prior to that I hadn't added anything other than the water. I don't have any nutes since I grow in living organic soil and don't use them.

I keep forgetting lol sorry I don't know what to tell you with that, just the I've had very bad problems burying RW in soil. Matter of fact the two outdoor plants that died were in RW buried in soil. Two others almost died but I was able to surgically remove the RW once I uprooted the plant. Had to be very delicate and they managed to recover with minimal shock or stunting. Problem is the RW retains water to no end and it rots the stem and discourages the roots to seek out water so they sit and rot.

You could dip the cutting and put em right into the soil as well. May have a better end result that way. I've read about so much that I don't need to use but I'm glad I have something to share with you given we use different mediums.

Yeah I have some rapid rooters that I was going to try next. Have you ever tried those? RW isn't scoring a real favorable rating with me right now on cloning, but some people swear by it so I just chalk it up to me screwing something up.

I am trying the clippings directly into water right now to see if I can get any roots. I am also planning on trying putting the clone straight into soil. I have done that many times with tomato plants. I take an offshoot and stick it directly into dirt and 100% of the time its a new plant. Wasn't sure how well it worked with cannabis though.

The clonex GEL works excellent for that. Never used those but heard they're better than RW for soil grows. RW is really just for DWC and I'm sure people use them otherwise but it's not really designed to work well with soil. You will be happy with the RRs

Cool thanks, I will give the RRs a shot when these girls either grow or die. But they need to hurry up and make a choice!

LOL nobody likes an indecisive plant. Got a mother you can take more from?

No, she (the mother) is in flower now. I will pop a couple more ATF seeds and find a female to breed with the male for my ATF seeds.....unless she decides to grow some roots and live! This is the only downfall to having a plant limit and being a law abiding citizen. If I didn't have a plant limit, I would have taken a bunch off her before going to flower. Oh well, not the end of the world!!

Ok so it's been a couple days since I was able to look at the mutant. Looks like I need to redo the hangers I already replaced the hooks with smaller ones but only gained a half inch. Lost another two inches between the tops and the led from the more than anticipated amount of stretch lol. She's over growing the growth tracking tape and making my power strip disappear. Had to move the fan up six inches too!

Looks like I'm gonna have to do another defoliation verrrry soon!

And last but not least, the problematic Gold Leaf and the successful clone job...
We have two lights with veg and bloom switches in this cab. 40w actual per switch for a total of 160 watts. Right now the led above the cloner is completely off and the one above the GL is running the veg switch. So right now using only 40w for both sides. Flushed the GL for a full week and went back to very light nutes (375ppm) and she seems to be getting better. Just realized I took 6 clones not 5 lol and five of six have roots. Without further ado-

And this one is swelling up beneath the collar something fierce and will surely have a root-splosion very soon

That's all for now y'all! Grow, chop, dry, smoke and be merry fockers!
