Recess Is Over - Now To Muck Up The Lesson

Hey grizz thought i'd ask you something..
I've grown a couple plants this year that I'm trying to figure out what it possibly is.
All I know about the strain is that it's from Aus around the 90's.
It tastes like sandlwood/cedar mixed with a sought of spicy incense aftertaste.
Any ideas of what it could be or maybe could you point me in the right direction as to find out what were the most popular strains of the 90's?
Cheers mate

P.S
I'm trying to get into landraces/heirloom strains and i always thought "Could this seed from the 90's be something special or what?"

It sounds nice mate, love to see a pic of it.. only one way of knowing if it's special or not, grow cure smoke.. I wouldn't know from the description.. the most popular strains of the nineties are the same today or the parents of.. I was never into strain names, not until few years ago getting internet. My growing life was seeds passed from friends, bagseed or pollen hit plants.... the description could be anything, tropical sativa haze african etc..

I can get a pic for you but it's early is flowering. Pistil set sought of early :/ Didn't really care to take heaps of photo's this time round. Hopefully the one I get can help you help me haha. Yeah most people in OZ weren't into names back then. As you said not till the US weed hype started did people over here kinda start caring about names.....kinda. I'll get the photo then we can discuss more on how it grew and such. Just trying to get a gauge of it's genetics even though i know it's pretty much impossible without testing equipment. Trying to factor in; Look of leaves (wide/skinny), growth structure, bud structure and flavor profiling. I'll grab that photo for you now mate.

Cheers

It's almost impossible to know what strain it actually is. Going from timing and look of her I'd be thinking something around the northern lights family maybe skunk crossed, will be nice to see her once those flowers are in full bloom, you'll be able to get closer to the family strain by look of buds..

Jandre you see the couple of harvests? Nice plants mate.. can't wait to smoke them..

Jandre, Every single plant :) doesn't look like I fucked up and pollinated any tops which is a surprise

These are all straight crosses from a friend, not sure what/if any have been grown yet.. be interesting to see what's in them.. the mangos are locals from up that way, might pop with some mango haze at a later date and see what we have :)

Yeah mate, all done. Masking tape on branches labelled.

Skunkworkz, need you to keep an eye on Nights plant, you might be able to work out what family it's in, a 90's bean..

See that's where things get tricky lol. That was the last photo i took of that plant. She is already chopped and jarred. Been curing for a month now actually. I can describe how she looked as best i can but i know you can only do so much with a description, shiiieeet lol.
The plant was harvested early april, she looked like a christmas tree with grenades on the ends of the branches. So internode spacing was almost perfect. The flowers themselves were big fluffy buds, more sativa in nature.

Damn i wish i took more photo's now lol. I can take some pictures of the curing buds but I don't know if that will help at all.

Note to self: Take more photo's next time

Cheers for the assistance all the same though :thumb:
