Interesting idea! That would be the only way I'd try something like that without already knowing what the outcome will be and I guess that only comes with experience. By the way.... I got a good laugh out of your "reason" for editing your post! :) :)

Cut your flowers, stand them upright in a vase of liquid, and let them absorb the liquid before hanging to dry.
This would undoubtedly bring in more of the modifying liquid than depending on the roots to absorb, even if only through capillary action.
P.S. Done this way, you can experiment with one or two branches and not destroy your whole grow.

Doc Bud states that he stopped defoliating because testing proved to him that Brix levels fell off when he did so. That's enough for me. I grow in a limited space and need to be able to offer a consistent quantity for my man's meds and the smoking I do with him so he doesn't feel so isolated (and so I don't go nuts from the stress!), so the more potent the harvest the longer it will carry us. By he only time,I plan to play with defoliation is when I finally decide to work with LA on a flux grow.
 
UPDATE BloomDay30: Thx everybody, my weird leaf/clawing issue seems to be a thing of the past. Glad I listened, because my natural inclination was to add more of something. Anything! And that would have exacerbated the problem rather than fixing it.

Sweetness is around 37" tall still, so methinx that's where she'll stay. Color remains great: shiny, dark green. Branches look healthy and are still quite slim when compared w/pix of other grows I've seen. Pretty much what I expected/hoped for. I don't smoke stems & so don't want to grow them. As long as they look like they're doing their duty, you can call me tickled pink. I've noticed a bit of purpling on the main stem and a few of the side branches. Don't know if this is a function of the pheno, or something else. Any ideas?
Blossoms are about an inch long. Pretty, but show that I need more light or they'll surely be airy.

I've been thinking about doing some photo-period manipulation. Twelve12 wrote an awesome thread on Gas Light Routine and Diminishing Light Schedule that looked really cool. I didn't do the GLR part, but may do the DLS because it just seems to make a lot of sense. Skunnymonster swears by GLR, and when he speaks, I listen. My concern is that my lighting is already under-powered, and do I really want to do anything which will lessen it's impact. Anybody fooled w/light & time? Let me know what you think.
Anybody else just itching to smoke a big, fat spliff in our nation's capitol? Go DC!

defoliation, I am on the fence on that one. I have not seen any ill affects yet while doing it and I find it necessary to keep plant size in check, so i am leaning over defoliatings way and about to fall off the fence. look out below...

I played Around with DLS with my autos and I felt like they benefitted from the change. It was almost like they breathed a sigh of relief when I hit 14/10. Next grow I'll get it down to 11/13 before the final run.

Get more lights in there Ranger. Let's see her really frost up.

I agree with sweetSue more light. as for defoil I try to take off anything that might block light but thats it. I also just run my hand lightly down the side of the bud growth to push leaves down and out of the way at least once a day maybe 2-3 times if I can.

I'm all excited about my Summer guerilla grow! Bagseeds are soaked and sitting in Jiffy pellets. None popped yet, but my place is a little cool. I might start another journal about urban GGs. You think there would be any interest?
