Radogast 2016 - The Neverending Growing

You know what really makes it feel like we are moving? Walking by the refrigerator when all the magnets are packed away.

That made my heart ache. I wish you well, bud.

That is more glass than I've owned my entire life. :circle-of-love:

The flower girls are looking very happy Rad. Pack it carefully, some states aren't so keen on mmj or is users. :Namaste:

Hey Radogast, I had made it to page 7 before realising I hadn't logged in and that that was the reason i couldn't "like" any of the posts in your journal. Well, now logged in and enjoying every page.

Thanks for subscribing nagga nagga man. It's a fun handle. Do you have friends or strangers calling you that in real life?

Be prepared. There are plenty of boring pages ahead to balance that out :)
My sense of humor has been harder to locate the last few months - stress and worry. I do feel like I am turning the corner back to my natural happiness :ciao:

You have to love the sense of irony - I called this the Never Ending Growing (a weak pun) and then I am shutting down the grow - sigh

I enjoy my cannabis girls most when they are young and trainable. With these older girls, I spend my time making sure they aren't having sex, don't manifest as bisexual, and are free from little insect infections - it's so 50s lifestyle of me :)

First off, sorry to hear you are shutting down, secondly, thanks for telling me the ending before I'd caught up!
I'd reached page 16 as you posted this . . . I am sorry to hear this and hope better news beckons, I have spent today enjoying your progression and sharing a lot of your life whilst reading your journal. You have a unique sense of humour and I'm sure that will certainly help you through any issues.
I'll read on, in the meantime, good luck sir.

Cleaning the 'spare' glass we won't use until after the move.

(I have no idea how that wood pipe got in there - as in I don't even remember buying it.)

Fortuitously, we had enough cleaning supplies under the sink :)

Just a quick clean to reduce the resin and smells before packing.

I LOVE that pipe collection.:thumb:

How about calling it a hiatus for transposition?

Too Much Stretch

For the 3rd day in a row, CAR Latrice Royale (15 days) hit the light - thats over 12" in 3 days.
I already had the surrounding girls up on pots and buckets to be near her canopy, so I had to do it - I had to supercrop.

Latrice's leader developped a creased bend after supercropping, so I tied her burnt top flower up to encourage sap flow

Other Buds in the Flowering Room

BDLR Iman (47 days) has the most mature pistils - trichomes are clear.

SNO Stacy (47 days) has new pistils and foxtailing - some cloudy trichomes

AK47 Bonnie (34 days) looks like she might also foxtail - clear, wider spaced trichomes

TND Ghita (15 days- same as supercropped Latrice Royale) is just starting to develop her flowers

Yes! I knew you'd come around Rad lol. I'm so glad you bent her. I was going to suggest that earlier, but given your past stance on the subject and your moving situation, I obstaned. I've bent main colas at 90 degrees and pulled them down with string to be even with the rest of the canopy. They still out weighed all the other buds.

Thanks for the support.

I hesitated because she is a clone from a botched attempt to supercrop her mother. She was born because a pencil thick, healthy stalk snapped like a dry twig under moderate pressure. Her stalk behaves more like a dandelion stalk than a typical cannabis stalk.

That memory slipped my mind this afternoon, but returned when I supercropped. I took it slow, but I had to lightly crush the stem at 90 degrees to the bending direction to avoid a total collapse of the vascular tubes as she wanted to slip into a 150 degree bend instead of an 80-90 degree bend. - so I tied the top up. I will guess the chances of the top thriving at 60-70%.

Hey Rad,

Don't be afraid to use duct tape to repair a troublesome supercrop. Just be gentle and use it to support the 90 degree bend. I generally use s third of the width of the duct tape. Then I can gently and easily apply it in a sort of candy cane stripe method. It is my second favorite tool in the grow room. Most of my trained plants will get some duct tape due to my heavy hand. I use top of the line Gorilla or Nashua brands, but you can use whatever you have laying around (as long as it's duct tape)!

I'm thinking I may need to do something similar with my Auto Jack Herer Rad. Reading this took some of the intimidation factor out of the equation. I'll look at her and see what I think I can make happen.

Irony, eh? I named mine perpetual and you just watch, I'll get it running smoothly and the universe will tap me on my shoulder and it'll be time to move. I can take it all down overnight if need be.

Fret not Sweet Sue, just make sure you apply the right amount of pressure to the stem (think crushing it between your fingers). Then gently bend back and forth graduating the degree of bend as you go. If it does break the outer skin, make sure you have some duct tape on the ready. It acts like the skin and keeps the branch healthy. :high-five:

Actual duct tape is hard to keep track of in a house with two teenagers. I use white racer's tape (low glue transfer duct tape) for labelling in the garden with a simple rule for the teens "Don't touch this ever."

As for the supercrop, this Tangerine Dream variant is just plain hard to supercrop. With the other girls, as long as I take 10-30 seconds and have two fingers opposing my thumb, it all goes smooth and easy. We will see how she looks when the lights come on.

The realtor says my basement rooms can stay up. All I'm taking down is the lights and equipment. :)

All 5 of my "teens" are in their "20's", and interestingly enough, my shit stopped disappearing (or getting left in the yard to rust) the last few years...
