Radogast 2 - Return of the Clones

Not much has changed, but I am doing a full set of pictures since ...
I WON'T SEE MY GIRLS FOR 8 DAYS ! I am vacationing out of state.
The family member who is co-growing Big Bertha and Delilah will be checking in every 2-3 days.

Seedlings and clones first (I will eventually veg most of these)

Late Veg - lights are at 24" above soil line so 3-4 will go into the flower room when I return from vacation.
I raised the light after the photo.

Flowering room on the left (Humidty and temps are great.) Garden veg room on the right (humidity is high to manageable.)

Hawaiian Skunk 'Hani' 35 days since 12/12

20150617_201204-1.jpg

Hani has one main bud. The sugar leaves are wrapping tight around the flower pistils.

20150617_201134-1.jpg

Giselle is going through leaf yellowing and building a sea of buds (35 days since 12/12)

20150617_201220.jpg

Giselle has 6 terminal buds that look like this.

20150617_201147-1.jpg

Giselle has 12 buds that look like this - plus lots of popcorn buds

20150617_201246-1.jpg

Also in the flowering room (8 days since 12/12) breeder seeds Big Bertha (left) and Delilah (right)

20150617_201318.jpg

I think Delilah has a nice shape. Big Bertha was supercropped and is much bushier.

8 days into 12/12, still no definitive sex. I have watched multiple round things that I thougth were male sacs reveal as stipules

And now I fly away from the grow until next Thursday night. I'll probably be on the boards some, just not posting much here :)

Have a wonderful time Rad.

Landed safe and sound. Saw an eagle, two black hawks, and multiple pelicans on the drive around before checking into the hotel.

My wife produced her state ID when checking in. Actually her state medical marijuana ID with the same photo and appearance as her state driver's license. She decided to tuck that card away a little deeper for the duration of our trip :)

I'm not too happy with my $30 6" in-line big hardware store unit. It will do for now, but I may need to get a $100+ Can-fan, Hurricane, or other professional quality fan. The can-fan in my flower room has been rock solid for over a year.

I have been using can-fans mainly also. I recently purchased a 6" can-fan with 267 CFU. I didn't realize that my filter was 450 CFU rated. So not wanting to spend another 120$ (I think that is what I paid), I bought

Active Air 400 CFM Inline Fan, 6-Inch for 88$ shipped. So far so good and it doesn't seem any more noisy than my can-fan

The hydo store who sold me most of my equipment suggested using the large filters, but only stripping off the wrapper on about a foot. Then, a few months down the road when it seems like the filter is clogging up, strip off another 4-6" of the wrapper. One of the counter people had 2 years on a large filter and over a foot still wrapped up and fresh when needed.

I don't need a filter for the veg room. I might someday need a filter for the flower room, but not so far.
The smell at the back porch doesn't bother anyone in the house, we are state legal, and besides, the closest neighbor downwind is an auto repair shop a couple of blocks away. If they ever smell something through their aromas, they will have no idea where the smell is coming from, the wind will shift, and the smell is gone. Beyond them are: wrecking yard, strip mall, swamp, baseball diamond, sewage treatment plant . . . I'm grateful thay are all downwind :)

That's a nice looking unit... I my buy one coupled with a fan controller

That's an interesting tid bit.

Thanks for the info

Never thought of that!

Hey there Rad - if you're using charcoal filters all you have to do is rinse the charcoal in water - give them a good soak and rinse, charcoal in the filter will be re-activated. I do this about every 6 month, still on my 1 and only filter runs 24-7 weather I need it or not.

Are there filters, based on their shape and housing, that you shouldn't do this with? I was thinking specifically about holding water in the filter.

The difference between the HD fan and a real in-line exhaust fan are crazy. I have two of the HD fans I connected a cord to each and then a little ducting. I use one in each tent pulling air from the bottom of the tent and re-distributing it in the top. I read somewhere it was a great way to move Co2 around since Co2 sinks to the bottom of a room. IDK, if it works but I have them running.

Enjoy your vacation my man!

Magnifiecent!! +reps

I should have know this, since I used to have a fish trank with charcoal filters.
In my defense, that was decades ago. :)

I use oscillating fans to blow away stale air and replace with fresher air. This helps replace CO2 with O2 in the day, and O2 with CO2 at night :))

I love the way Giselle's looking, with the little bits of purple and sparkly trichs.

Both good tips, about the charcoal and large filters. :) I'll keep those in mind. Hope you're having a great trip with the wifey Rado! Don't stay too long, I bet your family of forest critters is missing you back home! :hippy:

I was just thinking how grateful I am to have this message board to enjoy my neice and nephew plants while my baby plants and I are apart. The word is that they are all doing fine and sex is not showing on Big Bertha or Delilah. It has been 2 weeks under 12/12 and I expected them to show in 2-3 days. The only late bloomer I had before was a girl, and if they are boys they aren't ready to pop yet, so I am able to maintin an outward calm about it :)

I saw a cannon named Big Bertha on Sunday - but cannons aren't cannabis :)

"neice and nephew plants" lol

I love it. I'm sure you can't wait to let them meet their cousins and all the peoples get to sample! :thumb:

Niece and nephew plants = they are in my flower room, but not my plants. The plants of my relations.

Sorry for the confusion. I used to be an online poet: my turn of phrase can weave a circuitous yarn.

hahahaha :) I didn't just mean his plants, have you guys seen rado's non 420 garden?? There's so much life! Birds and beasts and streams and plants everywhere. With him gone who know's, maybe his greenwood will start turning into... Mirkwood... *suddden gust of wind blows leaves down a dark path into a forest with dramatic orchestra music* :lot-o-toke:

Surely there's some hedgehog family that needs you to return soon Rado? :laughtwo:

I need to lower my silliness parameter, my yarns go in weird circles as well. :passitleft: Lol I just watched Interstellar with my dad. He thought that movie was about as rooted in reality as alice in wonderland :laughtwo: but I've been watching lots of the wormhole show with morgan freeman, so I was spellbound. Hahahaha the diesel with healthy helping of kief probably helped... but everything about beings from a higher dimension, humans who had gained power over gravity, stretching and squeezing time, black holes and white holes and worm holes, it made enough sense to me lol. Glad to see a space movie that cares about theoretical astrophysics. No more armageddon's or gravity's... I digress. :laughtwo:

I'm glad your plants are in good hands while you're gone, and that you're getting good status updates. :)
