Radogast 2 - Return of the Clones

Yep. Gotta love Kenny. :laughtwo:

Soil recipe?

Picked up some dehydrated cow manure at the hardware store today.

How about this recipe for no-till soil?

2 parts sphagnum peat moss
2.5 parts 3/4 inch lava rock
1 part Earth Worm Castings
1 part dehydrated cow manure
+ cc mix rock dust and amendments

Considering that cow manure is excellent organic material it should work. I've watched videos espousing the use of JUST cow manure as a growth medium. It will cook together for that month and should provide you with a fantastic soil.

CO knows more about this than I do though, so let's get him in on this. Ask him on the organic gardening thread in my sig.

Nice on the extra aeration. Are you still thinking on the giant SWICK? If so, add just a bit more. For luck.

You want to use composted manure not raw manure, I guess the dryed cow manure you speak of is already aged/composted?

Rado how about sub some coast of Maine lobster compost or oly mtn fish compost in place of the manure? Both are proven to be high quality humic sources for your soil mix.

The rest looks great, but I'd just put the manure into my worm bin if I was you. I'm sure cow manure will work fine also, just not as well initially maybe, and that there is a guess as well. Heck, it's your soil. 1/3 HIGH quality humic material like worm castings/and or good compost, 1/3 aeration, 1/3 SPM or leaf mold. That's the idea, and boy does it work well!

You'd love it up here co. I grew up with the family that runs that in Belfair that's where I'm from born and raised. On the playground is where spent most of my days.

Oly Mt. Is what I was referring to not COM

I will be using coast of Maines soil with MassMedMan in a co grow this summer big ups to COM

Totally forgot I had this. We have an extensive glass collection probably close to 200 pieces now the wife and I.

Some very exquisite bongs as well. Probably broke close to 5gs of glass in our recording studio.

Ok folks, I guess I'll order my compost online.

Sitting in farm country on the border of suburban gardens and nurseries, you'd think compost would be all over the place.

I'm convinced the day after I order compost online, I'll see better compost in my neighborhood.

Thanks so much for keeping me on the path of nature :)

This is why I suggested you ask the master. I'd take his advice and let your worms convert the cow manure into something incredible and use it in another batch or as top dressing. That ratio he's encouraging you to stick to (allowing for additional aeration for the SWICK) is a gold standard. Go look at COs last pictures and ask yourself if you want to grow plants like that. Then mix up that same basic recipe and sit back to watch in amazement.

A look at the transplanted seedlings.

After 10 days in larger pots and semi-cc mix soil, the seedlings are showing real growth. None of these seeds are feminized.

The 3 on the ends and in the middle are 10 days in 1/2 gallon pots. The 2 in between are 2 days in 1/2 gallon pots.

The clones under the HPS 600 are still a mess. As soon as I start cooking soil, I'll clone some of the clones and see if I can raise decent looking grandchildren from weakened children of my four mothers.
