Radogast 2 - Return of the Clones

Yeah warmth, 70 ish is perfect for seedling and cloning from my experience. My basement in Colorado gets cold too so I lift the plants off the floor onto some recycled Styrofoam, my veg area is right next to the furnace the air is usually no colder than 65. For clones and seedling I have the heat pad under them which brings the soil to around 70-75. I have a digital thermometer with an outdoor probe that I put in the soil to be sure. Good job.

I have several, 5, non-digital thermometers made by Accurite and each one says something different for the temp and the relative humidity. I call them Accuwrong :) they are so terrible.

Rado,
Is that oil filled radiator a Pelonis brand model?

I have one and it has an led on the front that I had to disable. I think it was gonna stress the plants out during their dark period.

I basically just took off the front, cut the wires that went to the led and taped them off with electrical tape and secured each end away from the other.

If yours isn't a Pelonis, what brand is it? And is there an Led on the front?

My oil-filled space heater is a De'longhi from the local big box store.
It has a non-backlit LCD and 3 wimpy LED indicator lights.
I'm not worried about the light because A) the main screen is LCD and B) this is my garden/veg room.

My main reason for choosing digital over a simple dial was for two temperature profiles, which I planned to set to day and night.
Alas, there are two on/off times, but only one temp setting.

My secondary reason for choosing a digital was for the low/medium/high settings(300/600/1200 watts.)
Oil-filled, combined with the low heater setting, maintains a gentle, even temperature.
All heat settings and electric heaters have similar efficiencies (most inefficiencies are heat loss anyway)

BTW- My 4x8' flowering room, why not nearly as sturdy as your new 4x8' hugelkultur flowering room,
has similar heating sources: dual 600w HID. :)

:wood: Hullo Radogast. May I come in? I must apologise profusely for not being here earlier. So rude of me. I got lost in the labyrinthine highways and byways of 420. Just spent 90 good minutes catching up. What a ride. Hate the gnats. Love the build and the pipes and the oak stand and the smoking den. And I see that the LOS Mafia have rolled up. :cheesygrinsmiley: They like their protection money paid in worm castings, you know. I'm hoping that later this year they may make me a made man. Right now I'm just running numbers for them (mostly 420).

Here for the bad times and the good. But mostly the good.
:circle-of-love::ciao:

Mr. Teddy !!!!

Although I prefer my teddies lacier, racier and stuffed with feminine pulchritude, you are most welcome here!
And your little dog too :circle-of-love:

I was such a hermit on 420 during December, visiting only the warmest and wormiest locations.
Your Greek vistas were just the ticket.
Dodging those dodgy little tykes expecting me to be Santa in real life plum wore me out.
Now that the days are getting longer, I'm back in the top hat and strutting in the snow.

I wish I could put on The Greatest Show on Earth for your elucidation and entertainment, but it seems my girls are performing a comedy of errors. But we must not blame them, they try so hard. It's all the ring leaders fault.

Thanks for joining our little show.

thanks for that edit! I read your post twice scratching my head thinking okay Sue and Soilgirl will know what hes talking about - me im just lost. Im trying to learn from all of you guys and gals but sometimes like i said, i just scratch my head :laughtwo::laughtwo:

Agreed SweetLeaf :laughtwo:

LOS mafia... :circle-of-love: that was epic.

You got the work Rado? -.- I'm here for my cut. (I've been watching too much Drugs, Inc. :laughtwo:)

by my calculations that is
29.4 grams Sucrose
11.9 grams of Glucose
12.8 grams of Fructose
54.1 grams of sugars in total. like a 16oz coca-cola
400 milligrams Calcium
13 milligrams Iron
300 milligrams Magnesium

According to my nute def and abundance chart you can't have an abundance of those minerals so that part is fine. What else is in the tea? :) I'm not sure how sugar plays a role in ph level so i will defer to another. I would be concerned with the ph level so maybe do a test on your soil first and then the tea separately before adding it just in case. A lockout of nutes can be hard to fix unless you transplant or flush and then you have to start all over again.

:peace:

I found that sugar is a neutral ph for humans at 7 which is a little bit high for cannabis but I don't know what else you have in your tea. So I defer to a cannabis soil expert. :)

That's a lot of molasses Rad. I'd chuck it, chalk it up to a learning experience, get a measuring device and start again. You'll overwhelm the bacteria with that and divert them from their job of caring for their charges. Nothing you are using is too expensive to toss. Throw it on a compost heap. Outdoors.

Sorry there nhteatime. That post is rather cryptic.
I may have been trying to hide my incompetence with brevity :)

I basically was watching the side of the jar when I dumped an estimated 2oz of molasses in my bubbling bucket of water.

The molasses was beautiful as it landed on the bottom of the bucket and spread out through the water like an octopus emerging from a hidden cleft in a rock.
It was so pretty I poured just a touch more.

That thick molasses coat on the side of the jar concealed how much I was actually pouring, so I dropped more than twice the intended molasses in the jar. But the molasses slowly draining down the side of the jar had it's own seductive beauty.

Since the beneficial soil microbes should be expanding exponentially to eat the molasses, and are basically limited from expanding forever by the amount of molasses, it probably isn't a big deal.

Then again, who cares. The entertainment value of pouring the molasses was magnificent.

:circle-of-love:

Want to know the best part? I haven't smoked or vaped in a dozen days.
Having mildly psychedelic appreciation of physics is my natural state of mind :)

So.... which share is more lucid? The cryptic one or the space cadet version?

Agreed Sweetsue and mr calculation (xtrchessreal)
This tea goes onto the hugelkultur hill.

I have no idea what SoilGirl was watching... but I know I heard her words in the voice of Steven Van Zandt with Lillyhammer snow in the background :)

I watch that show on Netflix. It's pretty comical. Now I can't get his accent out of my mind... GGGeee <---swedish for Grrrrrrr :)

Photo update.

The first 4 are taken from my chair in the garden room, the last 2 from the doorway to the flower room.

(Right View) 10 seedlings. Worm bin to the left. Hanging plants rescued from near death in the background.

The glowing blue ball is a cheap aquarium air pump for tea brewing.

Notice how I focus on the equipment more than the plants - sad .

Flowering room with taller (10 inch) old clones. I will water the right two with BioBloom today.
Next grow I might be able to drop bottled nutrients, but this soil has little to offer right now.

I took a one minute video of above.
I don't have a YouTube account, which seems the preferred 420 posting method.
If anyone has tips to create a stealth YouTube account, I welcome the advice.

If you don't run a VPN then stealth will be near impossible.

You can make a "troll" Gmail acc, and use it with your "stealth" youtube acc. However, if you post it here, then you leave a crumb trail of who you (your ip) and can be linked with the youtube acc. depending on your country you will want to take other steps to cover your tracks like a cat.

Glad to see things going green for you rado!

I know we're here for the cannabis, but my heart skipped a beat at the wind chimes. :laughtwo:
