I am too scared to try to trim them. And that is just it, on these 3 gallon pots I have, there is not much of a edge/lip/ or rim to it. It is so narrow that if i try to make a hole, I may end up cracking the pot. I did just think of an idea with some hooks I had laying around here somewhere. Maybe I can heat the hooks up and push them thru the pot some type of way.

i used a soldering iron once, it worked well but it stunk up the place, on my 2 liter bottles there no lip at all i just pick a spot and go slow, with enough pressure and time you can drill a hole thru a rock with a pocket knife lol just takes your time

The biggest advantage of growing female beans is...you can plan how many plants your room can hold...i'm having the same problem..but mine is in flower so i can thin mine out...Please let there be males..i got 6 bushes...need room....on the tying down...i used a length of thin wire...bent it into a hook on one end..put a weight on other end,,,check my grow...you 'll be just fine...be creative..:thumb:

I don't want there to be any males but I am wondering because I have plant 3 which is 18 inches already. Plant 2 is 17 inches, I know I shouldn't go by that but the last time I had one that tall it turned out to be male. Plant 1 is my pride and joy. I will be so bummed if that one turns out to be a male. Once the lights come on, I plan to be as creative as possible with what I have laying around here. I am limited when it comes to tools, gonna have to invest in some sooner or later.

I think its best to start flowers if plant gets to 12 inches...unless you have plenty of vertical space..i veg mine 60 days..but because i LST them...they are under 12 inches..one thing for future ref...you can find out the sex while your plant stays in veg...wrap one of your lower side branches with something light proof for over 12 hours..unwrap for under 12 hours...that branch will put out flowers...leave wrap off,,branch will revert back to veg...plant remains in veg during this process...

Yes, lsting them. I am still trying to get that down to a science. I have listened to what people have said here about it and watched youtube videos but I always end up snapping one of them. I did the other day but it didn't snap in half and think it healed itself. So as tall as they are, it would still be safe to lst? I am assuming it would since it is taller, answering my own question while smoking this doobie...Ah sometimes I think too much...lol

Once plant gets 3 nodes stem starts thickening...i think you would do best by tie-down...when bending stems..i do it in steps..bend and release...each time bending a little more..instead of trying to bend in one step..they will break...bending in steps you can make a 90 degree bend...just have to take it slow..unmedicated...:winkyface::winkyface:

Damn, just smoked a doobie...Atm, I am trying to find the hooks my ex-bf put somewhere and of course, since we aren't speaking, I can't ask where they are. But I did find some nails so I may use those instead. Thanks for the info, Miwa, I didn't know that. I will pay attention to that with the sprouts on the other journal.

Well quick update--room temp was at 75 with humidity at 40. I haven't checked just yet but it may look like they need to be fed, pots looking a little dry. Would take pics but I am kinda stuck right now, smoking some different stuff from a different person. I don't like the stuck effect, I kinda feel like a zombie about now. So when that wears off I will get down to uploading current pics after I tied them down, maybe a before and after.

Hopefully gonna lst them a lil later with pics to show...maybe I'll take a pic of them all in the closet so you can see what i mean about no space at all.

Well here is what the plants look like after tying them down. I didn't want to pull them down too much but eventually ease them down further. It made a little room, keeping them from going up but still didn't give them much room when it comes to being side by side. Its the best I can do at the moment until I get my light. Which I am hoping I will be able to order it on Friday. All this bidding is making me super frustrated. So Propa if you see this please PM that link to the light you were showing me once before...I think I am gonna end up going that route.... So tell me what you think....

Oh, I forgot to mention that I had to get ghetto with the tying down. Melted a hole on the rim of the pots, stuck nails in the holes and tied down with some thread...Just call me the ghetto McGyver...lol

LOL, I do what I can with what I got or can afford. Upgrade things according to budget. But its also good when I can see where my improvements/upgrades made a difference. Makes me wonder why I didn't start this hobby a long time ago.

i feel the same way queen :) somtimes is hard to work in a low budget but we manage it as we can ;)

I know it is scary bending her down like that, I remember when I had done it to my Afgoo this last summer!!! your looks better than mine did!!! and go figure that was my second grow as well!!! but unfortunatly, our wonderful brotha Corey and myself had not spoken yet... notice yet!!! he is a god send!!! any who!!! LOL yea I did 2 rounds of LST and it is just wonderful to watch how many colas you get out of her!!! I had 12 at harvest!!! it's in my youtube... well hell I will post it for you to see that video!!!

Thanks for the video, Aston. I am hearing impaired so I could not actually hear what you were saying. I know you didn't know but you would be amazed at how many vids don't have captioning. Unless I am missing how to set it up.

Well just bought some coco coir, 5 bricks, not sure how many pots that will cover but it will get me started. I just hope I can catch the UPS man. Since I am hearing impaired, I can't hear my door bell. They usually leave it behind the door anyway plus I have a cool neighbor. If he sees something for me he usually puts it by my door.

You know I didn't know that lsting actually makes more colas. I thought it was simply so light could get to the lower buds. Since tying them down, they have already started turning towards the light. I don't know if I mention it but they also got watered along with nutes.
