Pyramid Purple & DNA Chocolope Under CFL - 2nd Grow

Did you actually read my last post, bro?

Haha you're funny Jesstar.

Your plants are looking very nice! I like both of the strains you are growing as well!

That Chocolope's stretch is too be expected, that plant is (basically) 100% Sativa, meaning that bitch wants to grow up up UP. She will get very tall, much taller than the Purple. Seedfinder said that the average Flower time of Chocolope was 74 days indoor (and as I see it that's a little over 7 weeks since first pre-flowers...) as far as I can tell Chocolope showed her first pre-flowers around the 30th of December. So she has a while.

That Purple is starting to chunk up! If you are looking to get purple colored Flowers, you could try and figure out a way to drop Temperatures during lights-off to 15 degrees less than what they are during lights on... Temperature drops during dark periods is what turns Flowers purple... and based on Seedfinders info, Pyramids Auto Purple has a very good chance of turning purple. Her average Flower time should be 70 days (7 weeks since first pre-flower). From your posts it seems like she showed her first pre-flowers around December 10th... so shes about half way done!

You look right on track, if I were you I would get a jewelers loupe / handheld microscope to examine the Trichomes on your babies... That is a sure fire way to determine when plants are ready for harvest.

ALSO! Taking clones from an Autoflowering Cannabis Plant is not recommended, especially once they are already flowering. Auto's do not take well to cloning.. and because of the Hormones in the plant, its clones will be rather unappealing and weak. I would just let em grow.... but that's just my 2 cents!:)

I'd just go to CVS or whatever and get regular Hydrogen Peroxide... That stuff might be too intense. Plus it has other ingredients in it... My gut says no.
Agreed. Once again I see you're in good hands Jesstar. Also don't worry about the little small irregularities you might see after FIMing or Topping. That's normal. The structure of the plant will shape right up once it recovers.

Awesome, thanks for the visit and feedback guys. Based on everyone's opinion and all the research I could do I decided against any clone attempt. I'll just grow it out and hopefully get a decent popcorn.. ;) Her nodes are getting closer and closer but soooo slowly! All trichs are still quite small and clear, I'm working on perfecting taking photos through my loupe but it ain't easy.. :/

Chocky sure does love to grow! I've FIMd her again(as I mentioned in my last post) and I've started some LST on her. She loves it. She's taking it very well. I'm going to try my best to keep her down. I don't think I should top or FIM now I've started her on 12/12 should I?

Bio was doing little to nothing under her LED so I chucked her CFL back on as well as the LED to try some mixed wavelengths. I fear this LED panel was a waste of $18.. Haha.

Photos in the next few days when the girls do enough work to deserve the attention.. :joint:

Peace playaz.

Quick update for now, maybe more a bit later.. ;)
Purple is slowly moving along. I thought I saw a web today and had a freakin heart attack but luckily it was just a hait pulled very tight between a bud and a leaf. Gone now. :wood: PH seemed a bit high in both big girls soil(according to my $10 PH meter) which I don't understand but I'll lower their next water by just a tiny bit to adjust.

Chocolope is barely recognizable to back in these days:

This is what she looks like now with all her LST shackles and FIM's/ tops..

Poor little BioDiesel Mass is destroyed(by me). :( Shame coz I was keen to see her grow and taste her. Still, I'll hopefully get a nugget from her.. ;)

I'm going to throw a Green Poison seed in a SIP as an experiment and when I finish this grow and get back from Indo in early March, if it goes well I'll be running a 6 auto SIP for my 'next grow'. :D

Big update coming tomorrow, guys. Some good news and some bad news. A sneak at some of the good news is this hood I just finished making. I just need to get some bayonet splitters(and bayonet bulbs) and I'm in action! I tested it with one 27kk bulb at so far I'm really happy with it. The light blanket looks delicious! Please provide any and all feedback and thoughts. ;) I'm going to need to cool it I think as I made almost the exact dimensions of my room so no light can escape upwards. Problem is, neither can any heat.. :p Will drilling some holes around the centre(top) help with heat without dramatically reducing light reflection? Thanks guys.I should try and get Light Addict over here.

Also, this is what Chocolope looks like these days. :D I went a bit crazy with the LST trying to keep her down..

THOUGHTS?!?!? :allgood:

Peace and good night/ morning, Friends.

Hey Jesstar!

WOW! That is one awesome Light Hood that you made there, definitely puts my design to shame, awesome job! It looks like it should do a pretty great job to me. If you think you are going to have heat issues, the holes at the top of the hood sounded like a promising idea, however you might just want to add one or two small computer fans at on end that can continuously keep cool air moving through there. It also kind of depends on how many lights you stick under there, with just one you might not have to worry.

And that is an amazing training job you did to the Chocolope, so many new tops! She will be a great looking plant.

[EDIT] :: ^ Peyton and I concur.

Chocolope is looking good. You need to tie and break her lots or she gets very tall and light use is not efficient. My chocolope plants are each 2 feet by 2 feet square but they are less than two feet tall. It works much better that way then when I used to just FIM and end up with a 5 foot tall plant with only a dozen colas getting strong light...

A bit crazy? Not at all. That's a well executed piece of training that will produce a nice low, bushy plant.

OK! I think we're overdue for a proper update. I've been reading all of yours but been to lazy/ busy to do my own. My girl and I just got approved for a shop lease so we're all ahead full with preparation to take the keys. :D

Thank you all for the kind words on my little teaser last night. Very much appreciated and reassuring. Bro:circle-of-love:

Here's the real deal. I snapped a few pics before I left but forgot to look at times. I think I'm 2-3 weeks from chop on the Purps and a year or two on chocky. ;) Sadly I needed to transplant BioDiesel to get her in to flower and she hated it. No photos of her. Also bad. Green Poison(in her SSIP before breaking surface) got knocked over and haphazardly put back and didn't do too well either. When I found out I managaed to find the seed and put it back to soak. I think she's a goner.. :(

Enough bad news. Here's Purple. Slow but steady. She had only water last feed to try and sort out the N tox. Not sure if I should just keep her on water and flush her soon or one last nute feed..? Here she is..

Here's my Chocky lady, love her. Such a nice plant to grow so far. Some funny knobs on her but, hoping she's not doing anything funny..
