also i just gave her the last feed from now on its plain water ph'ed to 5.8-6.0

today i just found is exactly 42 days since first pistils ... end of week 6 ...

if tomorrow the trichs turn out all cloudy then her days are numbered ... as in 7 hehe

anyway atm she is still very green but i bet that will change very quickly once she gets plain water the coco should drain out the nutes nicely

hello,

ive checked thrich earlier today and i must say i still see some clear trichs left and right so ill give her like 80-90% milky ... if all goes as ive planned she may get harvested next friday
as from today she'll get only water and i will check trichs more often now as soon as i see ambers appear and i cant find clears she goes down ...

the swell is abit disappointing i was hoping to get more dense buds but as a counterbalance i must admit this is the frostiest plant ive ever grown so she maybe abit fluffy it'll be fire i hope...

oh i know there arent any ambers yet ... and im looking for an allround high ... this is 80% indica which will get bodystone from its genetics no need to add more via age

im not really looking to get amber but i sure dont want to cut to early either ... what i meant to say is as all trichs are at least milky she is in my target area ... but if you say you expect more swell to come then please enlighten me ;)

also in a few hours she'll get her first plain watering ... i count at least a week to clear the buds from salts ... at least a week as she has been blasted with PK last 4 weeks

Dunno nothin' about what swells buds besides time, but I do know there are differing opinions about flushing to improve the taste of buds. This guy has a scientific explanation on why NOT to flush:
A critical look at preharvest flushing

Worth a look at least.

Tick tock on the trichome clock...

i read that post and all he did was explain nutrient transportation and storage in plants ... its a highschool biology lesson worth of info there at least my high school i did follow biotechnics in highschool
further more he mentioned the data to confirm my idea on why to flush ... every cell has a cavity called a vacuole where it stores nutrients and amino acids in the form of a solution in water ... when cutting and drying a plant that hasnt used these reserves ... the water will evaporate from the cells and the vacuoles so the nutrients crystallize as salts ( just like salted water that evaporates in a dish it leaves the saltcrystals ... it are these crystals that make your joint sparkle when smoking it it will also leave residues in the ash that make it sticking together and colour black

if you force your plant to use the reserves you will get a cleaner better tasting smoke ...

im in a bit of a conundrum ... we go to the beach for the weekend leaving friday after work ... i cant harvest then ...so i must choose between harvesting tomorrow and risk coming home to overdried weed or water her plenty friday evening before leaving and let her get dry till sunday evening and harvest then ... im inclined towards the later tbh ... so she gets some more days to finish up ... ;)
