ProfessorFlora Presents: The Flowering Inferno

The Kind V3 has an atomizer for flower as well as for concentrates but I just use the V3 strictly for concentrates as I have better flower vaporizers. I like The Mighty best for flower. And, the Arizer Solo works best for hash but it's a PITA to clean afterwards. Smoking it is so much easier.

I found the mouthpiece on the Pax just got too hot for me so I ended up giving it away to a 420 Magazine friend.

And, the mouthpiece on the Status always comes off in my purse so I don't tend to use it much either.

And, I don't think I've ever used the DaVinci. Felonious bought it for himself but never used it and we don't know where the charger is. I could probably get another one but I haven't been bothered enough to do it.

Flowering Day 7

Hey 420. It is actually flowering day 8 today but the pics are from yesterday. We have made it to the end of the first week of flower and all is good. Both plants are looking nice though not perfect. The Big Bomb has some discolouration appearing on some of the top leaves which I noticed yesterday. It isn't anything to worry about and I'm putting it down to needing an increase in nutrients. We are still feeding at veg levels at around 4.5g of MC. The Bubba's Breath looks great on top but if you look inside there is a lot of weak and even some dying growth. It should be ok after a trim up which will be in a couple of weeks time. Other than that things are still groovy. Here is a comparison between day 1 and day 7.

Day 1....

Day 7....

Here's some more pics from last night....

some beautiful green prof. healthy looking girls indeed.

Flowering Day 13/14

Hey 420. We finally have a bit of action in today's update. Last night I was looking over the two flowering plants when I decided that something needed to be done about the Bubba's Breath. She's a slow growing plant, both in flower and veg and I really can't see her stretching out much more over the next week or so. I looked underneath those obstructive leaves of hers and checked out what was going on. It is a mess with leaves and growth tips literally dying and falling off the plant. So today I decided to do a little early defol on her and get some light to some of that growth.
Here is what the plants looked like last night before lights out....

And here we are after a trim this morning on flowering day 14....

I removed a sack and a half of growth from her and she still looks like a mess. Next I will super-crop her and maybe thin her again next week. Next week will also be when I take a look at the Big Bomb which is doing awesome by the way. She will likely get a thinning and some branch bending as well.
So at the end of the second week of flower, things are all good.

Nice clean up Prof! That should get her on the right track to getting some light on those hidden nodes! Another week to go and we should really she the bud sites popping.

Looking good there @ProfessorFlora

You will be well rewarded when these ladies are done.

Tok..
Thanks Tok.

Hopefully so. Peace and quiet is all I'm after. Most of this will go to the family and as long as they're happy/quiet then I'm happy lol.

Cheers N. There's still quite a bit of trimming to do on them but we are getting there. Last night I super-cropped the Big Bomb so that she is a similar height to the Bubba's Breath. That one is going to need some good support. Something I haven't needed to do for a while now.
Off with her hidden nodes!

#nolarf
I snapped a main on BB when super-croping yesterday and today it is still alive. I like this plant but it is really hard work. It had better be of exceptional quality when it's done otherwise it'll be gone. No messing around being nurse Prof this year!

Flowering Day 21

Hey 420. Hope you've all been busy and keeping out of trouble. I've noticed that the updates for this journal have become a weekly thing which suits me fine. So, I guess it's time for the week 3 update....

I've had a productive week in the grow room. There's been a lot happen and I don't want to bore you with all the small stuff but I will say that it's mostly been a week of training.
The Bubba's Breath has been tidied up quite a lot but I'm still not entirely happy. She is an incredibly difficult lady to tame but there are signs that she is going to become talk for the right reasons soon. I think we have a frost queen on our hands looking at the early flowers.
I have damaged her quite a bit while super-croping and have had to bring out the tape. I thought I was going to lose a couple of her mains but the tape and a cardboard splint have kept them up.
So far, I still have mixed feelings about this one. She is a lot of effort but it looks like she could be pretty special....

The Big Bomb is a star for all the right reasons. She's fast, she's big and she already smells like some kick-ass weed. Easy to grow, easy to train and easy on the eyes. What's not to like.
I bent this one down to meet the BB's height and also gave her a decent though not extreme, defoliation. I also didn't remove too much of the lower growth as a lot of it is now at canopy height. I will need some way of supporting those mains soon and it's now that I'm starting to miss my old net.....

Flowering Day 1

Yes, that's right. It's flowering day 1 again! The inferno is about to heat up as we add three more plants to the line up. First we have a Northern Lights X Skunk....

Then over in the cupboard we have an Orange Cane (left) and a Melon Gum (right). I promise that the pics won't always be in this red lighting and I will pull them from the cupboard for photos....

Some of you may have been expecting to see a recirculating dripper grow featuring these three plants however there was a tiny hick-up and the forth plant (Rainbow Cake) went and developed some root rot. I removed all of the plants from the system and found all to be infected. So I have spent the past couple of weeks saving these from death and have succeed. The method I used to cure them was to chop off most of their roots, dunk them in bleach, give them a rinse and plant them in some soil. It has worked for all four of the plants and the reason the Rainbow Cake isn't here is that she's just not as good as these three. I'll flower her on her own in the future.
So there you have it. More plants for your viewing pleasure.

Looking great Prof! The Big Bomb is certainly living up to her name she is a beast of a plant! Sounds like Bubbas Breath has been a bit of a problem child but I think she will be worth all the effort with those super frosty flowers she is gonna produce. I’m on the hunt for a really frosty strain to run, In House Genetics has some great looking one’s but the prices are keeping me away.

Wow Prof you gave this journal the perfect name it’s all flowers all the time! Now we have another group of plants to watch you flower out looking forward to it.

Just curious, Professor but on average, how old are your plants when you put them into flower?

Thanks N. I too would like to run some In House strains but just as you have found, they are a little too steep for me currently. The Slurricane is super frosty and not as expensive as some of their other strains but I still cant go splashing too much at the moment.

We have five flowering plants currently but there may be a couple more soon. I will be documenting my attempt at trying to make some seeds from the Double D's And will obviously be needing to flower for that.
Oooooooo.....
I like your NL x Skunk shrubbery.
:hugs:
Sorry that I'm behind once again.
Hey VG! Lol. Don't worry, it's easily done. As long as you're healthy and happy.

The NL X Skunk should be a good plant. It's meant to be a good yielder with Skunk flavours and some nice relaxing effects.
Just curious, Professor but on average, how old are your plants when you put them into flower?
Hey HG! Surprisingly older than they look. They have been trained to have eight mains each and grow low. It works really well for some strains and not so well for others. All of the new flowering plants seem to be quite vigorous so I flowered them a week or so earlier than I was going to.
Apologies for the confusion answer but they are older than 2 months but look like they should be closer to a month in age.

I have a funny little story for you all today. About a week ago I decided to germinate some seeds and get an early start on the next round of plants. I put a Tropical Punch seed into a pot of soil and went to put it into the tent but dropped the entire pot. Soil went everywhere and I lost the seed. I looked everywhere for it but couldn't find it. So I swept up the mess (soil) and put it onto the top of the pots in the rest of the garden rather than throw it away. Yesterday I found the seed....

It was in the Orange Cane's pot lol....
DSC05756.JPG

I watered it a little as those pots are pretty dry and later that day potted it up....
DSC05758.JPG

Then I dropped it again!....
DSC05760.JPG

I didn't lose it this time though....

Today she is happy lol. It's almost like she'd heard about how I treat my plants and was trying to escape. Anyway, there is a Tropical Punch from G13 Labs added to the next rounds roster. With her will be a Deep Candy from Green House Seeds which has me interested as it will be my first CBD strain. It's advertised as 13% CBD and 0.5% THC. I've not decided on the 3rd plant for that round just yet but I'm leaning towards either a Double D's or a Sour Strawberry (Strawberry Banana X Chemdog) from Crockett's Family Farm. Both of those are regs though so I will confirm the gender on those before giving them any of the spotlight.

Peace.

Professor, you have given new meaning to the term "seed drop." :laughtwo:

Lol. I think the most strains I've ever had to choose from was about 16. It felt like my own little dispensary.

The Melon Gum is Bubblegum X Lavender and sounds pretty good. The write up for this strain is a bit over the top but it should be some top quality med.
I think Tropical Punch needs her own Theme Song lol.
She's not earned that one yet. First we have the veg gauntlet to make it through.
