ProfessorFlora Presents: The Flowering Inferno

Hey 420.

Flowering day 16 and all is good in the hood. In fact it's better than good and all of these plants are growing very nicely indeed. I have made a couple errors as well but they forgave me it would seem. The errors came in the form of under-watering. I opened the tent last week and before me were several limp plants. They literally collapsed in a dramatic heap and looked pretty poor. I immediately gave them a double dosage of a watering which is 20 litres and closed the tent door. At this point I should mention that I have decided to bottom feed these plants as they drink too fast for the tiny chef hats to cope with. I thought that 1 gallons could be fun to grow with but they need watering every 2 days at the moment and we don't even have any flowers yet. So I decided to treat them like I do with coco and just dump an entire watering cans worth of water at their feet and let them drink at their own pace. It is working very well apparently as these plants are looking great. Anyway, I went back to the tent to see the damage and to my surprise, they were all back up and looking good again. I lost a few of those mega leaves but that's what they're for right?....

Here are the Purple Urkle's from WSE. These 4 are all growing nicely and the runtiest is now the tallest. They are all beginning to push flowers now as well....

The Orange Cane's are interesting and they didn't stretch quite as much as I thought they might. That is a good thing....

The Double D's did stretch as much as I thought it would and was super-cropped to allow the others to catch up a little. I snapped one of her branches badly but the next day it was right back up....

So that was the indoor plants. Now I will show you what is going on outdoors. The truth is, not a lot. The Afghan Landrace won't amount to much but it is pretty. I think we could get some flavoursome hash from her if she doesn't go mouldy over the next couple of weeks....

The bag seed plants in the 10 gallon pot will definitely not make it. They are fairly tropical looking, slow growing and are taking a battering in the winds. I'll just leave them until the end, whatever and whenever that may be....

So, that brings us to the final Double D's. Now this one is doing great and we will see something from her in the next couple of weeks. This is looking to be my first successful outdoor plant and there is no way I would have thought that this one would have survived the weather but there's not a mark on her.....

So that's sort of it. Hope everyone is well and having fun.
Happy growing everyone.

Nice looking bunch, Professor!

I'm amazed by the way you pack 'em in so closely.

I love those little fuzzy buds on the outdoor Double Ds. They look potent!

BTW, since your chef's hats seem to be solely for growing weed, when (if) you cook an elaborate meal do you wear a fabric grow pot on your head? I'd love to see that. :Rasta:

I can't decide if those plants are more crowded than the 37 in one pot! Looking good so far that's for sure. :thumb:

The Aghan purple is really pretty and congrats on getting a result from the DDs! Oh, don't tell the manufacturer of The Compost Machine that you're throwing animal parts in there or it might void your warranty.
It's pretty crowded in there but not for much longer. Getting snippy!

I finally managed to get some pink pistils from one of the Afghanis. I would have liked to have kept it if not for the move. Parhaps I still can.

Those composters are full to the brim which would make sending them back a tad tricky. Could you imagine the postage and packaging!
Splendiferous!
Splendiferous Herbacasaurus.

Cheers GB.

Like I said to Shed. It won't be long and I'll strip those of a lot of their leaves. I'll do a better job of the lower stuff this time around as well.

I'm looking forward to trying that outdoor Double D's as it seems different. It smells better as well.

When we cook it's plastic pots.

Flowering day 21.

The tent is ram packed with plants that just seem to keep on growing....

You could argue that it's getting silly now so here are some pics of the tops before we get snippy wid it.
I forgot which all of them were and at this stage it's hard to work out which is which. This isn't a game of spot the difference....

Then I lost my mind and put Will Smith on the radio....

Look at that pot. Who's in charge of this grow room? Tim fucking Burton!....

I'm sure it'll all grow back....

Happy growing everyone.

Good air flow now Prof :thumb:
I think I can hear their knees knocking with the temps that were getting at night.
Excellent clear-out Professor. We (the plants and I) are much happier now.
It was getting a bit sweaty in there. I still need to remove a little but more from the bottoms but other than that, I think we're good until harvest with these.
You know what's different about this grow from all the previous ones...chef's hats!
That and Amazons super shit soil.
Neither is it a game of "name that plant" else they will all die!

Phewf.

LOL!
If you look closely you can see Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter lurking around the stems. It's nearly Halloween and that's when they're most active in the grow room. I'm looking out for any signs of leaf damage especially as Depp once played a fucking gardening lunatic with literal shears for hands.

Hey 420.

It's double update day today with one being a bonus harvest update which we will do now.

The outdoor Double D's was harvested yesterday. The weather was not in our favour and it DD wouldn't have held out much longer. I think that the cold and wet nights have done her some good as she smells fantastic. They say stress can help to improve the smell and flavour of the plants and this girl has been through plenty of that. There was a small bit of mould right down on a small lower flower but that was it. I found plenty of insects including catapillars and aphids on her but they didn't do much. Because of this, this plant didn't go anywhere near the grow room and risk contaminating the others. This plant was sat right in slug central and the damage to her is about as minimal as an uncared for plant could receive. And it really was uncared for. I barely fed or even paid much attention to her at all really. The reason she didn't get fed much was because the pot was always swamped and I only remember it drying out once and it was so dry that I thought I might have killed her lol. This plant is awesome and I'll miss it. We still have one more though. Here is my first successful outdoor plant, the Double D's #3....

Don't think we'll get much but it'll definitely fill a jar. It's actually ready as well with some amber trichs. Not like last year's attempts. I'm really happy with this one.
:passitleft:

I forgot to mention that the Double D's had a good bud wash. Much better than I would normally do and also that the other outdoor plants haven't made it. I haven't got a pick of them yet but the landrace melted and the others look like they'll still be going next year. They may have melted by now though as the last time I saw them was two days ago.

Flowering day 28.

This is yesterday's update which I'm just getting around to lol. The garden has some leaves again and I haven't mixed up which pic is which today....

One of the Purple Urkle's is half the size of the rest and needs to be raised up. I nearly got away with watering them all as a group....

Here are the flowers.

Congrats on your first outdoor harvest Professor! I'm pretty sure there were more pics than buds so I really got a thorough tour of that...you are obviously and rightfully proud of that success. :bravo:
Lol. I did go a bit crazy with the pics.
I was just so impressed that it could handle the UK's weather. If I had known that before then I'd have taken lots of clones for putting outdoors. I got some seeds from the first one which I can't wait to germinate but don't know what pollinated her. I bet she will lose her hardiness now.
And the Chef's Hat Grow (hereafter known as the CHG) looks like the sticks you use to hold up other plants when they get too tall.
The good thing about having sticks like that is that when they start getting heavy you can just tie them to their neighbor and they kind of stay up on their own. I'm pretty certain that from this point on none of those (except for the small PU) could be removed from the tent without collapsing.
I like the chef hats. If I order some more now then this time next year we could do another CHG. I don't think these will make another round.

Flowering Day 32.

The pics can do the talking today....

Looks like it's going to be a frosty holiday season, Professor! :Rasta:

Hey 420!

It's flowering day 39 and I'm still very happy with this round. It's not quite as clean this time around though and we do have some stress showing on some of them. It's your typical rust spots and general leaf damage and I'm not going to worry too much about it now. It could be several things as I'm doing things differently this time. Small pots, bottom fed soil and extreme environmental conditions are some of the things which could be causing it. The environment is almost the opposite of what I'm normally dealing with. We have humidity coming in at around 25-30% and the temps are at around 15C-17C when ever I check and I'm sure it's lower at night. What this means is we should be able to push the colours and frost with this round provided the plants continue to handle the pressure. Things are looking good now though....

Double D's....

The smell coming from that tent is extraordinary. The Purple Urkle's each have a different scent ranging from woody to juicy berries so Itll be interesting to see how they all turn out. The Orange Cane's are funky and one of them is straight up orange citrus. The others are more like OG's. Double D's you're all probably bored of by now but it's still super funky though there are a few contenders to out-stink her in this grow. Anyway, hope you've all been good and here are some bonus pics to chew on....
