Potgoblin's Auto Blue Mystic CFL Stealth Grow 2012

Hey there potgoblin! I've always wanted to try blue mystic so that maybe next on my list. I got my seeds from nirvana and JUST lost a plant due to incurable sickness so i just started a new grow today. Good luck on your grow and try not to panic too much. Puffpuff was spot on with his advice. Check the basic. Read up in the "How to grow marijuana" section and check out the plant abuse chart. I'm still learning the ropes so im not quite sure how to help but i will try as much as possible!

thanx again :) iv just done a ph test on my water and its coming out at 6.4, guessed it would be about there as its straight rain water, as for soil i don't know, i haven't got a soil ph test kit just a water one i use for my fish :p as for soil composition all it says on the bag is that its low in peat and not suitable for lime hating plants, not much use there lol and i'v been watering when the soil becomes dry about an inch/ inch and a half down, i wont add any nutes now until shes much larger, not after what its done to her lol really do appreciate you stopping by to try and help, fingers crossed she'l recover :) as for the pot id say its roughly 5 liters in total but iv only been using a 5th of that (ish), haven't been watering the full length as i didn't see much point, hopefully the 2 liters should be enough if she continues to get worse i'l repeat it again :thanks: once again puff puff :)
 
hey princess pot thanx for stopping by :) ( i KNEW all you friendly helpful growers were hiding on here somewhere ;) ) yeh this baby is a nirvana seed as is the auto blueberry i got, (that will be the next grow), iv been researching hard for months getting ready for this but i suppose you have to do it yourself to get the best idea of what to do :) thanx for your support to both of you and i'l certainly be keeping an eye on both your journals to see how your getting on :)
 
oh and "note to self", don't LST so early and don't feed so early lol :p
 
well shes an auto so goin keep her on a 20/4, but iv released most of the hooks to let her stand up a little more so now shes completely off the ground leaves and all, once shes grown a few more sets of leaves il bend her back down, i want the new growth iv seen her putting out just above the first branches to get more light and bush out ya see :)

lol the plant is only 1 or 2 inches tall, if the light cant reach in there ,ya must be using a birthday candle.. actually the soil looks very wet in the pics, the plant looks kinda stunted,for a 2 week old plant:passitleft::passitleft:
 
lol i didn't think the light would reach the circled areas as they get covered by the newest leaves but once i tie her back down those parts will be exposed but going to wait till shes a bit larger :) i'm using a 125w grow light duel spectrum cfl which for just her i'm hoping will make a good first go of it :)
 
i'm starting to wonder maybe i'm over thinking what i'm doing, it is my first grow after all but that's probably why i'm making mistakes :oops:
 
everybody here had their 1st grow,sometime ..I'm very new to this site but i'm 58 ,and have been growin and smokin since I was 16..I think that adds up to about 325.. so...You'll do fine , your gonna learn alot with this 1st plant, make sure you use a reflector on the cfl's, so ya can put the light on the plant ,
 
you must have loads of experience then :) any other tips for me from what you've seen? and well i don't have a reflector but iv lined the walls with reflective white plastic which seems to be doing a pretty good job, also its a big bulb and a small cabinet lol
 
no tips other than stick with it,,I have only grown indoor for a short time,I have 2 different cfl's grows going right now,but i only posted a few pics of them in my gallery , the pics are dated so you can see progress I have 9 cfl's in 1 grow and 3 bigger ones in the other ,,please go to my gallery and check em out
 
your girls are looking great! i know with the set up i have i can't even begin to hope for anything like that but id be very happy if this plant looked half as good as any of yours :) to be honest though i'd be really happy if i could get half an ounce of nice smoke of this one plant, i really hope she shows her genetics and turns purple/blue to, i love colourful weed :)
 
do they still grow nice dense tight nugs the same as other types of lights? iv heard they can sometimes be airy, but not sure how true that is
 
hey potgoblin so i read through ur posts and it looks like ur watchin the plants every move. i too was like this on my first grow and i found that wat i thought was helping my plants was actually hurting them. i tried to be as hands on as i can and almost killed my babies. so i started looking at alot of the experienced growers journals and one thing they stressed more than anything is the K.I.S.S. method. it stands for Keep It Simple Stupid. i know this sounds weird but u can definitely over love ur plants. basically when i found this out i went hands off for a week only watering when the plants were almost bone dry and just let the plants do there thing. once they sprout there goal in life is to keep growing up, it is a weed afterall and is very resilient. my advice to u as of now would be to go hands off for a week and just watch and learn as much as u can about how the plant grows and identifying when the plant speaks to u(needs water, needs food, etc.). your plant isnt just growing up its also growing down into the soil so the lack of water will make roots expand and reach more of the growing container in search of the moist soil, thus creating a healthier and sturdier plant which u will see on the top side. i only water my plants once the leaves start to droop at the tips, thats usually the first sign that the plant would like some water. and the lst is a good thing to do just try not to do it every day. i usually lst my girl once a week same day every week, it gives the plant some time to grow back up and fill out that way the next week i can reposition my ties.

if u havent yet i would take a look at docbuds approach to growing where he ignores the plant completely and only worries about his root system. his plants will let him know if hes doing things right by the way they grow.

hashfiend this seems like some sound advice and i'm almost certain your right, the last 2 weeks it feels like iv done nothing but think about my new little project, all the posts iv made kinda show this lol, i'm going to do my best to take your advice and just leave her be until she looks like she needs me :) fingers crossed that she recovers that is :) thanx greatly for the advice :)
 
i too am growing an auto right now. i had an accident where my light fell and burned the top growth causing the plant to be topped. i started freaking out because i had always heard that topping autos were bad for them but i kept with it and now she is looking beautiful. this is only my third grow and i thought that it was gonna be worthless, not yield much but now she has recovered and is looking great, and through the use of lst she looks like i might get over an oz. off of her. this is way better then the quarter i thought she was gonna give me. here she is though.

wow she looks great nice work! i doubt this grow will look as great as she does, maybe my next one lol, after all the drama today i think if i just leave her to heal then maybe i can start to get this right :) after all the wonderful support iv been shown today my mind is much more at rest, especially after seeing your beautiful girl, what strain is she and how are you growing her? lights, room size etc? looks like you may have a bit more of a comprehensive set up than me from the results your getting, what sort of age/size was she when she got damaged? just trying to get a reference of how well she could recover if i just leave her alone :p
