little update, this morning i woke up to find a couple little red ants crawling along the leaves on one of my girls branches!! im going to get a bunch of ant traps today but i just want to know if they will harm my plant at all?!? they kind of gross me out, crawling along my little baby...i have no idea where they came from and there was only 2 when i inspected..any suggestions or feedback?

Diatomaceous Earth, also called DE. You can get in food grade. You can dust your soil and some bottom leaves and it should kill the ants. Might have to use a que tip to apply it... but it should handle the problem. It is not an instant kill thing. They will go thru it and die. Google it to find more stats!

Thanks HH and Tmac, i'm gonna go out tomorrow and get some DE if i can find it. I got ant traps the other day and they have done the job so far (that i can see).

hey zb, no need for the extra chemicals, ant traps will do just fine ,just get the ones where the ants take the food back to the nest. at 40 days it's still way to early to taste test, but if you must you must. i remember when i first started growing i was very impatient and very eager for my plants to mature and i would always snip my buds to taste. the early ones were always very harsh with no high but then they would get better as time went on. so live and learn my friend, go ahead and try it and continue to try it until harvest. your best high will be after a 4 to 8 week cure, but you'll get a good high after you dry your buds. always try new things.
