Do yellowing fan leaves always happen late in grows? I'm not sure I will see that on my hydro grow unless I just give them plain water for a week or more.

Attention all you budget growers!
I just picked up a knockoff of the ONA Block at Home Depot. It's $4 and works amazingly! I can't believe it, and I wish I had heard of this stuff sooner. I'm kicking myself for wasting the money on all the carbon filter crap. Not that carbon filters are crap, they're great for big expensive grows where you do have to take serious measures to control the smell. But for small grows like mine this thing got rid of all the plant sent throughout my closet and room in... god it was probably a single minute. This will definitely come in handy during harvest to! My room just smells like it was cleaned!
I can't believe controlling the odor would be as easy as this. And even if it only lasts a month I can just buy another for $4. It says it lasts for 90 days, that'll be great if it does. Attention mods, I think there should be a small thread in the FAQ, Everything You Need To Know About Growing Marijuana thread regarding using this as odor control for small grows. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, I just wish I would have known about this earlier.. and reading that thread was the first resource I went to.

How do you deploy the gel? Do you set it behind a fan?

I just set it on top of my grow box. If you put it in direct airflow it works even better.

that's awesome news dude. The smell from my grow goes all through my house since I'm pulling air from my ducting, and when my furnace comes on, it just spreads it throughout the house. This will DEFINITELY come in handy for when they get really stinky in the next couple weeks.

MUNKI:well it happen durring the flushing period due to the lack of nutes going into them, so thats when they start taking the nutes from themselfes.Meaning the fan leaves cause they contain the most nitro so thats the first to go.thats why when you see picts of the plant prior tho being chopped the leaves are more then likely either yellow or dead.
DFW: i'n not using odor controll my fans do all the work for me and them some for the next crop.But i will be checking that lil package out.Sound like a great deal. And it will give me a reason to go to home depot.. lol

Flower day 44: Small update. I plucked off the dead leaf fingers from the fan leaves that were affected. Doesn't look to bad. Buds have increased in size and trich production.
Looks like this popcorn isn't so bad.

AmGrowR pointed me to your journal and I'm blown away. I'm going to be tackling a similar endeavour quite soon and will be using your journal extensively. Well it's flowering day 46, things are going well. I trimmed a few dead/dying fan leaves and gave the girls some water. Buds are slowly but surely growing. They are very frosty btw.
Your boy isn't looking bad, just keep that pollen away from me! lol.

i wouldnt coubt it. Cfl's tend to drag the flowering period a lil bit more, not a huge diff but somewhat of a diff.
