Pookss's 2x4x6 High Brix Garden FT, Smurfzilla, Dark Plasma #9 & Cereal Milk

Well. I decided 1.5 hours was long enough for post brix spray shots. Hahah.

Some of the smurfzillas are 100% suffering from overwatering. I didn’t want to have to feed them and do seperate days of brix spraying. I figure the runts will get culled anyways. Other than that, they loved the feeding and seems like things are shaping up. I’m pretty sure I ordered a second humidifier the other day, excited to get this tent nice and moist.

Here’s some group shots.

If you’ve been following , can you spot the two dark plasmas!? HAhah.

Edit: three hours post brix spray and they all look a lot happier. The two runts are still slightly droopy by most of them seems very happy. That brix spray + feeding was just what they needed. Hopefully we’re back on track now.

Hey Pooks! So I think you brixed way to heavy. Hopefully they'll be fine but too much brix can burn the roots which will show up in burnt leaves. You're doing the right thing following the directions! That is what doc wants all new brixxers to do so that's good. I guess the instructions can get a little confusing and there is a lot to remember. I did suggest 3oz of water with 3ml of brix but it was a few pages back. Next brix, in 7-10 days or even 14 days you should do about this much, probably a little more because the plants will be bigger so say 4oz of water with 4ml of brix.

Again, I hope the heavy brix does not affect your plants but I had to say something because brix burn is real. It may be worse to have a solution that is too strong than too much of a regular solution.

Your girls are looking really good! :high-five:

Too strong you think? It was a 1/2 a tsp mixed in with 16oz of water. That’s basically 15 ml in 16oz

No not too strong, too much. Shouldbe only been 3oz with 3ml for all,of,your plants, possibly with some leftover. I'm thinking a too strong solution would've been worse and hope that too much is not gonna hurt your plants.

Oh, shouldn’t matter as long as the ratios were the same.

They look killer right now!

Hi Pookss,

Hey bud the ratio you used was not correct and actual at 1/6 the full strength. This is good news if you over applied, and if you were shaking droplets off the leaves, that’s too much.

You are correct on the 32:1 ratio for brix, but when you do the math:

16oz of water = 3 tsp of Brix (same as 1 tablespoon) A tablespoon is 1/2 oz

So 16 to 1/2 is the same ratio as 32 to 1

Get it?

It should be applied as a light mist to the undersides of the leaves. (No heavy drops should form)

This stuff is easy to screw up, I like to use a “conversion” app in my phone to help with ratios, especially when mixing the imperial and metric system together.

I think you dodged a bullet on this one! :hookah:

I’ll have to double check when I get home but I swore I did the math multiple times. Regardless the plants look the healthiest they been all grow.

I’ll look at my math after work and see where I messed up.

I’ll be sure to double and triple check my measurements.

How accurate my math is depends on what I’m toking on and how much. :p But I was straight as an arrow when I responded to your post this morning.:high-five:

You see the problem for me is I just got a great batch of distillate made edibles from a homie. Eat half a gummy after work and the night is forgotten...

Haha.

I think half the problem with learning the kit is almost everyone is stoned! It has to increase the learning curve!

Regardless of learning curve and mixed up numbers, the gardens super happy. Got a second humidifier in the tent as well and that’s helping a lot.

I’ll post pictures on Sunday.

Yep the kit is forgiving

I've noticed! glad for that.

Dopy, i checked on the girls today after work. They're all droopy. Do you think they're droopy from still being in 1g or from the weak brix spray? Last night they were all still praying hard. Lights have only been on for an hour as well, might be that.

humiditiy is now in check, second humidifier did the trick. Temps as well.

I popped a few out of their 1 gallon pots and they seems to be close to root bound but not bad at all. Have you noticed they tend to get root bound quicker with the kit?

They just started to alternate nodes, so they will be getting culled and transplanted in the next few days

So, I filled the pot part way with soil...put down about a teaspoon of Roots! around the pot....then filled the soil to the top, removed the pot, dusted the hole with Roots!, Scored the roots on the plant....planted it.....watered with Transplant 1/2 in two gallons of water, one gallon to each plant.

They had their first 11/13 photoperiod last night. We're blooming...no extended veg time needed as there are plenty of roots already and I'm in "small" containers.

Hi Pookss,

I copied this out of the Darkscotia apprentices Doc Bud journal. It shows the size of the plant, the root formation, and techniques used for transplanting. Notice the roots- that’s what we are looking for in the ones, with an indoor friendly plant. Usually at that point the plants are feeding/ drinking everyday for a week.

Plants droop and perk up with light cycle, but you need to recognize when the droop is from the soil going dry. I will notice my small plants pray the day after a watering, then I will eventually see them not pray, and droop as days go on. This is where I push them, because I still feel a little weight to the pot, compared to a dry soil filled pot. The plants are stressed and focus on building roots searching for the remainder of water. Eventually if you wait too long you will see wilt. This or 6 hours before this wilt is where I give a drench or drink. It builds massive roots, which will support a massive plant in the flower stage. Eventually you will need to water/drench every day, and this is when you upcan to your final pot size. When they need water/drench everyday in the 1g pots and I’m not ready to upcan to the final pot size, Doc recommended that we alter the drench schedule - for example. GI-GI-H2O-TP-TP-H20, repeat.

Basically the soil mass is too small to support the biota for that size plant and we compensate with double and even triple in a row drenches. Of coarse when you upcan go back to normal drench schedule.

I’ve never observed droop caused by brix spray though.

Thanks for linking that. My roots are still a few days/a week away from looking like the ones you linked.

They do probably need to be watered or feed tonight. Following a full strength drench earlier in the week, I’m going to follow the instructions and do just plain water.

I’m usually pretty good at catching the plants right at or before droopy from thirst. It seems the plants have been a little sluggish to wake up. Took them about four to five hours into lights on. Just was wondering if it could be cause from low soil energy due to the few light feedings/errors that have happened.

With the kit, and as everyone’s recomendation I’ve been pushing it with waiting to water the ladies.

I’ll post some pictures today and hopefully we can get some opinions on when to transplant in 10gs, and as to the overall health.

Mine take a good amount of time to get root bound, but I am under T5s or very weak LEDs. I think if I ran them under more powerful lights it would take them a bunch less time than it does.

After looking at the pictures dopy linked, in at least another week out from complete rootbound. The roots look great and healthy, I’ll do an up skirt shot today after lights on.

Edit: side note, first time vegging under Samsung diodes, love them.... Although I do think they demand more calcium, as people have noted.
