Pollen chuckers paradise

Now that I have my male in his own 4x8 tent with a hps over him I'm thinking about doing a open pollination with some of the girls. Couple of the girls are small, couple are kinda big. I'm thinking I'll collect pollen for the big plants and the smaller ones I'll just pollinate the whole plants. I have a small Chernobyl ( new pheno ) , 24k gold and Ting. Big original Chernobyl and rare darkness

Open pollination will give you a ton of seeds. Even a small plant can give you seeds for years. Sounds like a solid plan. One thought. Grade your mothers. Especially the plants you only do a branch or 2. This will give you a lot better idea of what order you are going to want to try the hybrids you make. By the time you get too some of these seeds you may not remember all the little things.

Hi Dankman. Yeti put me on to your fantastic chuckers journal. Thanks for putting it up. It comes just in time for my first chucking, a stankberry ala Van stank. My male has been poofing for about a week. He's been under 2 17 w cfl's a floor away from the grow area and almost done. The exciting part is the females will be ready in 2 weeks for a branch pollination(hopefully). I'll be trying to get more stankberries, blue dream cbd's, and northern lights crosses. I'll be happy to sit over in the corner in a full lotus position:laugh: and enjoy learning here.

Hi otter :welcome: My hope for this thread is to be ongoing to help spread the knowledge and personal experience with breeding. More the merrier :high-five:

Crossing & back-crossing
"With several generations of crossing together brothers and sisters from the same parents—selecting on the basis of desirable traits—a greater degree of consistency and therefore predictability can be achieved. Desired traits become dominant and will always appear, while undesirable traits are gradually eliminated from the gene pool and are no longer expressed.
For some traits, back-crossing plants to previous generations allows traits to become stabilised more quickly. Many breeders erroneously believe that some degree of back-crossing is necessary to stabilise any strain, but in reality this technique is only required for certain characteristics."

I have a separately vented room under negative pressure just for males. I plan to have some fun making a strain or two and stabilizing them. It will be a fun project aside from the regular flower production.
some day when im going to stay home all the time ill get into it more seriously rite now I like to leave for the summer it puts a real damper on breeding!
