Planet Express & The Attempt To Repopulate Mars

Well,
I know I’ve been saying I’ll update today, I’ll try to for tonight. My wife’s been super sick so I haven’t really been able to do much on the garden. Haven’t been able to set up the new tent or put up the new light. I’m really just trying to help her get better, hopefully by tonight I’ll be able to get something going.
Eitherway here’s a picture to hopefully tie you’s over.

That’s more than enough of an update for today that you have already given us :). Look after the wife :)

Hope the misses gets better soon. Make sure you go above and beyond for her as it sounds like she did for you. I know you will/are :thumb:

Plants look amazing. They will look as good or better when you're ready for the next update. Have a great day. Best wishes for you and the family.

Thanks @BudShark, the wife and I did throw around a couple names actually. Just for fun. We did like “Dinah Jeffries”
(author of the novel Sapphire Widow)
for the Sapphire OG x White Widow
And
“Soggy Banana” for the
Sapphire OG x Tropicanna Banana
I like em, can be allot of fun, good idea to breed them. Cheers

Well, I have a tent on the way. Should be here by Tuesday. I was thinking I’ll move the clones and donors into the tent and start some new seeds under the new veg light.
I think you could call this tent the "Romperoom", don't forget to put some incense and a bottle of Champagne in there. Cheers

Update:
Sorry it took so long, but I’m all honesty not too much to update really as far as the plants go. Day 38 since flip, I did up the feeding I noticed the soil getting dryer quicker and quicker. So I’ve been giving them 5 L each every 3 days or so.
Feeding as followed:

AN M/G/B - 4ml each / L
Cal/Mag - 1.5ml/ L
BigBud - 2ml/ L
BudCandy - 2ml/ L
Terpinator - 7ml/ L
pH - 6.4
Temps have been around 77 F
RH - hovering around 50%

Here’s some bud shots.

Now on to the next part,

As I mentioned early I did receive a tent, well I got it built today so I moved the “donors” over. They still have NO signs of anything. No Pistils, No pollen sacs. They are super confused. This is day 17 of 12/12 for them.

Colloidal Silver on the left (still spraying)

and GA3 on the right.

These are 85% Indica.....

That leaves us with the clones, which I should stop calling them that because realistically they’re full grown plants. I haven’t been doing anything as far as training goes, just letting them grow. Which in part was neglect. I will need to top them soon (probably make more clones) to even up the canopy as they’re getting way too tall. Then they’ll head into the tent with the donors. I have the itch to start some more....

New light is in position,

Thanks for all the well wishes, the wife’s starting to feel better. Much appreciated

Glad to hear your wife is feeling better. Amazing update! Flowers look fantastic, the new tent is exciting with the experiment and the clones are full blown plants haha. Quality pics and all the ladies look happy. Have a great night @Canadadoes :passitleft:

Thanks MG, I’m so far behind on everyone’s journals. It’s gonna take me a little while to catch up. As for tonight though, not a chance. I’m beat. With the wife being out of commission, kids have just been rocking my world lmao. I’m a big fan of the rigid ducting aswell, little more expensive but worth it. Hope all is well with you and yours brother, have a good night.

So I have a hermaphrodite question maybe you or someone following along can help me answer.

So I know a bit from all my research about genetic herms vs stress induced herms. So one question is where does the chemical induced hermaphroditism fall in, or is it is own subcategory?

Where I’m driving at is if using GA3, CS, or STS is a stressed induced hermaphroditism, why wouldn’t seeds from non-herm lineage but stress induced hermaphrodite plant be ok to use without risk of genetically herming offspring? Or are they ok but the percentage of viable seeds too low to be even considered a way of making feminized seeds?

Hey Phantom, I am way behind in journals being back to work, but I decided to weigh in on this in case no one else gave an answer.

So, hermaphroditism is stressed induced, whether from the early stages where true pollen sacs appear (usually causes by stress in weeks 3 and 4 after germination), or from a female coming near end of life trying to preserve the genetic line (these are the “bananas” that sometimes appear late in flower)

GA3, STS, and CS don’t actually produce hermaphrodites. They work by blocking ethylene production which initiates female flower development. By blocking this, and because the plant “needs” to flower, it produces make pollen sacs.

GA3, in higher concentrations, can cause a male plant to produce female flowers.

Hope that helps with the understanding of the differences:)
