PK Perpetual Grow Journal 2020

I dismantle the system and just took the pibbles into a container to have look.
Definitely have good root system developing, but What is all this slimy stuff building from?
what is this the MC? the hoses are kind of plugged. @Pennywise have you encountered anything like this?

@The Phantom i think my ph meter is damaged. Cuz no matter how much ph down i put in the new mixed water the ph sits at 6.7.

what do you guys do after the ph pen is used? how do you clean it. I just run it under tab water. since i gotta order another one is there any preferred one?

PK my only advice is to find a tried and true method of dwc, follow it to a T, and STOP trying things until you get a few successful runs in.
what you suggesting to go back to soil :hmmmm:

Are you using water from your aquarium?
i was last round. but the new water is from tab water that i tried phing
ph just wouldn't go down regardless of how much ph down i put

i have a ph4 solution. im gona test that

idk, maybe i should just go back to soil

I'm guessing the slime was probably bennies from your aquarium water that are now dying from the new water change.

I'm only suggesting you just stick with regular water dosed with your nutrients until you get a dwc grow or 5 under your belt before you try things like aquarium water.

If you're pH probe is done for there isn't much you can do but replace it. Do you keep your probe in a storage solution of KCL? It will extend the life of your probe tremendously.

With MC you should be able to bring the PH down
i'm sure my ph pen is faulty. it was working yesterday but its acting up today.

ya, i think im gona go back to just tab water then. is this the stuff your speaking off? kcl

Yup that's the stuff, 4M solution of KCL. Store your new pH pen in it and it should last a lot longer. The solution keeps the electrode from exchanging ions so the probe doesn't wear out. You should never keep a pH probe in distilled or ro water, it will strip the electrode solution of its ions making it useless.

ok, so i reseted the entire setup.
Since i don't have a working ph pn, i just took a pinch of ph down and stirred the pot. Normally that pinch brought the ph around 6.3ish. to 6.5ish. Will do the same thing again tomorrow until the ph pen and the kcl arrives. Thanks @The Phantom for telling me about the klc. never new about that.

I also removed the pump hose that brought the water up to the pibbles. The pump is just in the res creating a rotation stream. Its not visible at all. The hose going down the pot is a air hose.

250ppm each res
2ml hygrozyme

here goes another attempt :hmmmm:
