Pigeons420 Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

re: Pigeons420 Flies the Koupe & Goes Perpetual in 2015

heres a question for all u designers and techies can i make my non air cooled hps into a cooled one?

For ease and safety, I'd just hang some duct very close to the lamp. Exhaust it like usual, but with a slightly bigger fan. It won't cool the bulb as well, but it will help cool it some and will pull the hottest air out of the room.

Good idea!

As far as the 24/0 vs 18/6 in veg it HAS been proven and root growth and plant growth is a LOT more with 18/6 veg cycle. You have always got growth... well because they are plants and thats what they do! 18/6 will give you better and faster growth.

Everything is looking good! As far as your "awkward" plant you are burning her up!!!! Way to many nutes. She is clawing at the tips and showing tip burn trying to show u signs that her soil is to many PPM. Flush! You should be getting readings from your runoff after EVERY watering...

Yup I've read that about the 24/0 vs 18/6. Still keepin it 24/0 for the sake of indifference.

Yea she was nute burned. But that was at week 4. She's since recovered and what goes in comes out. Some of what you see is where her leaves have touched and spent the night sitting on a bulb. I need to fix the cabinet to better suit her needs.

Thanks for checkin me out Hunter!

re: Pigeons420 Flies the Koupe & Goes Perpetual in 2015

This has become a very informative thread, Pigeons.

Hunter nailed it with the overfeed on the Flower Bomb Kush. That girl is burning. Do not feed her. Flush her!

The "MATARO BLUE" shows signs of light/heat stress, when the leaf edges curls up "taco" as some call it. Get her lower from the light.

But! I gotta say that "Green Crack" and "ANESTHESIA" are beautiful! I'm watching them! ;)

Just goes to show that every strain/pheno is different. There is no "one setup fits's all" in this hobby.

You are rocking it! I'm still watching the hog! I'm interested in this strain after know what you have done with it. I've never done a "re-veg" This was not around back when I was growing full time. I want to know how to do this. I either took clones or the pheno was lost.

re: Pigeons420 Flies the Koupe & Goes Perpetual in 2015

I agree with hunter, 18/6 is the prefered light schedule in my mind.. The way i think about it is this... While the lights are on, (for simplicity sake) the plant dedicates 33% of its energy to photosythesis, 33% to root growth, and 33% to upward growth.. During the dark period, theres no light to photosythesize... Forcing the plant to use the energy it would normally use for photosynth, for root growth or leaf growth. That fact, coupled with the fact that plants store sugars for growth when there is no light... Tells me there needs to be a dark period for maximum daily growth. With 24/0 the plant cant keep up on sugar consumption......an obvious example is the stretching that goes on during 12/12. All that extra dark means more time dedicated to root and plant growth... Gotta take advantage of the sugar storage by allowing them time to take a break from photosynthesizing

Example: if youre doing house work, talking on the phone, and cooking dinner.. Chances are you might forget your laundry in the washer... Burn something youre cooking, or miss a part of your phone conversation... If you hang that phone up for six hours out of 24 the food and house work will come out better (if not faster)

Even the new tops and leaves are curling. You are still over feeding if the leaves are still curled.... I would lower PPM that you are feeding if you want to fix the issue. remember not all plants are the same. One might flower good with 800 ppm and one may take 1600 ppm

The leaves seem very very dark green as well -> N abundance

re: Pigeons420 Flies the Koupe & Goes Perpetual in 2015

I run my veg lights (4' shop-light-rigs) 24/0 It works well for my grow as I don't have much headroom. I used 18/6 for a long time. It worked great on some strains. The Indica doms I have grown seem to do better on the 24/0. Every cannabis pheno and every grow room is different. That's why we are here. Thanks for the great input. I learn so much from y'all!

Ok fair enough. I thought it was because the lights were too close but I will give her a flush.

Left tips "clawing" is signs of to many nutes. Leaf tip burn will soon follow leave clawing. Leave edges "canoeing" or curling up especially on the jagged edges is heat stress. Heat stress starts with the jagged edges and if continued the whole leaf will curl up like a canoe. Good lucky my friend!

re: Pigeons420 Flies the Koupe & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Well I will be harvesting the hog today. I don't want to. But she is asking for it. I'm afraid she will die completely before I get to week 10. Worse case scenario she because hash, oil or something else crazy. It's not a complete loss because I would never have the nerve to dedicate a whole plant to the fun stuff. So this is a unforeseen blessing. Gotta take it in stride

I decided to take a look at the trichomes to see if all was lost. And surprisingly there are a number of Amber trichomes. I'm not sure if this is because she is dying? Or because she was closer to harvest then I thought. She look 100 some days last harvest and this time is just the beginning of week 7. So, it's hard to take everything into account and know just where she should be.

I'll keep you all updated as the process unfolds.

re: Pigeons420 Flies the Koupe & Goes Perpetual in 2015

I guess what's worrisome about these pictures is how close the yellowing is to the bud itself. I'm worried that with a couple more days the buds will fade away on me.

I'm actually satisfied with the way things turned out. I'll probably end up smoking some of it any ways. While the rest goes to oil

Consider her prepped and ready for her next round of reveg. This will be the reveg of the reveg of the hog

re: Pigeons420 Flies the Koupe & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Well it looks like you have a few problems going on... It looks like you are burning her up! If you dont want to harvest I would flush her with 4 gallons of tap water and then give her one gallon for mild solution of about 500 ppm? A even balance of everything. 1-1-1. How often are you having to water her? Does she get dry every day? I would try watering with a mild solution and see how she acts. Are you sure the pH is correct? Your tips are completely burnt up. Dont worry about yellowing to much as far as getting to your buds... It should not start effecting the buds for a while after the leaves are even completely dead.

When looking at the deficiency chart it looks like it could possibly be a Zinc deficiency as well... Tips do burn with Zn deficiency but I would say that looks to be nute burn...

Hmmm... Well see if you get more feedback maybe someone can help you a little more than me. If you flush your plant, Get the pH right, And give her a balance of nutrients she would have to bounce back. She wouldnt have any choice unless shes root bound and suffocating.
