I chew the tops also but only because I notice a bitterness when the leaves are properly getting nutrients and no bitterness when they have been properly flushed. My buddies taught me to do this to fan leaves before harvest to be sure all the nutes were flushed out.

Okay, I didn't chew the one top I did to Scylla, and now I feel as if I let her down in some strange way :) Totally understand why you'd eat it, though -- and it certainly looked lovely and fresh and green! Maybe I'll graze next time ...

Great tip, CG, about checking the flush by tasting leaves ...

I went all day yesterday waiting for someone to comment and it wasn't until I'm in bed that the conversation breaks out :rofl: you guys are up at the wrong hours :rofl:

I seriously believe that it's unnecessary to throw any part of the plant away. This entire plant is capable of providing us with wonderful benefits. Why not munch the pieces you cut off? She deserves it :)

Ahhh my man. You sir are missing out. I eat 4-5 leaves a day to maintain a healthy diet.

The taste is minimal. And you're not eating chemicals as much as you are nutrients.

I found for best results add a little bit of bud with the trimmings. It's never easy but when I'm harvesting I will just snip the lower stuff off and straight into the hash bag. It's more of a pain in the ass to trim that shit then it is to just drop it In the hash bag.

Yeah I do this already, kept in a bag in freezer waiting for its turn to shine.

If I could give you any recommendation, it would be to use bud for butter and trim for hash. I find bud makes great butter and bubble bags will take the trichomes off anything so the trim is great for this. With a little bud for spice ;)

Good suggestion -- I love hash (it was always my favourite back in the day) and making my own sounds great. But I also love to bake :)

Checked on the girls tonight and I was definitely eyeing their leaves -- I think I freaked them out a bit.

Nah I don't think you'll freak them out.

I feel like there purpose is to provide us with the best medication they can. If you're not eating them, you're not allowing them to give you everything they're offering.

Really you're providing a service by eating them :)
