Pigeons420 Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Did the forums just change format or something? Seems like they are harder to read on my phone all of a sudden...

I find sometimes it kicks in and out of the mobile version.

Tips for growing out regular (non feminized) seeds:
Grow lots - lots may be males and you will toss those or use for breeding.
Use small pots for first batch. I use large yogurt containers - something around a litre should do
Grow them to decent size and try to treat them the same as best you can. If one is getting more light then rotate them regularly. Once they get to 8" high switch to bloom. Then within a week or so you will be able to spot the males. Dispose of them or move away for breeding. Then clone your remaining females. Take a couple of each in case clones die. Once you have harvested and cured and sampled the first generation you decide which is best.

The same is happening on PC. More than likely they reverted to an older layout to either: 1. Update coding/add stuff to the new layout 2. A server could be down forcing another server with older firmware to take over. I have reported this issue :thumb:

I go for best smoke when picking buy some people also go for tight nodes or higher yield as secondary. This is why I say to try and treat them the same.

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Well I have unfortunate news. 2 of the 5 girls I had just planted have shriveled up and died. The other 3 look good and strong but again here I am with a heat issue for my veg closet.

I have all but the one light turned off. I'm hoping this will be suffocate to keep temps low.

My blueberry headband is sure taking its time. I'm sure I've stunted her with the heat.

My seeds should be here soon so I want to get this damn thing dialed in. But Easier said than done.

Time to feed them :)

How hot is your veg cabinet? Time for more cheap fans?
Hopefully you can plant jackalope soon, I am excited for that. I wish I could start it now but I have too many plants at the moment.

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

It gets a bit warm. But I think it was my own fault. I should put them on an 18/6 schedule so they have a cool down time. I'm gonna get the Chocolope planted today. The veg cabinet should be fine as long as I allow for some dark time. It's just been so hot here lately that I've even kept my ballast on 50% most days.

I'll send pictures in a couple hours to show progress!

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

You have Chocolope too? Or you mean jackalope?
Switch to 18/6 with hottest day time being the 6 hours of dark. Then check temps. I run my lights on at night anyway for cheaper electricity rates.

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Sweet I am excited to see how they do. Once my 3 jacks smack are done so I can cull to one best phenotype and my 5 incredible bulk are culled to one then I can start more seeds. Too many going at once right now for comfort

Great update, P420!
I'm glad I got to see the wedding pic before the mods pull it.

They got it! Ahah. It was lovely while it lasted

***Tuesday Update***

Hi Friends!

I hope you're all feeling appreciated and loved today. I know I am.

Despite the tornados in the area things are looking great in the garden. The veg cabinet is exploding with life and there's something to be said about the feeling that comes along with it! It's exciting to blast through the germination process and start the seedling stage. Although, they are still quite vulnerable at this stage. And I think I have experienced that again with the BlueBerry HeadBand. I believe I put her into shock when I moved her from under the main light to her own CFL, but I put her too close. She hasn't done much in a week or so. I expect her to fade off :(. But we move on.

Enough with the sadness. Lets take a stroll through the garden so I can show you what's going on!

VEG ROOM

JABB'S STASH(week 1)

Coming in very healthy. I think I have finally dialed in my cabinet. By "dialed in" I really mean I'm learning DONT TOUCH IT! I do so many little things to the girls rather then just leaving them in spot and letting them grow. Raising the light accordingly. I make things so complicated for myself for no particular reason. So, that's going to stop.

Mantra - "Just let them grow"

JACKALOPE

Just popping their heads up last night, it was a pleasant surprise to see them all up this morning. Aren't they just the cutest at this age?

GROW ROOM

MATARO BLUE(week 6)

And let the smell begin! She is really starting to give off a spicy kind of peppery smell. Certainly something I've never smelt before but something I like.

FLOWER BOMB KUSH(week 5)

She's starting to remind me of the Green Crack at this stage. Which is reassuring because I harvested a boat load off of her. Lower growth is still quite twisted but it hasn't recovered since veg so I'm going to focus primarily on the new growth.

Well there goes another update. Thanks so much for joining me today! I appreciate each of you and enjoy the company you provide. Take care and stay medicated.
:thanks:

The cola on that Matero Blue Pigeons...... Wow! Getting excited, are we? It's nice to have the different stages running simultaneously. I'm really warming up to the idea of perpetual. Looking great here. :thumb:

Thanks Susan!

Perpetual, I'm sure you agree, was the smartest decision I made. There's something to be said about ALWAYS having medication.

I used to have an anxiety that would kick in when I got down to the last couple nugs of my prescription. But now that I can open my cupboard and grab from ounces of herbs at any given time is a blessing :)

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

I want to run perpetual, but in Oregon's infinite wisdom, they only allow four plants with no consideration for seedlings or small cuttings.
I might be able to do: one cutting, one in one gallon, two in bloom under 12/12 or 11/13.

Well then PITA, use the 4 plants to your advantage and train those girls to produce enough herb without too much added time for LST or whichever. For my needs I think I could have 2 plants in veg and 2 plants in flower. I would just need some topping and bending going on to max that yield right out in the shortest amount of time.

I don't know, maybe that's bit of a long shot. Just don't let it bring you down. 4s a good place to start.

Beauty plants, Pigeons! And exciting prospects in line.:high-five::passitleft::partyboy:

Awe thanks Rascio! I've been drooling over Ostberg inlines all day. I have you to thank for that :).

The cheapest I could find one was from them directly for 119$ CDN I believe. Is that the deal?
