re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Good day my friends!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas holiday. I've been buried in festivities and responsibilities. I've had the odd moment to come down and take a look at the girls and things have been going great!
Temperatures around here are pretty chilly. -35C. The veg garden pays the biggest price for the cold weather because it's in a closet in my basement, which doesn't get too warm. It has its own heater but essentially that heater heats my basement as a whole rather then just the garden. But things are well.

I've decided I'm going to create a massive update. I figure since this is a perpetual journal it makes sense that I get all my ducks in a row and get all my information sorted out. For everyone else's reference and of course for my own. Things get so carried away here I forget when I planted seeds or when I switched lights to 12/12. So, I'm going to create another reference page like at the beginning of the journal. "The meat and potatoes" so to speak.

But I'm gonna get on with it. Get highly medicated and spend the next few hours smashing off an epic update!

EPIC UPDATE TO FOLLOW!!

***GARDEN UPDATE***

Let's get right to it shall we.

I've had this journal up and running for 7 months. I decided back then to go with a perpetual journal because I knew I wouldn't have the time to keep up with a bunch different journals at once. In doing so, I've learned that a lot of information gets missed because I don't start over again and again. So, I want to use this time to catch up with myself.
I've gotten so use to doing things as they come that I don't even record what week my flowers are in anymore. I feed them based on what they look like they need and I harvest them when their done. Not when time is up. This has been nice but it's not the most efficient way to keep tabs on all aspects of your garden. I often get lost on what date I should end nutrients and how old any particular plant really is. Which is good to know so you can introduce new plants with the anticipation of an up coming harvest.
So, with that in mind, here I go!

FLOWER ROOM

STRAIN

WHITE WIDOW XL (Auto)
"Countless varieties of cannabis has been developed and enjoyed by cannabis consumers all around the world. Among the thousands of strains available, there are a few that stand out of the crowd, constantly satisfying even the most picky connoisseurs. None is probably more famous than the classical White Widow. Though its heritage is now a mystery of a sort, one thing is 100% certain - the original White Widow, an all time legend, was definitely created in the Netherlands - right where Zambeza Seeds is located.

The first White Widow XL came out of the crossing of a beautiful Brazilian Sativa girl, pollinated by a specially brought Indica hybrid from the southern province of Indian peninsula. If legends are to be believed, the Indian Indica was itself an effect of long effort in the mountainous state of Kerala, that led to the creation of cannabis plant extremely rich in resin" - Zambeza Seeds

HOLLANDS HOPE 2.0
"Hollands Hope 2.0 is a cross between Afghan and Dutch Skunk, which has fully adapted to the wet and cold Dutch climate. Hollands Hope 2.0 owes its name to the fact that it can even fully flower and produce excellent results in a wet and changeable summer, thereby giving hope to Dutch outdoor growers. This is why it's also called the 'golden nugget'. Hollands Hope is a strong and reliable mould resistant plant, 80% Indica and 20% Sativa.
In the flowering stage Hollands Hope spreads a sweet lemon scent you can surely taste when you smoke the buds. After smoking you will be rewarded with a high buzzy feeling that lasts several hours. It makes me happy and giggly. If I have foreign friends over, I always treat them to the wonderful Hollands Hope. I get nothing but positive comments on this typical Dutch cannabis which we can be proud of. Hollands Hope 2.0 is also popular among medicinal users; it helps treat stress, pain and anxiety." - Suzy Seeds

"One of our most famous strains is Northern Lights Auto Flowering. This 8 week compact, fast and very dense strain is a favourite amongst many. With frosted buds possess a honey-musk aroma blended with an earthy Afghan undertone. Low odor and easy to grow this strain is a favorite for both connoisseur quality and commercial quantity.

Northern Lights is so easy to grow that's why she is well loved by a lot of growers. Not just that, it is also very potent with the THC level of 15% +. LIGHTS

In the grow room I'm running 1650W of HID. 1400W of HPS and 250W of MH. In the veg room I'm running a mix of warm and cold spectrum of CFLs. I have about 12 bulbs that range in watts and kelvins.

TEMPERATURE
For the first time ever my temperatures are dialed in and perfect. At night the temps are 70F and lights on are 75-80F. :dreamy: love it!

SOIL & NUTRIENTS
I have dreams of going organic someday but until then I'm a victim of consumerism and I spend my money on nutrients. Love what Green Planet has to offer and they're a great consumer based company. They've got my business.

CONCLUSION
Been with this magazine for a year now. It's obvious to me that I'm going to be here awhile. I've got nothing but love for what this place stands for and the people that call it home. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. I feel I've got a lot to bring to the table still in order for me to be at peace with what I've given back to this place. I was welcomed with open arms by incredible people, thanks for being a part of my passion!

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Brilliant (and extensive) update, Pigeons. I agree with you that a problem with perpetual journals is that it's hard to really keep track of the details of growing the individual plants. I think a periodic update like this one is a huge help, not only for the grower (for his or her record keeping), but for the audience who is following along and keeping track of where things are.

+reps for you, my friend, and thanks!

Also bud porn -- SO GOOD!

Have a great day!

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Thanks OG!

Can't wait to sink my teeth into it! All of them are so great!

But... Oh there's a but!

I can definitely rank a few in order of preference. I haven't tried them all yet but my favorites so far are the Jack Herer and the Jabb's Stash. Great looking buds with tons of resin! Perfect way to start the day!

I'll do a specific smoke report for the Jackelope, just for you my man. It might not be for another couple weeks but I'll be sure to be very descriptive!

Lots of love my man! Hug the old lady for me and stay warm
