Phase Three: Out Of Work!

Yea I go through 30 gallons a day for two tents. It'll be much nicer when I have a fill valve instead of carrying buckets everyday haha.
How many plants?! And do you use full strength nutes? If not what ratio do you use!

I haven't quite been sold on the one part nutes yet but that could be due to lack of reading!

I'm really happy with the amount of replies and inputs I've gotten compared to the past! Thanks everyone!

Anyone have any thoughts on what deficiency I have on the second post?

I use the same nutrient solution for everything ≈450ppm @ 5.5-5.8 Ph

Two tents 9 3 gallon plants each.
I've been using Dyna-Gro with protekt and terpinator added in.
ML/Per gallon it's
5 pH down
.8 protekt
.8 Terpinator
5 Dyna-Gro foliage-pro

Every Friday I add .5ml/gal of orca liquid mychorrizae

Got good results with Humbolt County Own their "Deep breath" and "G10" really packs the terps , have see Dyna Gro but never really looked into it sounds like it gives great results

Minor update before the Week 4 update!

Big thanks to @Reave , @PE636 and everyone else who gave their input ever since I started watering 1-2 times a day at 1/4 strength my plants have shown me the most day today improvements since they've started.

Sometime this week I'll be converting my old DWC buckets into drip systems (2 10 gallon buckets) each feeding 6 plants.

Any suggestions on how many times a day they should be watered and for how long?

That's what I do, 1/4 strength nutes until the plant tells you it needs more, feed drain to waste, make sure you get that run off to flush out any build up, I feed twice a day, I never let my coco go dry, imo it helps avoid any build up and no need to be flushing if you are feeding it to run off. I hand water too which is becoming a bit of a pain in bloom but I know nothing of drip feeding so I'll stick to hand feeding since I only have the 2 in that space. I use Canna coco A & B and when it needed it I added @Emilya eggshell calmag plus recipe, the plants love it! The only other additive I used was pk 13/14 for a week. If you don't have a ppm pen just make sure and ph from 5.1 to 6.2, it doesn't have to be accurate every time it's ok to fluctuate within that range because different nutrients are taken up at different ranges. Too low ph and you'll stunt your growth. It's good to start the nutrients at that strength because it's easier to up it when needed rather than going full strength and having to dial back once issues show because it'll already be happening before it shows you have a problem.

I have one other plant in coco, an auto and I'm using the GH trio for the first time in that grow, also in my first dwc attempt, also an auto. With all the different additives and nutrients I figure I'll keep it simple until I fully understand and know what I'm doing.

Happy growing!

I'm having a hard time finding crates or buckets to lift the table off the low surface I have it on but before Saturday I plan to have it raised and slightly tilted so the water drains into a 30 gallon tote so I can roll it in and out to dump every other day.
My reservoirs only add up to 20 gallons so I think I'll be able to manage!

How you liking the GH FloraSeries? Can I see some pictures!?

That's a good plan for drainage, I have my Durban Poison clones slightly raised and just use a shop vac in the tray, unfortunately due to height issues in that space I cannot raise them where I want to.
I'm just a couple of weeks in using the GH trio, using them on Northern Lights Auto's.

One in dwc and one in coco. Both are quarter strength nutes. I've heard good things about these and am considering using them from here on out, we'll see once we get to harvest.

Happy growing!

So today I woke up to slight taco'ing but, my temps and RH aren't out of wack 76° and 52% RH. This is what I think might be going on:

  • I started mixing my nutes at 5gal instead of 1 and assumed adding the same amount of pHvdown per gal would bring my pH to the same level.
  • I never thought to check my runoff pH levels which are at 7.2ish
  • I have the worst possible pH tester. General Hydroponics pH drops.
  • Not enough CalMag. Ive only been adding 6ML per 5gal.
All of these issues will be addressed the next watering and I will be getting a pH meter Friday from a guy on OfferUp.

Any and all advice welcomed!

What's the current ph going in? I never measure ph going out.
Too strong nutes mixture?
Removing run off from the drain tray?

Honestly I haven't checked since I started using 5gals. Rookie mistake but before it was around 6.0 - 6.2 . Water is removed right after watering so I don't think that's it.

Quick question for anyone joined in!

I have my 2 1000w MH dimmed to 700w at 15-17 inches away.

I feel my plants aren't growing as fast as usual with a 1000w dimmed down to 500w. Now to the questions!

How far away are your lights from your canopy & what do you run them at?

I think I should either raise my light or dim them down to 500w. Opinions?

I also don't measure my run off. There shouldn't be a difference from 1-5 gallons unless your math was off.

As far as light height and intensity, you need the light close enough that the footprint still covers the needed space. Then adjust the intensity up or down

Week 4 Update

Had a few hiccups and ants for some reason but everything seems to be sorted out!

Feeding: General Hydroponics at 1/4 strength.
Temps: 72°- 84° at its hottest
RH: 32% - 59%
pH: I was running a bit high at 6.2 - 6.8 that has been corrected to around 5.6 - 6.0 .

Planning to veg until the second week of NOV so no intense training will happen till around the end of October and a two week recovery period. I'm looking forward to see how many variations of the strain come out!

Week 5 Update:

Not much has changed this week but my feeding schedule and amount of calmag I’ve been giving the ladies!

Firstly I’ve bumped my feeding up a little to 15ML of Micro & Grow. Calmag has been bumped down to 2.5 ML per gallon.
The tacoing issue has been resolved since I’ve had my humidity in check recently!

Still having mixed feelings on watering but I’ve been feeding them twice a day 12 hours apart.
We are chugging along! November 1st will be the day I flip unless they get too big before then!

Thats all for now!

Week 6 Update:

Not much going on but a little training and really just letting them grow. Iall set to flip Nov 1st. Lost one plant to natural selection(kids playing) but I needed to bring my plant count down anyways so thats that.
Today I gave them then their first foliar feeding of Heavy 16 at 1/4 strength.
Feeding schedule still the same.
