Phantom’s Soil Ginger Punch Auto Grow Journal

My favorite part of the day, sitting outside with the ginger sisters. I had them outside all day except for a two hour break around noon. Watered them each 2 cups of the leftover water from my cloner that was dosed with MC. I’ve noticed the fabric pots are also feeling dryer at the bottom and light. I’ll probably give a second watering tonight and let them go a few days before the first real watering. They really seem to be enjoying the sunshine and heat.

throw some more soil or some coco on the top the help out with the stretching. if you mix coco and granular mykos you won't be disappointed. My favorite time on the day as well.

Good point. It probably shrunk an inch lower, it seems like. I had originally left the soil level a few inches low so I could come and add some wood shavings once permanently outside for moisture control and bugs. Now I probably will add some soil to top it off before the shavings. I will wait until after the first full watering in case the soil does expand for whatever reason.

Alright so Sunday I gave the two girls a good soaking of around 3-4 gallons of water each. After a few hours I came back with a solo cup of 2 grams per gallon of MC for each plant. They are looking good, minus the leaves with the evaporation burns.

They are also starting to show preflowers.

We are on Day #2 of living outside full time. I honestly thought the girls would be doing poorly in the heat, 103+ in the afternoons, but they actually seem to love it. I do notice some cupping in the leaves around noonish so I pull them into the shade for a few hours. They’ve been getting 16oz waterings of 2.5 grams per gallon of MC a day after they get a few cups of just tap water. With the heat and evaporation loss I am seeing, I don’t feel comfortable with giving them only nutrient dosed water every feeding. I also backfilled them a little with more soil just to help with the wind I’ve been seeing here lately.

They both have the same number of nodes but you can see #2 is a few inches taller than her sister.

Day 23 since popping up out of the dirt.

Plant #1 appears to have started flowering the last day or so, I’m seeing a lot of pistils forming at the top growth tip. Plant #2 is only showing pistils on her preflowers. They just got the last of the 3.0 grams per gallon mix I had to feed them. I’m probably going to bump it up to 3.5 grams per gallon for tomorrow’s feeding. So far I’m digging the whole growing autos outdoors.

We shall see what this heat does, hit about 109F today. I was going to look into a silica supplement to help out but decided against it for now. I’ll be happy with a nice single cola for each but for a 65 day auto I’m not sure what to expect.

Also check into a calcium supplement helps a good amount with stress. I like to use cal carb lets me drop the lights a lil. You could also check into water soluable calcium with egg shells for the future.

Looking good phantom. look into emylia post on how to make home made calcuim with egg shels.

I’ve stepped up their watering. Wednesday it was a half gallon of 3.0 grams MC per gallon for each plant. The container was heavy and wet on the bottom afterwards. Thursday they both were light as a feather so both got a gallon each. Today was the same thing, the heat has not helped with evaporation, 108, 110, and 109 the last three days. Tomorrow I’ll step up #1 to 3.25ish grams of MC per gallon, her leaves are a little darker than #1. #1 will get 3.5 or more, she’s a few shades of a lighter green and looking like she’s about to start flowering.
