Shit i'm missing out on so much!! How are y'all doing? Unfortunately i am still waiting for a new PH pen.
Besides that grow is doing just fine on its own Really really really into hempy growing now.

I guess the key here is to root in smaller cups before planting into big containers.

Current strain is doing something similar. After first defo its been growing, single and double leafs.

I use Root Riot plugs to start my seeds. Not to correct but, it is better to plant your hempy grow in it's final bucket. No transplanting is better for autos. Too stressfull to transplant an auto.

I can't really get plants to root properly in the big containers, they root alot but they turn brown within a day. ?

I am growing in 100% Perlite. The roots speed to the bottom for water. I can't see what color my roots are. Last grow when it was finished I saw the roots. They weren't white but the color looked healthy, not brown or black. My experience is that hempy roots are different, more fine hair-like. The plant was very healthy.
I don't know what medium you are using and the growing technique you are using as well. Sorry, I don't have an answer for you. Might be that someone more knowledgeable than I, can help.

I am using washed clay pebbles. Clones are rooted in Jiffy plugs / rapid rooters.
The ones in 0,3l cups are doing just fine. But the ones i put directly into 3 gallon buckets, wont reach bottom.
btw i am experiencing other issues now that i don't have a ph pen, i sold the good one i had, and was left with a crappy one that i chucked, and still waiting for the new one, its been close to 3 weeks now!!! i might cry a little before i go to sleep :s meeeh

I use what's called a tree pot
or a tray liner , sometimes they call it
but t's really a band pot by aderson
these puppies = Anderson Deep Tree Bands

you can find them used on fleabay as well
I got some 1 1/2 x 10" deep on fleabay perfect for autos gets a long tap root set up in days it allows for a easy slide out of soil & roots at trans plant & not even distrub the tap root
you can put a small screen OR at the end of some fibers (i've used coco ) to keep the soil in the open bottom allows for the pushing out of a tree seedling , we grow trees right ? lol

I'm not using coco. 100% perlite. I am using what is on the schedule. My only addition is the CalMag. Got to do Cal Mag under LEDs. I might change in a future grow but I live by the rule, don't broke it if it's fixed. No need for aeration with hempy. I make up 3 gallons of nutrients and shake them good before pouring.

I run FloraNova advanced drain to waste with some of the other stuff on that expert sheduel a few sub's I use are simular to their bud builder & yeild builders .
I like it
but have learned to mix & use , the stuff grows if you let sit & aireate it with a stone
I airstone all water at all times the R/O tanks have airstones 24/7
I do a mix & let bubble for an hour before watering so o2 & the nutes mix well
the idea is to pull as much 02 thru the coco in cycles of nutes as watered from the top it forces the air outta the pot that's why it's best to flood quickly as a level wave of water flows / runs down evenly & pushes air out , as the water wave reaches to bottom that pulls air thru the coco from the top
that another why for a daily watering refreashes the o2 levels

So after doing the math, I should be able to harvest HGK Flux and SB mainline in 3 to 4 weeks. HGK clone should be ready by early to mid November and my other clones I'm guessing right around thanksgiving and the pc should be ready in early to mid December.

Might go in tonight and backbuild the HGK Flux. I want her to fill in below. Anyone object to that idea?

U trying Hempy in hydroton? Aka clay pebbles?

I had issues too, problem was like Jim said above in perlite the roots forum the same as soil. Hair like. I found in hydroton the roots forums more like true hydro. Thick roots and susceptible to high rootzone temps. Check your root temp. She might be getting warm and killing them.

And pH temp fix. Go to a pet shop. Buy a liquid test kit. Just ask for a wide range pH test kit. Should be under 10$

Christmas smoke! Can't complain there. How many weeks are ya since seeing pre flowers? I usually back build between fattening phase. Before cylaxs begin to swell was week 5 bang on with the pk. I'm guessing the wr will be week 6 because its a 9 week strain. Hard to judge when exactly to do it when its a new strain. I say if the buds are as tall as u want em, snip the tip! Lol

Soo I said fuck it, I'm ripping apart the basement and building a new fuckin room, just smashed my head for the last time, getting in that cramped to fuck small ass closet. Had a ball cap on, got it right on the button.

Anyways here's my plan. 2 rooms, flower room will be 8x6 so I can run both lights. And veg will be 6x6. Full size doors. Walk in grow spaces.
God my fuckin head hurts.

Ouch, right on the button so it's a nice pinpointed pain. They're 6 weeks since preflowers appeared, and the calyx are swelled up pretty good. So I went ahead and snipped them tonight so they fill in below. Seems like the Flux has started to finally grow some leaves back, or the tiny ones she had got big. But everything in flower room is looking great tonight. Looking forward to my monthly harvests soon.

back building sounds alot like what my slappin' gets done by doing some critical damage that starts a panic growth spurt But at a different stages of growth . slappin' is done at the point where the stem starts to take off & get that hollow ribbed look just as that starts is when the slappin' is done ie; a critical point in the plant growth as delay at early means less light as the plant to left might not be damaged .it would seem that back building does that to colas promoting more flowers / caudes with lateral growth .
