Peyton & Pals Perpetual Playground

Well I went and messed with her. Once I put a squeeze on the branches I could feel the centers give in. Then I just gently bent them down and they stayed where I put them. You could see a tiny split running along the length of area where I squeezed. Does that need tape on it or is tape only necessary when tear is other way and branch might fall off?

I'll grab a pic in a few minutes to show

Will these branches need tape? You can see the split that runs along branch at bend and where the bottom skin is pushed outward

OTM, only older diesels can run on cooking oil. My engine is too advanced & it would run but it would ruin my engine :(

Payton, you have the touch of a rapist :) just like me :) hahaha, don't worry about it mate, it'll heal up without tape, it'll get a big fat knuckle there. The upside of you doing that is it will struggle to get back up, I try not to split them but they need training for a few days to stay down.

Yeah, i am a little aggressive with these ladies. Spent a lot of time taking nuts and bolts off vehicles using fingers, so I don't really know what's rough. Glad to hear it'll heal up fine though. I'll still check on it a couple times a day since I do anyways, so I'll let ya know if it turns ugly.

I've spent most of my life in the building trade so I know where you're coming from but if you're worried stick some tape around it. I split one years ago & meant to tape it but forgot. By the time I remembered about it the branch had healed so now I don't bother. I only use tape to keep things vertical or if I cut through a branch.

That's reassuring. I know when I accidentally bent one on first grow I didn't notice it till it was an ugly grey knuckle. I'm sure at some point I'll get paranoid and tape them up. I didn't need them lower really, their height was fine I just want to make them strong and get nutes through faster. Trying everything I can to get closer to a pound

I find bending is the best way to increase yield & get more tops. I use it to keep my canopy level & by lowering the highest parts it stops them becoming dominant so other parts take over. Another tip I use is to pinch just below the heads, this increases growth further down the branch & you can get multiple heads from one branch. If you try this be very careful & gentle with the pinch, if you're too rough you'll either take the end off or kill it. Pinch gently & increase pressure slowly until you hear it crush inside & the head should flop back but stay alive :)

I pinched the nodes on my HGK Flux and it stunted them really bad for about two weeks. Should have remembered that earlier with pc. I guess my pinch is a little too aggressive

Haha yep that sounds like a major stun, if you get it right it only lasts for a few days. I've never had any training or advice so I've learnt everything the hard way through trial & error. There have been & still is lots of error but it's all part of the fun :)

I know I'll mess shit up all the time. I rush through a lot of stuff just to get it done, like cloning. I just threw them in a cup of water with rooting hormone. 1 survived, about 6 died. I'll get there someday, I just gotta prepare better

I don't think I'll ever stop making mistakes, it's in my nature so I just laugh at myself when it all goes wrong & enjoy the bits that go right :)
I'm off to bed now but before I go, check your PM's I've sent you a funny link. Go & enjoy :)

Late getting on today, busy as shit between making smart pots, cleaning aquariums and fixing a Buddy's laptop.

Peyton looks like u supercropped right. From my trials u can supercrop until week 4 and within 24 hours u might have to bend again, will surprise the hell out of ya. But that 24-48 hours will slow down the node that's taking off too fast and even out the plant.
If u super crop after week 4 u gotta prop the branch after u supercell, plant won't strengthin up to stand the bud again. Buds are too heavy at this point for me.

Technique I use is squish then bend, thumb and for finger , squeeze a half to 3/4 inch section, and then bend the direction of the pinch. Basically flatten the stem before bending. Some twist some use there finger nail, I find this the least likely for the stem to split.

Not going to be on much next few days. I'll try to get on in the evenings.

Missed you today stumped. Glad I didn't need it up. I just pinched pretty hard and it was way too move. When I went out a couple hours later they were staying to go back up, so I threw the ties back over them gently so they won't go back up high. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing to do. Threw another CFL over her to bump her to about 150 watts of light. Wildjim popped on for awhile. Been a quiet day with you two missing in action. But you didn't miss much in case you can't tell. I'll check on my plants again in morning, cause I normally do but now I'll be paranoid about supercrop

A 7 foot plant? Doubt it, but I'm not the expert on that. It won't penetrate near the bottom, so some part of the plant would suffer. Stumped might know a way to do it but he'll be hit and miss for the next few days
