Perpetual Transition - Indoor - Soil - LED - CO2 - Airpots

well sure enough, i returned everything i bought and got a better stock of parts. i have a good idea, now i just need to build it. it WILL be made tonight, so pictures will be forthcoming!

I made a drip system recently and it worked well. My system is about the same as yours.

The only thing I would suggest to do is install shutoffs to each pot. I had to remake mine since I didnt have shutoffs. It helps keep the plants evenly moist and not overly wet. I will post some pics on my journal later if you want to check it out.

You probably have everything worked out but just trying to help where I can.
cheers and
keep em green

thanks shottafire! just got done eating and cleaning up dinner, bout to start my project! this won't really be an automatic drip system, just something to make my watering task easier =]

for sure good luck man how was dinn ?

oh it was awesome. i'm working on starting a restaurant. there's still a LOT to do, but for the last couple weeks i've been working on narrowing down all my recipes to really give the menu a concise but coherent style. Tonight was leftovers from the weekend, which was actually a new recipe I put together. I don't have a name for the dish yet (maybe you guys have ideas?) but its basically a spicy chopped chicken sandwich. and i might as well start a new tradition on my journals.. some of you have life stories.. ill have recipes =]

so... here's one of my favorite sandwiches ever:
(be warned... this makes a lot of food.. good for parties or lunches!)

chicken boil:
(mix with enough water to cover chicken)
4lb of chicken or 1 whole chicken (about 6lb)
2 tbsp cayenne
2 tbsp chili powder
3 tbsp adobo seasoning
3 jalapenos, chopped roughly
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 cup chicken broth

add chicken to boiling water, and boil until cooked. remove chicken and allow to cool. pull from bones and chop.

sauce:
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp oil
1/2 cup chicken broth
3 dried guajillo peppers, finely chopped
1 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 cup crushed tomatoes

base:
butter
1/2 onion, diced
1 orange bell pepper, diced
1/2 cup crushed tomatoes
2 tsp chili powder
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne
1/3 cup pepperoncini, diced
1 orange, peeled and diced
cilantro

Make the sauce now. In a large saucepan, saute the garlic and oil over high heat until lightly toasted. Add half the chicken broth and the peppers and cook for 2-3 minutes to let them sweat. Add tomato paste and tomates and bring to a boil. Add chicken, reduce heat, add remaining broth and allow to simmer for 5-10 min. Stir often.

To make the base, saute onion and pepper in a large saucepan over low heat. Add crushed tomatoes and spices, and bring to a boil. Add the orange, cilantro, pepperoncini, and reduce to a simmer. Let it reduce a bit and then mix in the chicken.

fresh slaw:
2 bag broccoli slaw
1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 cup mayo
2 tbsp lemon juice
cilantro
1 tbsp dill
1 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tbsp ginger, minced
1/2 tbsp oil
1 tsp kosher salt
1 small shallot
pepper

chop ingredients and mix together in a large bowl. refrigerate overnight.

Toast your sandwich buns with butter, and smear creamy jalapeno ranch dip on each side. heap a healthy portion of chicken on the bun, and top with a bunch of slaw. Serve with napkins. and maybe chips or fries =]

i'd be glad to hear what you guys think! (hint: OMG)

alright, on to the pictures of my handiwork. i didnt quite buy enough flexible tubing to mount the water spout as high as i wanted it so i'll have to do final assembly tomorrow. silicone glue has to dry anyway.

IMAG04843.jpg

the water spout at the top is an inverted gallon jug with an open top, and three spouts coming off it. each plant will be connected to one. best way to do an even split since they don't make 3 way splitters (at least not in the local stores).

the rings at the bottom of the plants are poly tubing with holes drilled in them. i had to warm the tubing in the oven to get it to bend in such a tight circle without folding. i ran some water through one and it worked great! will post video tomorrow of the system in action.

thanks omm =] ive always wanted to start a restaurant. my career (and hobbies) currently involves me being in front of the computer for the majority of the day, which i think might be a factor in my migraines. slowly coming to terms with that, and i realized recently that i've always had something else i was passionate for, its just a big task =]

Good luck with your new restaraunt. Me and my wife opened a food service business a year and a half ago. It is not easy but the payoffs can be awesome.

The hardest part is finding the right staff.

Anyways good luck with it buddy.

alright guys i know i promised video today, but i'm once again waiting for more silicone glue to dry. apparently i left a couple pinhole leaks heh

in other news, the big one is almost on the grid. the clones are looking better (one more than the other). looking forward to them catching up more. once they're all firmly established i'm going to start the GLR up again =]

havent tested my watering system today, but i did snap some photos. also added another LED light. The light coming out is slightly different (more white), not sure if itll matter to the plants since both LEDs are shining on them.

anyway, here are the pics:

the first clone (this one was rooted already when i cut the other ones..)

soon its gonna be time to start bending the first one over! the last picture makes the grid look loose and flimsy. its not. quite sturdy, and if i move any of the line, it stays where i put it because of the nylon coating. sticks to itself, conveniently!

also, the small clones are only growing single leaves.. is that a normal thing as theyre starting out? seems odd lol.

ok.... i dunno if its the new light or what..

i mean i knew this plant grew vertically pretty quick, that's why i decided to go with a scrog style grow.. but thats almost 2 inches in 3 hours... lol

Looking good Driftme! More light will help, no matter what.

That wire is perfect....I agree...it will not be moving. Girls will be held well. I'm getting excited to see this take off, which it will! About the clone.....first time I got a cutting, I thought the same thing. It will start looking normal soon. Your peppers look good too!:high-five:

thanks omm. another update about the fabled watering system.... all i need now is a way to secure the rings to the pot or soil. they don't want to stay put because of the hose wanting to flex its own way. i have a couple ideas. this thing is a pain to get set up so far, but i'll be thanking myself later when the screen is full!

pictures! they've been growing in my absence.. was out of town for the weekend, and came back to some pretty nice lookin plants.

i'm going to probably throw them into flower next week. i want them to get a LITTLE bigger first, but i don't have a lot of time before my lease is up. i'll be cutting it close if i veg for any longer.

started the girls on 12/12 last night. i need to get them going so i can harvest before my lease is up. not about to try to move a full scrog tent!

will post pictures this afternoon when the lights are on =]

did my first scrog training today. any branches that could be tucked were tucked =] some are just barely poking out of the hole i assigned them to, but i'm sure i'll be moving them around some as the plant adapts and fills out. i'm really excited to see this screen fill up.
