How long are you going to be away? Business or pleasure? There's no one close to you who could mind your grow while you're gone?
 
hey @HashGirl Thanks for stopping by! I will be gone about 9 days so not too bad but now I am thinking I will need a bigger resevoir.

In January, my wife, dog and I moved to Calgary, Alberta Canada from Minnesota. With covid restrictions we haven't really met anyone to be honest, although, we are still having a great time!

We are heading back to MN to see family, it will be my first time in almost a year. As long as this watering system is functional, I don't think it will be a huge issue but I've never actually set up an automated watering system. Fingers crossed!!!
 
Today I did my first test of the watering system minus the timer. I really like this hose splitter that goes to 8 hoses. Apparently, you can buy different flow nozzles. That would have been good to know as mine is a pretty slow drip. Its fine but I wonder how hard it is on my submersible pump. Anyway, here is after watering

Also, they seem to be in the beginning stage of showing preflowers. In my opinion, Somango 2 is confirmed female. I believe GDP 4 is male. I will post pictures of each plant that seems to be showing something and we can play a game of guess the sex. Whatever Somango 1 is I really look forward to seeds from that parent plant.

my phone is acting up, the bottom picture where the watering device is more visible and the plants are drooping is before watering. I let them go a little dry as I wanted to use the system and not water them by hand to avoid delaying testing

A bit of back pressure is usually a good thing. If you can check the amps your pump is drawing and see if it isn’t more than the amount it is rated for. That might help you feel more betterer about it.
 
Congrats on the female! Any airstones sitting around? That's how most auto-watering folks keep their nutes mixed if they don't do a recirculating setup.

Plants are looking really happy (if crowded)!

Thanks for bringing up the airstones shed! I have a few and contemplated that early on but sort of moved on to being lazy. I will have airstones in the reservoir. I could have them turn on and off at certain times but I had them run 24/7 in the hydro grow so I might just leave them running. So glad you brought that up.
 
My timer showed up today and I am currently grabbing the airstones and pump from my other tent. The last piece is a 10gal or more resevoir. I tried to find one at the local hydro shop but that was unsuccessful. I have a couple of 5 gallon buckets I'm tempted to make something work but I am leaning towards just buying a tote and calling it a day.

Brought this guy in to keep an eye on things when I'm gone

Looks like 2 more ladies. I'll have to triple check but GDP1 and Somango 4 are showing female and it looks like somango 2 was yesterday in a prior post. GDP1:

I thought somango 4 was the one I pictured before so I didn't take a picture today so I will confirm that both somango 2 and 4 are looking female if that is the case. In other news this GDP looks male to me. I'll grab the number kn that one later.

Happy Saturday! I ended up with a 10gallon classic plastic trash can and I have 2 airstones in there now with 5gallons as a test. I'll probably just let this sit and water again in a day or two.

Somango 3 is also female! I think we got a 50/50 split unless some of the others surprise me as slow to show.

Somango 2,34 and GDP1 seem to be female. The rest look like what I anticipate will be male but we shall see. Happy Monday everyone!

The minion is live. You access it through an app. This one was donated to us from a friend who used it for their puppy. My wife and her friends would watch the dog fo fun at work. Its pretty good for what it is. Any suspected males will be moved to another tent and flowered ahead of time. I will hopefully collect (very scientifically) pollen from each to pollinate branches of each female. Thanks for stopping by mi amigo
