Pennywise Does SOG Pheno Hunts Fall 2018

Duuuuuuu

Read Chris read....

Rhino is potash based

I'll probably run em both....why the hell not

Lol

You can for sure use more than 1 silica source. I use rock dusts (a type of Basalt high in Silica - long term release in soil) and Pro-tekt foiler and also HorseTail fern tea foiler. Hard to over-do something that is one of the most prevalent elements in the earth's crust. We can probably over-do Pro-tekt tho... I just use a little bit but I use it pretty often.

Well my 3rd attempt at cuttings paid off well with a 100% success rate and I just popped some in rockwool and some in peat with rooting powder. Was just over 2 weeks for rooting. Going to gift some mates the extra cuttings I don't need.

What I do with cuts is pick the largest few plants of them all and usually keep one in VEG and throw the other in FLOWER. The extras I let them go and it worthy AND I have room I will flower them. For the last few years all I ran was clones in flower.

It's just this run that I've done a lot of seeds. I'm strain hunting, I get board easily. MY BIG problem is I don't always take cuts and of course the plants I don't turn out complete fire keepers.

I'm that guy that says... "should a taken cuts".

Good point I liek variety and to see what is out there however I wish I could keep Great keeper strains on one tent all the time . Buffalato ? Best I had in while strength wise .

And I didn't take cuts... cause I have 2 more packs of seeds! I'm a dumb ass. That last one that I sent you was Buffalato #3 - she started out weird growth but grew out of it. I've got a relative now that has that same growth weirdness. I'm taking cuts this time. Livin and learnin...

Penny your young ladies are taking off. They look great too! I'm a little jelly right now ... I'm like a week behind you. Tomorrow I'm ramping up some girls and gonna full up the flower room again. Been too long for me.

Yes, what does your plants look like now?

They look a bit burnt, too much nutes from first feed, will drop it to 150ppm. One is dead so have a couple of autos germing now, here's the latest, they look horrible.. poor babies..at least I'm learning so hopefully there shouldn't be a problem with the new autos.. I also flushed them yesterday with 5.5 ph r/o water thinking that would bring the runoff ph down, is it worth me flushing again today with 5.9 water? Or will that be too much? As they're in coco & perlite I'm not sure if it will hold so much water anyway from yesterday, but worried about over watering them.

I'm waiting for mine to show sex so I can get the males quarantined. Medigrow it's close to impossible to over water with coco. Just mix up a good batch of nutes and ph to 5.8-6.2 and run some through until you get runoff. The sweet thing about coco is you can reset it very quickly and correcting any problem you may run into.

I always heard if you take clones of clones forever eventually the plants kind of fades in potency. But that was just what i heard on the street. Not sure. Good question.:roorrip:

Also heard that but if you think about it why should it loose power or vigor?
Its the same genetics and plant cells.
Makes for interesting debate!!

Ive read that same thing somewhere as well. I doubt Ill ever keep a mother plant around that long. Too many strains I want to try growing to stick to the same one. Ive got a couple seeds I just dunked in water. Gonna grow em out and see how healthy they are. If they look good Im planning to fire up the Dewey cloner and get my clone on!
Agreed so much new stuff to try now days and the new ones sound so delicious!

It's actually on the rare side, not a lot of people have the real cut. And I do love Chemdog!
I got a Chemdog a while back which never popped.
Was not very happy about that.
never got one again, think it was a freebee too.

Being a dummy here, you mean you ph the water/feed and that's it? See, everything I read about hydro being under 6 is rubbish!
So just go with the ph going in and screw the runoff?
i use 5.5 ph, but i use Greenhouse powder feeding nutrients, designed by The Strain Hunters, if you watch their grow vids they use 5.5 ph right through the grow. but i do fluctuate between 5.5 and 5.8.

I used to run lower ph but was always running into issues so bumped it up a little and works much better in coco. I'll S1 the Chems and the Blueberry and Xmas Bud will be open pollination. I'm not using the mutant XB though. Just not worth keeping it in the gene pool.

That's it yeah, I learnt that the first time after ph'd my water with lemon juice for an hour trying to get it right, then added nutes :D I'm an idiot, lol!
No slow not stupid is my saying lol

I'm that guy that says... "should a taken cuts".

That's the story of my life.

I've been lurking around here long enough that I might as well get subbed. Better late than never.
