They probably thought you were drug seeking since it's such an epidemic in the states... They practically wont use opiates for what they're meant for a temporary pain killer, instead they give steady HEAVY doses with VERY addictive drugs so you not only get hooked but build a tolerance to where you need more meds and eventually you will build a tolerance to where opiates wont help your pain. I personally think opiates should be outlawed from long term prescriptions, physical therapy and many none opiate pain killers that are less addictive and more designed for long term use is not only smarter but more moral... this is why I love cannabis a pain killing substance that makes you happy isnt addictive<---- to a degree, and impossible to OD on
 
They banned barbiturates and methaqualone back in my day and it wasn’t anywhere near the problem opiates are. Guess it’s all who’s pockets are being lined.

It was a crazy drug, especially for recreational use. I knew a few zombies in the early 70s.
